Good morning LorriMarie. Thanks for the walk through. I am eager to see the fruit of your labor. The path is nice and it takes time to hone out your walkway. The pattern will appear like a beautiful mosaic created yearly by you and handsome hubby. You probably already have a general idea of the layout of you magical kingdom and it's exotic gardens near the river banks....lol..be care not to fall down the 'rabbit hole' like Alice...Well that's another upcoming book by LorriMarie. ❤

That's about the extent of a walk for me :-) I'm glad you took the lead, I would no doubt get lost...seriously. Got outdoors yesterday to do some trimming along the fences. Being hot and having to be in long sleeves is not fun. Oh well. I am always amazed at how you just stuff in the ground and it grows. Grandson brought me a hanging plant a few weeks back, mid June or so and it's pretty much dead right now. Last flowered around the 4th. No green thumbs here. So good to see you. Blessings

i think even brown thumbs would do well here jeannette.....lol...everything seems to grow...i think i have about an 80% survival rate on the 'pruned and planted' plants....not bad jeannette! ❤️

Well this was a delightful walk! So many fruit trees! Thank you for explaining about the trimmed branches at the base of the transplants. I had been wondering as you walked along. Every day in your food forest must bring you joy.

prune...plant...put sticks and leaves around the new transplants and wait for the rain...that is about it deborah! lol...we did buy some plants from a local...coffee...passion fruit...cacao...we will fill up that food forest for sure!

@@lorrimarie2002 , Walking, running…purely scientifically, the benefits are almost indistinguishable. Body and brain thrive on motion, regardless of how gazelle-like that motion appears. (In my case, picture a huge wad of wet paper rolling down a steep hill, banging into cars and garbage bins…)

@@lorrimarie2002 I mean to say I’m poor company. I’ve lost discipline and, therefore, my way. I’m studying the problem, and find agreement with the proposition that discipline = resolve, an emotion, and the counter or opposite of resolve is doubt. Doubt is the devil on the shoulder, whispering, for example, “is lowering your cholesterol really worth giving up dessert?” or, for a more extreme example, “Is a forgotten or unknown way of living worth giving up heroin?” Maybe that’s why dramatic health events - a cancer scare, a cardiac arrest, etc. - sometimes leads to greater adherence with healthier personal habits. The incident helps to remove doubt, thereby strengthening resolve. Given time I hope I’ll be able to see friends again, be able contribute something, and not be an emotional black hole. Besides that, for now, Steve and I are taking Wendy hither and yon to help keep her as engaged and active as possible, as it is one of the few demonstrable ways to slow Alzheimer’s. We’re doing this…well, we are doing it with only each other to validate the entire enterprise. Pulling her out of her isolation in a retirement community, bringing her to San Francisco, everything we’ve done…has received not a word of encouragement or even, I have to say, acknowledgment from literally anyone else in his family. The impression (unstated - nothing is ever discussed or even open for discussion) I’m left with is that we should have left her where she was, it was settled, no one had to think about the problem anymore. Steve’s dad and step mom will go out to lunch with Steve, ask him how he’s doing, and actually talk over his replies. It is infuriating. He would so benefit from even an acknowledgment of his efforts. But the sole person on Earth in his corner is me.
