My life as the unwanted child, abuse by my uncle, navigating life to finding myself | Lydia Wanjiru

When Lydia’s uncle abused her, the whole family knew but their biggest concern was keeping the secret in the family and making sure the outside world knew nothing about it.
They would also later make Lydia the maid of the extended family, put her through hell and make sure she never belonged
Her life as an orphan would break her but later on, she found her way and she is still here. Still rising and still thriving
So, how did she rebuild her life
Here is Lynn Ngugi with today’s episode of LNS Rebuilding series

    She is such a strong lady. I was raised by my mum's sister and that woman and her children were God sent, I even forgot I was an orphan 😂😂😂😂. The love, the care I remember in high school I used to have extra shopping new uniforms every term and my school fees was paid per year in advance. Though she passed on I still feel the love from my cousins, I really thank God for them.

    I don't why it's so hard for people to understand that kids shouldn't be treated in a bad way coz they don't choose to be born as "unwanted" I wish people would get to understand this simple concept. No child is unwanted and every child is a gift from God and some hold destinies for those who mistreat them like we always see from the story of Joseph in the bible. Lydia you're so real! You will do great! My favorite part of this story is your high school teacher turned mom (Lois). May God bless her left and right. May her children always find help whenever they need it. I grew up as the scapegoat in a narcissistic family dynamic, the black sheep, unloved by single mom. But the joy of the Lord is my strength.

  • @florencemuchoki3009

    @florencemuchoki3009

    Very well put. No child asks for their parents to die or neglect them. Better still no child goes asking to be raised, they are children, they find themselves and live through whatever it is they find themselves in. I have not heard a parent tell their children to go thank them for raising them. Because being a parent to a child is a responsibility and not a favour to the child. So for those raising children that are not theirs,do it whole heartedly expecting nothing in return than the blessings of God.

    Sorry for the typos. The lawyer needs to be emotionally intelligent. Her legal knowledge and analysis was not called for. Lydia you are a winner and you will go beyond your past. I am glad that you have set firm and clear boundaries to those people who hurt you. Which is a lesson to everyone dealing with toxic relatives and friends. ❤️💕

    What a an intellectual lady. Yes, school is important because we have to be learned but educated people like Lydia are not that common in the current world. The knowledge, attitude, values and skills she has are taking her places. The sky is the limit and the so called graduates will be part of her staff. TRUST ME, SHE IS A CHILD OF GOD. As adults we need to make conscious decisions on who and what we choose to associate with. Toxic relationships are the number one cause of negative mental health. So I agree with you 100 % that those relatives should maintain a reasonable distance from you and be steadfast with that. Keep on holding to God and "throw your anxiety on him because he CARES for you" - 1 Peter 5:7 Thanks Lynn once again :)

    Traumatized kids need a biiiiiig hug. Watching this channel reminds me am not alone. It was never easy to put up with all the distress and trauma growing up. Who knew when one grows up instead of forgetting the pain , it becomes a thorn in the flesh and triggers keep one reliving the pain every time they happen. Thanks @Lynn for putting this together.

    Hugs to Lydia my fellow orphan. Watching this episode took me back to my childhood. Toxicity from relatives n friends is real. If you can't take care of orphans just let them go rather than give them traumas coz loosing parents is already so painful for them. The building and rebuilding journey is difficult but not impossible. Lydia you're going far.

A challenge to everyone of us,strive to be better humans. One day I asked someone why they were so kind to some kids who had lost their parents,her response sunk deep,she said she has always strived to be better cos she knows if one day she died and God allowed them to see how their kids were being treated here on earth, they'd only want to see them treated kindly. I feel it's a worth challenge
