When Henry puts his hat on the head of Terence it is awesome. I saw this in the theatre when I was a kid. One of the true great movies for me.

This scene was shot at my Indian reservation called the Pueblo of Acoma. It’s one of the only movies filmed there.

Outstanding scene. The love and respect Hill’s character has for Fonda’s is so pure and touching. Fantastic acting.

I met Terrence Hill while part of this movie was filmed at White Sands National Park. Great person and his blue eyes where simply amazing.

Incredible western movie. Possibly the best ever made. Italian filmmakers. The best. 🇮🇹

It is a film about the passing of time and the perception we have of it, about life... A young man who thinks there was a "good old days" with wild west heroes when there never was. And a figure of that time who wants to leave the stage. "Nobody" is all the children born in the XX years who are nostalgic for 20 years before their birth and who imagine heroes. But they are no hero just man like the others.

I saw this movie as a young man.....after which Terrence Hill became one of favorite actors. Now that I am tad bit older, I find that I appreciate Henry Fonda's performance more and more. Great movie....never tire of watching it.

Absolute top class screenwriting and acting. Crazy to think Fonda was almost 70 in this movie.

The amount of balls and trust it takes for a man to taunt a grieving legendary gunslinger ! The movie that made me regret Hill didn't have more serious movies in his prime. I mean, I love his duo with his friend Bud Spencer, but he was clearly western legend material !

When I first watched this movie my name is nobody I was surprised how much I liked it . It's become one of my favourites . It's got everything ! Laugh and action is non stop you will enjoy it also . Give it a chance an watch .

The soft voice and deep respect. Perfect scene.

Sadly this is one Terence Hill movie I missed seeing. Loved him in the 'Trinity' films and 'march or Die. I like the bit where he reads the name on the cross - "Sam Peckinpah.... That's a nice name."

At 2:18, "Nobody" casually clears his coat from his gun side. That is brilliant.

What made these movies so great was one thing they don’t do as well today, and that’s Dialogue!

Fonda & Hill ! What a perfect duo!

Both men realize that they are trapped in an inescapable play. They know that they are doomed but they can't help playing their roles.

I have to disagree. (Only two years later, lol.) They are hardly doomed. It's not an inescapable play, Nobody is writing the script, lol. Beauregard thinks he's doomed, which is why he wants to go to Europe and escape his notoriety. But he's actually Nobody's pawn, and in the end, both get exactly what they wanted in the first place. Beyond the comedy, it's a pretty good story.

I regret that I never grew up on these movies. They seem like very well made western movies. I grew up on Clint Eastwood. I always enjoy rewatching those.

The dialogue in this scene is great!

At 01:21 , a real great scene with the guitar....a real Morricone moment, like Leone also did.

I met Terrence Hill when they filmed part of this movie at White Sands National Park. Wonderful person and his blue eyes held a lot of mischief. My mom also got some pictures of him. Great times and great movie. Love it.

meh, 1/3 is very good. The music is 100% okay. The scene with the mirrors is really bad. 'Squirrel' gettin' smacked in the face with a lazy slap is hilarious.

un super western , Personne qui va aider Jack a rentrer dans l'histoire , trés beau film qui me touche particulièrement , quel époque !

It's all in the eyes. The eyes have it.

And as always Ennio Morricone´s music is wonderful!

“Turn around! Draw.” Beau thinks “nobody” wants to make a name for himself by shooting him. Instead of drawing his pistol, he places his hand on his hat to prevent it from being blown off by jack. His personal hero. He won’t make a name for himself that way but instead as a partnership with him, ending the wild bunch. Ending the Wild West. So many nods. It’s farcical but also very true to the western genre. Love ❤️

Jack Beauregard had been Nobody's child hero, like 20, or more, years before. He's a man of another time, while Nobody is a "new man" that, since he couldn't keep those times alive, wants them to end with a bang. It was a meditation on the western genere itself. On what Leone did with the dollar trilogy to a genere that was dying in Hollywood, and the fact that even that revitalization was ending in parody (Terence Hill was chosen exactly because he was the leading actor of "They Call Me Trinity").

Hank's last western was 1979, Wanda Nevada, he played an old prospector. On golden pond was his last movie, with his daughter.

One of my favorite westerns.

You're right. This movie was conceived by Sergio Leone as an homage to Terence Hill, who AMAZED a whole nation together with the late Bud Spencer in "They Call Me Trinity". This is a very good movie indeed.

bla bla Terrence Hill is Italian. And the movies with him and Bud Spencer are all considered cult classics in Germany, too. That being said, I'm not sure I'd consider either one of them particularly good actors.

I thought he was German, but it doesn't matter which nationality he is. But I always get triggered by extremist americans who only regard their own as the greatest, and best at everything, while dismissing other nations no matter how good they are at whatever they're doing. Americans have ingrained into their collective unconscious the idea that they've been exiled on that continent by Europeans, so naturally, most of them unconsciously repel (when they don't straight up hate) non-american values. That's what I was addressing, not whether or not TH is Italian, Patagonese, or whatever. Also, I agree that neither him, or Bud Spencer are good actors (Bud has been a swimmer before shooting movies), but the movies they've shot are good, so they should get the credit, not Henry Fonda, which honestly doesn't seem like a great actor to me. But, because he's american his ass must be licked by other americans just to show us how "great this country is" (quoting most extremist americans out there) Anyway... I got carried a little in this post, but like I said, I always get triggered by obnoxious and blatant extremists like OP's comment made me believe he is. If I misjudged him I apologize, but if I'm right he's the one who should apologize :)

You can see how his eyes are going bad and the fuzzy parts are our way of seeing he needs the glasses in order to do his business

This film is a masterpiece though I think if it wasn't a comedy it would certainly compete with other big westerns of the time

What a great director can do for good actors. Imagine what sort of actor Terrence Hill could have been if he had played for a proper director a bit more often. And Henry Fonda. One of the best of all time.

Terrence Hill and Henry Fonda did great in this movie that is impossible not to watch it a lot more times. Soundtrack Camera Work Action Comedy Old Western atmosphere And...Beans. 🤣 The Italians knew what they were doing during the 1960s/70s with old western movies.

Watched this at the drive ins way back when, family night.....Dad wasn't gonna miss a western.

Priest got there in time,the medicine man didn't! Lol

Another thing... It takes somebody who loves a genre to make a proper, not parody, in this case, but, well, whatever this is. While "Once upon a time in the west" was a homage to the archetypal western, this is in one that as well, just with a bit comedy and slapstick thrown in. Yet at all the elements are there, for us to love and be inspired by.

So cool😎

Would be epic if they released these movies in 4K or 8K in the future. Anyway Sergio Leone filmed in 35 mm which is not digital but has the equivalent of 20M pixels or greater ! 4K is considered to be around 9M pixels of resolution/frame ! Seeing this movie in 8K on a 100 inch TV would be mind blowing !
