I love the rainbow and the full collection. I wouldn't be in a hurry to sell at all, unless you're going to put that money into one or two really rare and special Lebron RC's or really rare "Must Have" cards/inserts that you know will stand the test of time. I don't see these going down any time soon, so you're good with whatever you decide.

Is it worth the money and hassle to grade the lower end base cards?

I’d sell load on rookies to hold and use the rest to buy more low and sell high again. Modern is a flip game. Rarely does anyone sell at the top of the market. Better to slightly miss the apex and not hit the down turn.

Keep all of it, only sell some at title/MVP awards and hold for the retirement announcement/his own 'Last Dance'

The real first optic cards are the 16-17 with his cavs jersey. So technically those aren’t the first optic cards.

Man I regret selling his prizms this year was buying and flipping for double money

Sell the more expensive stuff now. Covid bubble will not last forever and a lot of the newer stuff will depreciate as new sets come out.. When live sports come back, people will also go back to chasing their whims and sinking money into fads while forgetting about proven talent. If you really love it, sell now and you can probably buy it back in a year for half the price.
