Shantanu Hudlikar talks humbly and profoundly about his past, but his story also had a ton of hard work in the early days. When switching from his Biology studies to Audio and Sound, he not only read and studied the technical books and magazines, but to me the biggest thing was his musical diversity. A rocker at heart and 100% into Santana and World music sound, he still allowed himself to be influenced by all the music everyone around him was listening to. Not just iconic Steely Dan and Weather Report or Prince for their high quality recordings, I saw Shantanu dive deep into early Blues recordings, older jazz records and classical orchestra records. All of us in our generation while playing or performing rock, rock n roll and Bollywood music, we constantly widened our ears with all kinds of music of this world. So as an Engineer, Shantanu draws from a very vast palate of sounds he has heard and analyzed from every genre. He not only knows how to capture a sound to the best possible fidelity, but more importantly he knows how to inspire creativity or musical vibe in the studio. If one is in a music session with Shantanu, one is guaranteed a fresh outlook, an open mind and a curiosity to be a huge part of the deal. He believes in rituals like all pro audio folks I have seen do all over the world in maintaining gear and setting up sessions. There has to be a method to the madness, and so Shantanu has a ton of routine and method, and yet, he is always searching for a spark, a new thing, a new idea, maybe a mic is left open in a distance, maybe an effect is tweeked differently in a mix, maybe an analog signal is mixed with a digital tone....Shantanu can surprise you or even himself. That's the key to his success. His balance between pure methods and routine and his curiosity. I am so happy to know and have had opportunities to work with him on very high pro level stuff. Our personal friendship and hangout stories are private and legendary, but it doesn't take away from the fact I recognize that my buddy and brother, Shantanu Hudlikar is a world class sound engineer and a consumate pro with a resume to back it up.

Why we can’t use normal home threater speaker or normal speaker for mixing what is the difference?

Studio monitors are intended to produce a flat frequency response to playback the audio recording exactly as intended without any kind of coloration to the sound. Powered speakers are mainly intended to playback the recording in a pleasing way and used more for personal listening. You will find many such details once you search for them.
