I never usually put comments on videos or even watch them to the end, but your's I did. Very enjoyable video and is helping me prepare for when I get mine delivered in 6 weeks time. Service book info (which I didn't know) was particulary useful and I have now ordered a generic one online. It seems that they want to lock you into always going to a main dealer for servicing, which sucks as I have a great independent garage already. Obviously, the first few years I will go to the main dealers. Also, the fact that the old people apologised is good, but sad that they assumed the worst of you in the first place. Seems to be how things are these days. Again, thanks :)

Brill that sounds like it is worth it if there is something physical you get for your money. Big thing for me was the tech pack. The grips are expensive though considering you can get aftermarket for half the price. Thanks for comment and view very much appreciated. Enjoy the bike 👍🏻👍🏻

As a suggestion, I would wire your Sat Nav into the ACC2 connection, it’s pretty easy to do and the connection is just behind the fairing. If I remember rightly on the right side. Short job but at least it will power on and off with the bike and less likely to drain anything. 👍

I’ve looked at some vids regarding removing the panels don’t you have to strip the bike significantly? I’ve been looking at the canbus easican that plugs into the diagnostic feed as these are pretty easy to fit 👍🏻

The 12v to 5v transformer is drawing power all the time if it isn't on an ignition live, if it draws say 0.1A out of a 20AH battery (I don't know the capacity of yours) it will deplete it in 200 hrs or just over 8 days. Oh and don't worry about the servicing as you'll have a new one come summer 😁

I felt that the battery on my 22 SDGT was a bit weak at times despite being on a charger when not in use , so i put a lithium one on and its been brilliant, holds full charge for weeks even when not on the ( dedicated lithium) charger and spins the motor over on starting great, smaller and lighter too.

What are a decent 60/40 tyre for the adventure S. these I’ve got on performed well in the lakes. I did have the anakee wilds on the gs and thought they were a good tyre. Cheers 👍🏻👍🏻

For info, I’ve had my KTM 1290 SAR since 2022, done over 20k miles and never had any issues with the battery, sometimes it’s left for a couple of weeks and it always start perfect, if the bikes new I would get it checked as it sounds like it could be faulty and not holding the voltage. Either that or somethings draining it from a third party add on. 👍

Take a look at the optimate duo 1 maintenance charger, these are smart units designed to keep the bike battery full and once it is in top condition the charger will just check the battery and if its dropped in voltage it will feed it a small current to restore it to 100% purpose built to be left connected

In case it's of use to you. 1. Service books are virtually a thing of the past and I agree, it's BS - you want to keep that history!! You can buy books for cars, I'd do the same for a bike (or make one if I had to!!), if my bike didn't come with one and insist the dealer stamp it at every service!! 2. Most modern bikes will flatten their battery after no more than a couple of weeks of non-use...it's rubbish!! My MT10 can do that in a week. A "trickle charger" IS the solution, but make sure you have one which "conditions" the battery and actually stops charging for a while and puts load on the battery to discharge it from time to time (the Optimate I think does this, I use the Ctek range on cars and bikes and this deffo does that). My MT10 lives on a Ctek and it's 6 years old now and going strong on the OE battery! 3. My mate with a 2020 AdvS has had battery (and starting problems) including the ECU shitting itself in high heat (30+ degC), with repeated starting getting onto the chunnel which resulted in a battery disconnect to "fix" (it wouldn't start at all). My mate resolved this by adding a second small lithium battery in parallel with a solenoid so that it's only employed during starting the bike! If the ECU voltage drops too much when starting the bike, it can shit itself - this is a good aftermarket solution to that problem. 4. The rear shock electronics sometimes "forget" where in the stroke the shock is, the fix is to turn the bike off, fully unload the rear and whilst it's like that, turn it back on. 5. You didn't mention it but, the clutch slave cylinder can fail on all and ANY KTM (it's happened twice to my mate across multiple AdvS models (including the new ones)). Get an Oberon one now, before the OE one fails at an inconvenient moment.. ;) (they look good too, and they are not very expensive). HTH! :)
