My Natural Hair Journey...and how i ruined it lol

Hi guys! This is my very first video so I was a little nervous putting this one out. Sorry that it's over 15 minutes long but this IS my natural hair journey over the course of almost 5 years (1 year of me transitioning). Allergies were kicking my butt so sorry for the monotone-ness of this video. I'll get better with it, I promise lol and with editing. ANYWAYYYYSSS, I hope you guys enjoy this video, there will be many more to come besides hair. Don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT, AND SUBSCRIBE! Share it with your friends and family who may be thinking about going natural and all that good stuff. My social media links will be listed below:

Leave to our black parents to think a natural Afro is the worst thing in the world, especially if it’s short, like I felt that🙄

Exactly, I was having a heated debate with my mom the other day. I'm one year natural, but she doesn't want me to cut my straight ends yet. So, I'm going to have to continue transitioning until my freshman year of college. It's really crazy how we are conditioned to not like the hair that grows out our scalp.

Omg this topic ....it boils me, how black women have been conditioned to feel ab our hair 😭😭 we have beautiful hair and we need to accept the beauty of it !! My dad is fine with natural hair and i think he’d rather my mom go natural but he legs her do what she wants. Sooo i finna learn and teach others ...all that gud stuff

Event Planner You’re right, it starts at home. How are we gonna have confident black women when the people who are supposed to love us the most are implying that we aren’t beautiful just the way we are🤦🏽‍♀️

Yeah lol it’s all fun and games the first few days of perming and bleaching and coloring and stuff with your natural hair until later on, it will break and lose moisture all of that...I’ve learned my lesson a year ago... I went completely bald January 20th this year and I’m about 4-5 inches long now and I’m not doing ANYTHING to it at all lol keep it up your hair is amazing

Your hair is still beautiful , love your courage and thanks for sharing , as a new natural hope I can learn from you

Candy Wife if you want to try to lighten it the natural way do the hydrogen peroxide method. That’s what I did to light my natural hair to a brown. (Previously did the Lorena hi-color hilights magenta & even tho you aren’t bleaching it before the color there’s still a lightening agent in it so maybe try the natural first) Idk what method you plan on using for the color without pre-bleaching it but yea 😅just wanted to share that in case you’re doing something else.

Naturalizer is the devil, I have loss hair had bald spots from them. Now my hair is growing from wearing twists , I don't take my natural hair journey For granted.

Not Your Average Joe I honestly think long hair is so much work and thats why most people tend to get complacent lol. I also like my hair a lot stretched now so been doing a lot of low maintenance styles such as braid outs and my hair loves flexi rods. And even trying out those magnetic rollers to have that straight hair look because heat damage is real sis 😂 and I recently had a run in with her

I'm ready to restart this journey again, best of luck to restart your journey!

This was SO GOOD and SO TRUE, Little Sis! Just did my second big chop from bleach/permanent color damage. Before this, the last time I had my hair colored was 16 years ago after a virgin relaxer and about a year later I had to chop it off because all of my hair in the middle of my head had broken off from me wearing it in high ponytails trying to mask how thin it was getting. This time, I was fully natural when I got the color and just like you, I thought that it would be "tough enough" to not be damaged with proper follow-up care. Sorry, wrong answer! Bleach with permanent color murders your hair - period. Ain't enough conditioner in the world to bring it back to its former glory. So, I'm proud of you, and I hope you do stay away from color unless you're sure you'll be ok with cutting it off within a year! Stay beautiful, inside and out! ❤

This reminds me of me, after a year of having made the big chop I decided to dye my hair and paint it purple and when I saw how mistreated my hair was I went black and treat it but one year after that I bleach it again but green this time but I didn't learn from those two times. I did it a third time I made it blue until I gave up and I prefer my curls.

That's exactly what I did. I put my natural hair in individual plaits thatt way I can shampoo my scalp and do my scalp massages. My hair is BSL now. Just moisturize and keep your scalp clean and healthy. Also try not to sleep in your wings or leave them on 24/7. When you get home, take that thing off and let your scalp receive oxygen. Your hair could thin out if you dont. The key is making sure you're still moisturizing. I moisturize every day. That's why I love the wigs. They dont effect my hair regimen.

Never bleach......dye on the same day, not good. The next time try henna powder it’s good for your hair and will naturally tint it. Go on Amazon they have it in browns, coppers and your favorite....red. Sorry about the setback.
