I remember your first video after you bought this car. Since then, I lost my dad, moved 1000 miles to another city, lost a pet, moved back home, lost my mom, lost a dear friend to cancer, and lost another pet just recently. And today, you made my day with this video. Man you are on another level. Not only swapping the engine and trans out, but keeping the ac/heater, windshield wash, and all the things others would have deleted. Well done and congrats on an excellent job. I'll be watching to see how the body comes along. I'm currently saving an old Audi A6 and you are an inspiration Matt 🤗.

This channel is amazing, the knowledge and skills on display are rare and the way Matt just gets it done is impressive. My ONLY gripe with this channel is I wish there was more uploads per month, and a slightly bigger work space. It’s too bad creators like Matt weren’t paid enough to make this full time like all the other automotive nonsense on KZread. Either way I can’t wait for more Tahoe and Escalade content, I love F-bodies but I’m more of a truck and suv guy.

If you haven’t checked this already, check to see that you have enough slack in the front brake hoses when steering is at full lock, if they are binding or pinched off, that could explain your loss of brake pedal when turning. Hope this helps or hope you have sorted this out by now.

This is why I’ve been sitting on one of those Volvo pumps for 2 months and haven’t installed it. Every other KZreadr I’ve seen install them ends up complaining about them a few videos later. Because of my twin turbo setup the only place I have to put it in under/behind a headlight since my twin turbo fender exits prevent me from mounting it where you did and that would require alot of cutting on the rad support directly behind the headlight. I think your negative feedback just finalized my decision to skip the power steering, sell all the parts I bought, and just goto a manual pinto rack.

It’s cammed but the lunging at crawling speeds, how it shifts when I don’t want it too and how it doesn’t shift when I’d like it too, idk man. I just fight with it all the time. I’ve heard it’s one of the hardest transmissions to tune correctly. Awesome video. Can’t wait to see the final build. Been here for many years and looking forward to many more.

Apparently the tuning on these gen 5’s is a completely different animal. Everything is torque based so once you start modifying the engine the torque tables need to be changed. I went wot with it for the first time and the pedal is commanding 100% but the tps is only at 60%

“Ima be honest there’s probably one dude who’s watching this video punching the air and saying why did he put an ls engine into this car he should’ve kept the original engine in the car”, those people can’t see past their own ego to think hey maybe the original engine was blown, or maybe he wants a decently reliable engine that can make power and take boost without much issues the only time you’ll really have issues is when you start making more power than what the stock internals can take along with the transmission.
