My most EXPENSIVE physical media haul EVER!! Blu-ray, DVD, Vinyl, and autographs

This isn’t a ton of items but spent way too much on what’s here. We now have some of my all time grails though.

What a haul! Never feel like you are going on too much about music. Music, to me, is an emotion, a moment, that we can relive over and over. We are blessed to have a physical representation of that moment. I am in love with some very ecclectic songs that come from very obscure movies, bands, etc. I loved learning about the album and song that gave you "that moment". I will listen to it now myself. Such a nice dude Tony is. So happy to have discovered his channel thru you. I hope to have mine updated with new collection videos soon also!

Thank you I really appreciate it! And I’m thrilled you found Tony. One of the most genuine and nicest guys I’ve ever met.

I don’t know the Hurt album but can understand the passion. My sis took over my brother in law’s record business when he passed away and there are plenty of people willing to spend similar amounts and more on specific albums. PS I mentioned in my video yesterday that your livestream would be today but now see that will likely be delayed. Have fun with it when you get to it. Your meet up with everyone looked fun

Great haul, Tim. I’ve been tempted to dive into vinyl collecting, but I can only do it with soundtracks since movies were such a big part of my childhood. 😂. But $600 is TOTALLY worth it for something that a) means so much to who you are and how it makes you feel and b) it’s your passion. ❤❤

Great haul. I was lucky enough to see Hurt a few times. It is a shame they didn’t become a bigger band. I definitely understand your passion for the band. I really really wish they would repress their albums on vinyl…it would also be nice to the older Breaking Benjamin stuff repressed

Great haul. I love the cheese grader . Never heard of hurt . But going to check it out. I buy bootlegs as well. Since some are just to expensive to buy and some bands not willing to spend that price for. I have dropped some coin on some vinyls as well. Anthrax-among the living first pressing . Paided 225 for . Nin-downward spiral -promo release. Paided 275 for . Two vinyls I love and didn't care the price to get those. There are always some vinyls or bands that mean alot to you. That your willing to open the wallet for You didn't show 3 ninjas before. That's a a amazing release

Thanks Joe. I still gotta work on finishing my NIN collection. But yeah with some grail vinyl they come up so little you either pay a ton or don’t see it again.

At that price I was expecting a few words on what the music was like. Hope your turntable is able to handle those expensive grooves!

Hurt was considered “active rock” when they were around. Same radio stations as bands like Korn, Chevelle, Slipknot, etc…, but their music is pretty chill for the most part. They mixed in violin with most songs giving them kinda an orchestral sound. Their lyrics though have always been something that stuck with me. If it wouldn’t have been a copyright thing I would’ve throw some of their music into the video.

Nice pickups Tim! 10 Years is fantastic as they have that TOOL flavor! They just happened to be getting started in Knoxville right as I was graduating from college in 1999 so I was able to see them in their early days in Chattanooga before they really took off.

Hurt is one of my all time favorite bands. Saw them many times. “GBTTM” is a stellar album and is a very limited print run on an Indy label. Stellar pickup, that will most likely never be repressed. It has been on my list for awhile but the price tag has deterred me.

So I listened to that Hurt album. I liked it. It actually sounds extremely familiar. Then I realized that much of my music is of similar styles used on that album. So similar that if you swapped lead vocalists it would not sound out of place. I like Christian music and from my collection, that Hurt album sounds like if you took Jars of Clay, Switchfoot, and Delirious? and blended them together the end result would be Hurt. Talking strictly about the music and not the topics of the songs.

I stayed all the way through, most of that doesn’t mean anything to me. That photos is really cool. And that’s an insane amount of money for somebody on my budget but I don’t know your budget :-) so it may be more doable. 😂 so do you love as long as it isn’t disgusting or illegal go for it and you never know there might be somebody out there that has the same interest. I mean I will say a number of years ago I dropped well over $1000 possibly a couple, which for my budget was millions on the equipment needed so that I can convert VHS tapes to DVDs and then a few years later DVD to digital a contraption to bypass the copyright code which limits even VHS tapes which I found surprising. And I solely did that because there are many many John Wayne movies that were colorized by TCM back in the day in the 90s or whatever but in the early 2000s DVDs became a thing they had their stupid “back to basics” protocol, and everything that had been colorized is exclusively, black and white on DVD. So it still exists in VHS since those are dying, I had to jump on itand get the VHS tapes and convert them to DVD. I have put it to work on thousands of other VHS tapes but man alive that was a huge investment for me at that time.

TIm, I really enjoyed watching your birthday weekend videos. I wanted to ask about your Hurt album. You said you paid quite a bit for it, but when I looked on EBay, there was one copy for $8.99. How do you know a record is the first pressing and why does it make it worth that much more? Thank you for sharing all the cool places you visited, and hope you had a great birthday.

Thank you so much for watching! The HURT albums on eBay are actually CD copies. They released that as a cardboard sleeve CD so depending on perspective it can look like the vinyl jacket. On vinyl it’s super rare cd is pretty easy to find.
