Looks good my bro! I have the exact same car. 2017 pearl gray CVT. I like what you’ve done with it so far. That borla exhaust sounds real good. I decided to go with the greddy exhaust for the price, makes a huge diff in sound. I also added the intake and strut. I tuned my CVT using ktuner, it’s a lot more fun to drive now. I’m the guy with the duckbill spoiler and straight mesh grille (no badge). I also added the OEM red Honda badge to the rear. I know what you mean by it being a little flashy on the color but whatever it still looks good. Thinking about doing some brakes/rotors and caliper covers to help out my aftermarket wheels

Great video! I’ve just bought a MY2018 from a second hand dealership that sells end-of-lease GM cars. They didn’t know much about Honda. I was very surprised to see a Sport Touring hatch with a CVT and the 1.5L, but with the Type R wing, red badges front, rear, on rims and inside - and also “Type S” and Mugen badges and even carpets. Judging from the testdrive, it seems stock though. They’ll deliver it this month, really excited! Just like with yours, I know it’s not a Type R, but I also love the looks. Stay awesome!

Your Strut bar brace looks like a SiriMoto I just install mine on my new 2020 Polished metal metallic hatchback about a month ago and it does make a nice difference, my next upgrade to install is the SiriMoto short throw shift kit and the Perrin cable tie down for my 6 spd which are currently sitting in my garage. Next will be to tint the windows and the smoked side markers then off to get the SiriMoto Rad Subframe Suspension Kit and SiriMoto Phase 2 Sway Bar Upgrade Kit along with a mesh grill insert and the Type R wing just because I like the way they look and an ARK exhaust system. After that's completed engine mods will get started. Guess my wife should have let me get the Type R to begin with. Happy Modding

Well dude I'm just waiting now, got drunk and don't spend money on myself, ordered 4 grand in mods and yes the ARK exhaust was ordered and in garage now waiting on 27won parts CAI, Turbo pipe, FMIC, and Siri Moto W brace, sway bar and Hondata from procivic, Along with a Honey comb grill still need to get BAA skid plate as the stock sucks ass. Next oil change those guys are going to shit them selfs when this rolls in.😂 Thanks for the videos got this 47yr old feeling 27 again.

Hey man, my base model lx was totaled in a hit and run so now I’m going to be getting a hatchback sport soon hopefully. Your build is exactly how I want mines to look. The wing everything is perfect for me. I’m new to the 1.5L motor so what exhaust set up would be the best thing for the hatchback sport? Probably going to get the exhaust fixed the first week I get the car

Cool deal man, if I had to re-choose my exhaust... I’d probably go with the greddy one. I’ve never had any issues with my borla s-type though 👍🏼. They cost around 800, and I believe the greddy is slightly more expensive. It’s not too loud, which is good considering they sound rough straight piped or cats removed.

My 2018 Civic 6MT was recently totaled. Same color and everything! I even fully detailed it the day before.... Drunk Driving is dumb! Yes, drunk driver hit me and the car took the hit like a champ - $20+K in damage but I walked away. Insurance wrote it off and now I'm the proud owner of a 2021 model white in color - Mods yet to come to this one!

Bro I cannot agree more about the wing, I don't see why people have to get so uppity about liking a wing on a vehicle. The Type R wing looks so freakin nice and even though mine isn't a "real" Type R who cares. Heaven forbid you like an aesthetic. I kinda get the red badging as I've never done that but even then like... does it really matter. Great video though man, build looks clean even though its 3 years ago.

Don’t let people talk you out of doing what you think would look good on your car. You should always mod to your preferences, regardless of what everyone else thinks 🤟🏼. It’s been so long since I’ve bought the parts, but the wing came from absdynamics.com, strut bar and grille from procivic, aero from aeroflow dynamics and downforce solutions, exhaust (I forgot) and intake I’m not sure either. Hope this helps!

Never had a problem with that, but I’m on coilovers now

I have the exl in this color. My exhaust is different due to the model, obviously, but i put a front lip and it made a huge difference. It makes up for the exhaust lol

Mine was like the legit metal splitter, but I talked about it in another video on what happened. Basically the way the front end on our cars is put together caused the lip to rip my stock lip down with the splitter and slam the ground doing like 90 on the interstate...

I currently have a hatch sport in the Sonic Gray on order, just waiting for it to arrive at the dealer. I see a lot of guys doing the red for an accent color, but I'm wondering if blue or even orange would work with that paint?

Niche misano. I didn’t have to put camber kits on the car considering I didn’t dump it. You basically need camber adjustment when you start going really low because the lower you go the more natural camber you get. Your stock adjustments can only go so far. Peep my ek hatch videos and suspension stuff for reference, only difference is I added camber lol!

Do u rub at all with the springs? Did u keep your stock shocks or upgrade them? Im trying to decide between springs and coilovers

They keep the stock strut and add a shorter and stiffer spring. I’d say just spend the money and buy some good coilovers tbh

I saw someone post on facebook marketplace them parting out a totaled 2017 honda civic type r fk8 for $600 and the wing seems to have no damage. so I had two questions I was hoping you could help me out on! do you think that wing would look okay on my 2020 honda civic hatchback sport touring? I have the white one and his type r is also white & do you think $600 is a fair price for that wing?

If it’s the same white then yes, and I paid 2-300 for my wing and 300 to paint so maybe. Idk if the stock type r wings are better quality or not 🤔

Thanks brotha! I think the wing with shipping was about 300, paint from a friend was 300, install was about 75 if I remember correctly. The only solid number there is the initial cost of the wing..... I’m not sure what your local people would charge 😳

Me too. Absolutely love these cars. I've got 106000 on mine and no problems. Just a heads up dont buy spark plugs of the internet. They are selling counterfeit ngk plugs. I had one crack on me. Besides that no problems at all.

As long as the lug pattern is 5x114.3 you’re good with any wheel you choose. I ran my stock tires stretched on a 9.5 wide wheel

Hey buddy got a question again. That type r spoiler did u get is from abs dynamics? Also I see that the 17-21 year spoiler is sold out but the 17-18 spoiler isn’t. Will this 17-18 spoiler fit my 19 civic hatch Sport trim?

I don’t see why it wouldn’t, they didn’t change the body styles until recently. But yeah mines the abs dynamics, but I bought it in 2018z

this is so sick who needs a type r. put on a k tuner, rims, bucket seats and spoiler and bammmm!!! type r with half the cost, lower insurance and property taxes.

Sheldon's Place Thanks man! Yeah, honestly I enjoy the car for what it is. Of course the type r would be cool, but it’s unnecessary for what I use my car for. It’s all about having fun and enjoying it. I’ve put a good bit of money into that car, but I won’t say I’m “finished” with the build. I’ll be doing more eventually and changing things up!

No offense dude, but all that stuff isn’t a half price Type R. The amount of engineering that went behind the chassis, suspension, brakes, engine, aerodynamics, etc. is just unbeatable. But ofc its your car and you can do whatever you want to it :D

Socko good point but not everyone can drop 40 k for a type r. I say to each own what makes a man happy. I am done paying for my si I am happy and still put money towards my house.

Where you buy the rear splitter?

Nice car dude! Tastefully done mods. I like that rear diffuser tho. What version is that? Ive seen similar diffusers where the fins are too big for my liking.

I don’t remember exactly which one but it’s either the v1 or v2 from downforce solutions for the sport. It’s a little bit more subtle than the others for sure. And nice profile pic, Hollywood Undead has always been a fav 🤙🏼

Dope ride man. Not overly done. May I ask where you got your wing spoiler from? Having a hard time finding a reliable review considering how many cheap replicas are out there in the market. How’s your drive with the spoiler especially at high speeds? Vibration level and all? Thanks in advance.

Thankyou man! I ordered it from ABS Dynamics a long time ago. Idk if they still have the same one or what on the website though. The wing vibrates a little but nothing too serious. Tbh it’s been on since October of 2018 and it’s just now getting to the point to where I need to tighten it up at the mounting spot, so it’s held up well. Hope that helps brotha! How did you fit that rear spoiler on your car? I got the civic 1.5vtec sport and I can't work out how you did it unless you added more holes

The wing I have only requires you to drill 2 holes on each side. We utilized some of the stock holes in the trunk under the plastics for the install. I believe we had to drill one hole out as well. I’m not 100% sure because I installed it over 2-3 years ago.

Yo I just got this exact model for my first car and I dont know much about cars but I really like your build, I want one of my first mods to be either a straight pipe or a muffler delete. What do you recommend?

Idk if I’d straight pipe it lol, maybe try a resonator delete and go from there if you don’t like the sound. Or just an exhaust change. First mods are whatever you’re comfortable with though. My first mod was window visors!

Does lowering do any damage to the car overtime? What are the cons ?

It depends on how low you go to be honest. So basically lowering the car more makes it harder to drive certain places lol. Crossing railroad tracks, driving over speed bumps, driving into certain parking lots, and even hitting dead animals and dragging them are all examples of minor inconveniences with lowering. My ek hatch for instance is super low, but my headers are really the only thing that hits and occasionally my front bumper. Worst case scenario would be I bust my oil pan. That’s why you don’t want to cheap out on suspension, have good spring rates, dampening, etc. Another aspect is that it puts a lot of things in a bind and shortens the life span of parts like your ball joints, axles, tire tread with camber, etc. (again this is mainly for excessive lowering and camber mainly). I know I’m all over the place with my points, sorry about that. But really the only issues are scraping (which isn’t horrible unless you’re really low and scraping through your subframe), busted oil pans (may not ever happen), and just other little minor inconveniences tbh. At the end of the day it’s all about what you want for your car. Personally, I never lowered my 10th gen more because when stuff breaks... it’s expensive to fix. My older car can scrape and break all it wants because at the end of the day it’s old, fun, and cheap to maintain! Hopefully this helped a bit... I tried
