My Macrame Bassinet Project

Hey you! Thank you for being here! Before you try to make yourself a Macrame Bassinet please watch this video all the way through. Please know that this is NOT a tutorial. I don’t want anyone upset about “not giving enough info” I just filmed the process of me creating this bassinet. I had NO pattern and made it up as I went.
I used 3 spools of 4mm 3ply cotton rope. You can find it on my website HolmMadeMacrame.com
Please note that you can use 2 if you do a more simple design and make the bassinet less deep.
The copper pipe I got from Home Depot along with the wooden base I had cut there.
If you try making this or a similar bassinet please make SURE to hang it in a stud in your ceiling and make sure the four straps coming down are secure.
Never leave your baby unattended. For the mattress inside I ordered a custom FLAT bassinet mattress from Etsy. In this video you’ll see a DocATot inside the bassinet. I don’t recommend using one for inside. I used it to take a few videos and he lays in it while I supervised him.

I Love what you’ve done with this bassinet, I’m thinking about making my own! If I cut my straps at the length you mentioned (11 ½ ft) what measurement do the straps end up being? From ring to poll. Also what depth do you recommend for the bassinet as you said yours is still to deep!

I'm here from TikTok...SO GLAD I found your channel because I just bought a house, daydreaming about hanging plants in macramé hangers AND I loved the bassinet that Juby did on Justin & Juby (KZread) but she doesn't teach it. My daughter is pregnant with my 1st grandchild. I would love to make it for her. Here's the thing, I've never macreméd anything before 😳 Should be interesting....I mean it's only rope & knots, right?

I'd love to try this for my son and wife as soon as I hear their pregnant. Instead of using copper tubes for the top, do you think I could use thin pvc tubes? Beautiful!

I’m planning to use electrical conduit. I love copper but it’s a lot more expensive and you won’t be able to see it so defeats the purpose in my opinion.

@@cbear9574 After looking more into it I think I will use 3/4 inch pvc pipping. I have a piece here and I think It will hold up well as it’s pretty strong and durable. But it’s cheaper and lighter in weight.
