Every time i hear & see a mention of Spiral Knights i get this nostalgic bitter-sweet emotion in my heart. i can't let go of this Titles' Soundtrack, it's unique artstyle, characters, world & atmosphere. To think.. some of us came here for a little TF2 hat, but found a new adventure calling

Spiral Knights has such a novel approach to the archetypical "knightly" theme, that I wish there were more games like it. Push comes to shove and now I'm studying game design. Maybe reality is just a series of conscious mental constructs and I'll make another one, just like SK or better.

I Love spiral knights to death, but to be honest, the best thing that can happen to spiral knights is the day that it dies. So long as Grey Havens keeps ahold of it, Spiral knights will never grow or become better. People in the community tried to optimize the game and create new content for it, but they got shut down via DMCA (on SK's anniversary too!!), leaving SK in this state of limbo that we so desperately don't want it to be in.

I'll never forget this game, the memories, the times where I used to spend time in the haven with friends just sitting and talking, searching the auction house for items dropped by users for a cheap price, running endless vanaduke runs with the clan, being hyped about saving for high end gear, I wish this game gets a reboot. There's not a single game out there that looks like it.

Will always remember this game, it was such a vibe back when I was in highschool, the music and art were great and the gameplay, though simple was fun still Was a BIG inspiration for my own art growing up, so seeing Spiral Knights always makes a smile form on my face

4:45 Not just wanting it to thrive, but knowing it COULD have if only it had been given the chance. I love Spiral Knights to death; the art, music, simple gameplay, just everything... and I'm glad I stumbled across another video about the game I still hold dear. Spiral Knights is where I met people who would become my closest friends for many years, and ironically, it's lack of a very prominent story at first inspired me to write my own for the game. When they finally introduced the story missions, I rewrote my story to run parallel to the game, and rewrote the first 20-40 pages about 4 times before, much like development on the game, I just stopped creating anything new. Starting from about a year ago, though, I've now got a novel I'm publishing weekly chapters for based on some what-ifs, including self-inserts of me and my friends' knights, and reimagining the world and story to be more coherent and comprehensive. I hope to keep writing to give it a proper ending that the game never got. And next month, I'm set to graduate with a degree dedicated to Creative Writing, and I have Spiral Knights to thank for putting me on that path.

@@snarblox I appreciate it! I'd love to be able to publish my SK story as a full-fledged series spanning multiple books, but considering Grey Haven's past actions and unwillingness to give SK life in any fashion, I'm worried Spiral Knights: Project R will just be a standalone fanfic/novel for a niche part of the internet to enjoy. As long as people enjoy it tho, that's about as much as an author can ask for

Found out about the game through a random side ad on a website I think. My 7-year old mind was astonished by the lovely art so I clicked it. Probably the best thing that could happen to SK now is, and I say this knowing that it could totally go bad, is some kind of fan remake - think something like Toontown Rewritten or the multiple Phantasy Star Online 1 fan servers. It's one of those games with a small but quite dedicated community who I believe, given the chance, would probably start making their own content! After all, the story isn't over yet - we never got a proper ending. Also, I am in the exact same camp as you: playing this game for the first time as a kid has sort of single-handedly shaped my preferences with aesthetics and art in games, and the potential of the lore and world are so enrapturing I keep coming back to write about my ideas for things set in the world. So, if there ever is a fan continuation, I'd love to be on the writing team. Great video! I'm glad to see people haven't forgotten this game - that seems to unite most SK fans: they really like this game nobody cares about anymore.

Hey there! We get the same feeling about the game, the atmosphere, the music, the cool designs. I had the luck of doing Dauntless Delver in 2012 while using an Elevator Pass. Remember that achievement would require around 300~ energy to complete at that time. I got all the achievements by around 2015 I believe, since I never cared about the trinket slots and such. Also OGs would remember the achievements about reviving a teammate with half a heart. :D I am still playing it time-to-time, trying to do new sets as Bomber or Gunslingers. Replay older missions instead of just farming FSC. We all know that it is just matter of time that one day we will receive a message while trying to log-in about the server closure.

This game was a big part of my childhood in terms of MMOs, I loved the sense of wonder and mystique it had when you were new to it and you slowly worked your way down to the deepest levels. I hate to see the state it's in nowadays but I guess that's just how these type of games eventually end up as. I do hope that one day, we can get a sequel that gives it new life.

I remember back in 2018 when I first started playing Team Fortress 2. In my crave for the remaining free hats I discovered the Spiral Sallet. I downloaded Spiral Knights immediately and, without realizing, I was grinding ranks beyond the achievement I needed for the hat. I was captivated by the game's beauty, its intriguing lore, the amazing soundtrack. While looking at the Steam reviews I found some curious wise words from a user: _"We came for the hat, but we left with something heavier in our heads."_ I love this game. If it only was released in Switch perhaps Spiral Knights may have a second chance to shine as the game always deserved.

spiral knight was such a great time for my young brain, not only a fan of sega and sonic already at the time, but once I saw the characters design I was amazed. specially the in game ones, they look so nice and well, this was the first mmo I played, the first game with 3d models (and they looked amazing for the time) I loved the world design, I loved the roguelike-esque dungeons, (I loved it not being a huge boring openworld in if you walk around too much you get lost or waste time due to all the quests being far away as opposed to other mmos) always wished more for spiral knights tbh. I hope this does get remade by a indie dev group or something. thanks for the video

I think steam numbers are a bit misleading in regards of popularity. I was in the same boat as you, played it without steam for a while. Congrats on 100%. I have two achievements left, but they are the equipment slot ones. I miss the days where you could share your health bars to revive your friends in the middle of an intense battle. Sharing that last bar, everyone losing their minds...

I played this game on kongregate back in 2011 and returned to it in 2015 on steam, it has such a unique story + artstyle (I love cherub's artwork and design choices so much lol). Granted I still haven't 100%'d it, but I guess it's time for me to cut away at some rank/prestige missions :)

Man I played this the year it came out, I really miss this game, I come back to it time to time. The aesthetic of the game, artstyle, ost, the feel of it all is just unmatched imo. Since I was a kid I always had a goal to make my own game inspired by this game so I can actually have something to play that has that same feel since SK stopped being updated. Now that I'm an adult and I realize how hard everything is, I've given up on that dream of course. x) Now I just hope in the future, private servers will work out and the host can add their own content or something, maybe even the actual ending to the game and the final boss that's in the game files. But also it's just the very simple things that I like about the game, like the feeling of running into a tile full of boxes and shield bashing through them all, hearing the satisfying sound of them popping and the loot pickup sound, if I were to ever pick up that previous dream again, that's definitely a requirement for the game. For now the most I can do is make remixes of the songs I like the most from the game. (which is most)

i picked up spiral knights in late 2011, on steam, mostly for the tf2 hat but also because it was one of the few actually half-decent f2p titles on steam at the time. since then, i've logged almost 3000 hours into it. this game makes up a considerable part of who i am as a person and i will always be grateful for that

The whole feel of the game is so unique and special, I really hope it can someday get a resurgence! Maybe a reboot! ;w; I would love for Spiral Knights to get a second chance, either way, it's so special! Thank you again for sharing! ^^ And I just read the description, and, while I haven't watched your videos before this one, yet, I do really like the style of this video, personally! ^^ ALSO Thank you for listing the music in the description, I really appreciate that, I literally just heard a cool track (2 now, while writing this XD) and checked the description hoping the names were there and they were! im so glad this video exists genuinely i started playing sk when it released and i was like 7 years old, was probably babys first introduction to online games before even any virtual worlds like animal jam or club penguin. completely obssessed with it for yearsssssss, this game shaped my taste in so many things, from art style to character design to music to gameplay. i saw it go through pretty much all its major changes until around 2014 when i stopped playing for a bit shortly before the tortodrones event. as a side note i was obssessed with the tortodrones so that was a massive unlucky time to stop playing. i recently got back to it just yesterday (at the time of writing) and even if it is very small (and just as laggy as it was 10+ years ago) its still so much fun and i love it. im so glad to know this community still exists and loves the game as much as i do

I've made my own saying , it goes like : Whenever is something enjoyable, good or at least liked by some smaller group of people or community, overtime it will fade away , dissapear, vanish and likely replaced by something different that is not so good.
