My life and Kingdom Hearts (happy 20th anniversary!)

Ойындар

This game is so so special to me.
I hope you enjoyed me taking a trip down memory lane and also reacting to some old cringy videos of me. It's so crazy to see how much has happened for Kingdom Hearts over the years. I can't see where we are going next. April 10th couldn't come any sooner.
Happy 20th!

I just remember a lot of commercials of kingdom hearts specifically for the ds on disney channel and thought it looked so cool. I even saw some trailers and cutscenes from playstation and thought the game was incredible. I just had to play it, I only had a ds and saved my money and got recoded when I was 10 I think. It's funny because I didnt know what version to get because there was 3, and i wanted it to make sense, lol but it didnt. I still thought the series was incredible and tried to catch up by watching cutscenes. I didn't have a playstation so there was no way for me to play but I was a huge fan, my mom was against consoles on the tv. Flash forward to now I have a gaming laptop and bought the collection, and the 358/2 days for ds and fell in love even more. I finally got to play the game to its fullest that I never got to in my childhood. Especially 358. I cried when sora got announced in smash. Its also crazy to think I'm like 1 month older than KH. Kh was like a therapy for me when I was young because I got bullied so much, its the only game besides pokemon that i feel so deeply for.

I've been a lifelong Disney fan, and one day in November 2002, my brother asked me if I had heard of the new game Kingdom Hearts. I actually hadn't because during my teen years, I was obsessing over boybands and wrestling too much to notice anything else at the time lol. So he told me it was a Disney game. He showed me a little bit of it where he was in Neverland and then told me I could use his PS2 and a different save file to play. I ended up loving it so much he just let me keep the game and the PS2, and the rest is history 😌

You are the most adorable and wholesome Kingdom Hearts fan in the universe! This whole video made me smile a lot. I probably sound like a broken record at this point, but I'm going to tell you again anyway. I'm very thankful I came across your channel after KH3 was released. I've never really had friends or have known people who love Kingdom Hearts on the deep, passionate level that I do, so finding your channel and coming to your Twitch streams has been wonderful, because I found somebody I can relate to with how much I love this franchise (and other games!). I've loved KH since the very beginning when I was a wee little 17 year old, but only began to immerse myself into the online fandom with the KH3 hype. I don't feel alone anymore. Thank you for being a radiant light in this fandom, Sarah! Happy 20th to this magical series ♥

One crazy thing I noticed about the kh1 teaser trailer was that it hinted at Sora disappearing like in kh3. It's crazy to me that Nomura doesn't really seem to let go of concepts he's thought up over the years. He just repurposes them.

I've mentioned this to you on twitter back then but when you said "even when i'm 90 years old" it made me think back to the adorable old lady I ran into after the kingdom hearts orchestra concert. She was the same age as my mom (64) and as I was heading back to my hotel room, she came up to me to talk about the concert and her memories with the games. She had a mickey mouse watch and even knew the may your heart be your guiding key lingo and everything and was so sweet. Heck I even met a middle age guy at my old bagger job at Kroger(instantly regretted the job) who had this sick kingdom hearts body tattoo, seeing people you'd never expect to be into the series is so great.

I was 13 years old when KH1 came out. I first got interested in playing the game when I saw a GamePro article prior to the game’s release. All I knew about it was that it was going to be a crossover between Disney and Final Fantasy and that was enough to make me interested. The trailers just reinforced my interest. I absolutely loved the game but what really cemented the idea that I was always going to follow the series to the end… was THAT FREAKING SECRET ENDING. I thought “Another Side, Another Story” was just the coolest thing ever. The game touched both action-lover in me and the classic Disney fan in me at the same time. From that point on, I played every single game in the series(except for a few of the hard-to-find ones like the V-Cast game and the original KHX). In fact, I might be one of about 5 or so people who actually played Chain of Memories… multiplayer. Yes, CoM on GBA had link cable multiplayer and I actually played it with my friend.

I will never forget the day my mum got me KH for christmas and my smol child brain was completely fried seeing my 2 favorite things combined: Final Fantasy and Disney Playing through KH 1 back then was such a blast. The memories people talk about when they played the OG Legend of Zelda on the NES with the golden cartridge being like some treasure to carry over to a friends house, that's how i felt with that shiny game box of KH 1 which i thankfully still own to this very day. I sadly don't have so much time to follow all of your streams anymore but having found your channel like 4 or 5 years ago was one of the biggest things i am thankful for to KH and Nomura. You're one of the most genuine content creators of our time and the probably most wholesome one let's be honest :D I hope that we will both have many many more amazing KH years and anniversarys ahead of us and that you stay awesome the way you always have been!

I came into this fandom, in late 2003-early 2004 about. Back then, during my high school years, I was really depressed, like severely, and often felt very alone a lot as I had so few friends and anxiety issues. I was at an old friends' house when I was 15 and she pulled out the *Kingdom Hearts* game and put it on her PS2. I found myself rather enraptured by it and eventually, I managed to borrow a copy of KH from another friend.. and I was so amazed at the storytelling, the aesthetic, the design, everything! I was sad when I finished playing this game and beat it, but this game, it really, as you had put it in the video, Sarah, "it was there for me" when I played it. Sora's character really spoke to me because he would've been someone I would love to have been best friends with, as I had yearned to be close to a friend for a very long time. I just loved him so much and this game as a whole. Cut to 2005 and to my absolute excitement, Kingdom Hearts 2 finally dropped!! I started to rent it from the local Hastings we had in town and rented it literally every weekend to play it. I even sat up really late on school nights playing it and I got in trouble xD. When my birthday came around that year, I finally got gifted a copy of KH2 for my PS2 and I could not have been any happier. I will tell you, When I had started to rent this game to play it, the very first time I turned it on and heard *Sanctuary* playing with the Intro Cinematic.. I knew right then and there, I would be a Kingdom Hearts fan for life. That Opening and song are both so incredibly iconic and nostalgic for me, it has forever been etched into my memory. Since then, I have been an avid Kingdom Hearts fan and I will likely be so, for the rest of my life. It was so heartwarming to see and hear and even feel, how deeply passionate you are for this game series and I am happy to know that you seem to love it so much, as much as I do and many of us other fans. I honestly believe, finding and playing this game back in high school, really helped me mentally and possibly kept me from doing things I would've ended up regretting. Also, no, I never beat Sephiroth in the first game, I tried xD (I was a terrible gamer tbh, I just kinda sucked at it LOL), but I did manage to beat him in KH2, despite it being on beginner mode. I have since gotten to be a semi-better gamer tho and I will go back one day and try to beat him on KH1 :P. Thank you for sharing your passion for this game series and being such a sweet, kind and caring youtuber ^_^. I'm happy I found your channel.

Visiting a friend and playing their copy with them was where I got into the game. I got up to Monstro, Along with the commercials. Recognized the disney gang, didn't know the final fantasy people were. I have remembered some early Kingdom Hearts 1, Chain of Memories GBA, and 358 days/2. I also still like to see those old interviews of Haley, David, Hayden , Brittney, Jessie, and other VAs do their interviews for Kingdom Hearts 2.

I remember I first played KH when I was about 9 with my cousin Kris. We just moved to West Virginia cause my grandma had a stroke and my mom was the only one that could take care of her. I played the heck outta the 1st one at my cousins house and asked for KH1 for Christmas. I got a copy of ReCoM instead and then eventually 1 and 2 on my birthday, which was KH themed and had a custom Sora cake. The best part is, I share my birthday with the game and didn't know til 3 years ago, so I technically celebrated my birthday and KH's. That game has carried me through times, places and phases in my life and has remained my favorite game series for 12 years. I turn 21 today and streamed a run of BBS and beat my record. I will never forget the franchise and want that game to resemble who I am. I love KH and always and forever will love it.

I don’t know if anyone remembers, but at Disneyland there was this things called Innoventions, where they debuted and kind of teased sci-fi futuristic type things and also like future games and things. (They had the coolest interior) I don’t know If this memory is real because I would have been 5 , but I swear I remember when we went as a family that year, to Disneyland, they had Kingdom Hearts as a playable demo at one of the booths, like a little intro thing, and this car with mini-tv screens in the seats, and a demo of a stitch game. From that moment on I was hooked, flash forward like two years and Me and my brother got it for Christmas. I was too young at first to play it so I would just watch him play, for hours. As we got lost in Atlantica, as We beat Sabor, and were both amazed and scared. We would stay up all night and play, and it was the best thing ever. Eventually I made friends where we would have pizza parties and try to beat Dark Riku, and cry to the amazing cut scenes. It’s now such an integral part of my existence, I just feel so grateful to this game for everything it’s done through the years. I’ve been obsessed with every game for years now, every birthday and Christmas I would ask for KH games when they came out, and even made a deal with my parents to buy me 358/2 days if I got straight A’s for a whole year. I would obsess over it and share with my cousins “how cool it is to actually play as Organization member. I still can’t believe this game actually exists. It’s my favorite, I love everything about this game series and honestly I found your channel and stuck around because you’re the only KH fan i’ve seen cry as much as me, aha. Your KH3 play through is my favorite I watch it a lot and reminisce about my play through and how long it’s been a part of my life. Also seriously you guuurl are insane! I loooove you to bits, literally! I am such a huuge fan of you. Had no idea about KH until last year, and now I can't imagine my life without it. I found you on YT after searching up game players doing KH. It's been a journey watching you and your videos has helped me a lot to watch later on. I was on a very rough and dark place when I found KH. It has helped me a lot to watch different people play this game, and you are one of those people that has helped a lot to get through with different things in my life. Whenever I felt low it was like being there with you. You were like a friend to me I could turn to if I felt sad. Watching it with you ❤️ Thank you for streaming and for sharing your journey and personal memories with us! I saw someone else doing a walkthrough/playthrough of the first game and that's how I found it. But that's not all, but anyway..... Seeing your reactions and joy with this game truly means a lot to me, cause I am very very very serious when it comes to who/whom?... I watch playing KH. When I feel lonely or sad I turned to this game, and I also have a special bond with this game as a whole. There are parts I can't watch or I struggle with watching because they remind me of certain things I also have gone through. It hits hard, but also in a good way as well! So seeing you being so honest helped me a lot! I just wanted to give a huuuuge SHOUTOUT TO YOU: SARAH 👏👏👏👏👏 ✨❤️🙏 THANK YOU FOR YOUR AWESOMENESS AND WHOLESOMENESS!!! KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO, and I'll always be here to support you no matter what you do, or decide to do! HAPPY 20TH KH ANNIVERSARY 🗝 👑❤️❤️ (Keyingdom Hearts)

I first heard about Kingdom Hearts through Dream Drop Distance via eshop back in 2012. But I wasn't fully invested in Kingdom Hearts until 2015 when Sonic games have been going downhill and Mario games have started to make me lose interest in the game. So as I was surfing on KZread, I stumbled on the Top 10 Final Bosses and I saw the Xemnas Final Fight and I was blown away by it. So I decided to look into Kingdom Hearts more and I end up becoming fully invested into the franchise. Tho I didn't get my hands on the mainline games until 2020 when I bought myself a PS4. But the first 2 games I played for Kingdom Hearts were Union X (not the best way to get into Kingdom Hearts), and Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. When watching Kingdom Hearts footages for the remainder of my high school years, it has helped me feel less lonely when I didn't have a particular friend that was more than willing to spend time with me on a regular basis. And it is still helping me go through some rough times to this day! And that is something that I am grateful for this franchise!

Thank you for sharing this story/journey with us. KH is such a special franchise for me as well. It's given me so many memories and helped form some strong friendships through going to cons and cosplaying. Riku will always be my favorite to cosplay and I just am so excited to see where the story goes next. Getting the Crown symbol tattooed on my shoulder meant a lot to me and i'm glad i have 2 of my all time favorite things (that and Nightwing, favorite superhero) a part of me.

I haven't played much of the Kingdom Hearts games only 3 really enjoy it haven't finished it yet but I do know most of what happens in 1&2. What I love about Kingdom Hearts is that it has the crazy idea of crossing over a version of the final fantasy world and Disney's worlds with new characters being the vocal point in the story. When it comes to new worlds based off their popularity I'm extremely surprised there hasn't been any Marvel or Star Wars world's in Kingdom Hearts yet, hopefully if there's a Kingdom Hearts 4 eventually they add a Marvel world and Star Wars world

I recently got into Kingdom Hearts when the games came to PC. My favorite titles were II, III and I due to the simple gameplay loops, and I watched the cutscenes for the other games. I wasn't exactly in a great place at the time, mentally. Following the journey of Sora and his friends brought light back into my life. The silly moments were as ridiculous as everybody said they would be ('Say fellas, did somebody mention the Door to Darkness?'), so I had no problems with taking them at face value. And I found reasons to take the genuinely deep moments at face value as well. "Well, there is one advantage to being me... Something you could never imitate." "What's that?" "Having you for a friend." "Then I guess...I'm okay the way I am. I've got something you could never imitate too."

KH queen! 💕 I got into KH when I was 13, I would've gotten it back in 2002 (I was 9), but I didn't have a PS2 back then... 4 years later I finally had one, saw the game randomly at a store and was instantly pulled back to 2002. The rest is history :) Followed every game since then! I also found you when you were Keybladesarah! ✨ Stay positive and awesome the way you are!

YAY!!!! Happy 20th Kingdom Hearts! I got into KH during my mid-teens, and it's become so important to me. It helped me realize that there's a bit of good and bad in everyone and that things aren't always what they seem, which has really helped me in life especially recently. I was so awkward and didn't have any friends until a few years ago when I made my first true friends, and we bond over Pokemon and Kingdom Hearts, which are my two favorite things ever! Both of those franchises have helped me through the darkest times in my life, struggling with autism, anxiety, and trauma...I constantly escape into the worlds of these franchises when the real world gets too stressful. When Sora got revealed for Smash, I put on my KH3 Sora hoodie, my Sora crown pendant, and grabbed my Keyblade and started spinning it around in my hands just like how Sora does, and I also couldn't stop quoting Sora that day...even when I went to the mall with my friends I wore my hoodie and pendant and the only things I could say were Sora quotes. My friends picked up on it quickly since we all wanted Sora in Smash for years and that was the only thing we talked about because it was the only thing I COULD talk about lol. Wow, 2021 was Pokemon's 25th anniversary and now 2022 is Kingdom Hearts' 20th anniversary! My two favorite things in the world have anniversaries one after the other, and that's so exciting for me!

I love these trips down memory lane! We were hyped when Kingdom Hearts was announced. I had already been a big final fantasy fan and was just finishing my first year of college. Kingdom hearts just scratched the right itch for us "anime kids" bringing these two worlds together. It was kind of mind blowing. I also remember an internet radio station called gaming FM where listeners could request songs, and Simple and Clean was played like 50% of the time 😂 some people were just obsessed!

When hearing your story about how you were introduced to the series, it brought back some memories of how I was totally that little kid going around to everyone saying "You've GOT to try Kingdom Hearts, it's so good, here, let me show you!" (though as I recall, I was way overbearing and annoyed a lot of kids that way). There's actually a few other stories you shared that reminded me of my own experiences too, like having to move out of state as a kid with no friends to share your interests with, along with the social challenges surrounding that.
