This is the second-to-last track off their 2nd album, Queen of the Murder Scene, which tells the story of a young woman's descent from unrequired love to obsession, madness, murder, and death. Hunter is from the perspective of capital-D Death, who has finally caught up with the eponymous Queen to - as the song says - take back what is his. It's unclear whether this is the literal Grim Reaper or just another aspect of the Queen's shattered psyche, as the lyrics in QotMS are notorious for being intentionally ambiguous. Regardless, the Queen receives a fatal wound at the end of the song, which leads to her signing the final track ("The End (Stars Always Seem to Fade)") as she lays dying. As you ponder that, remember the entire album was written by teenagers. DPA were 18, 16, and 13 when the album was released.
