I think that you've got one of the most entertaining video series on Kei trucks. Simultaneously very real while also having some fun post production editing.

I actually like the look of the black handles. If you wanted I would hit it with a textured paint to hide the imperfections from the pitting in the metal. You should also paint the little wang looking hold downs black to really tie it all together.

Letting the cans warm up in the sun will help them flow better.

I use evapo rust all you have to do is take of any lose rust and dip your rusty parts in a bucket of the evapo rust , leave it for a couple of hours go have lunch or work on some other part of the truck. Then take it out rinse it and it’s ready for paint. The evapo is safe to use and re use again. Safe for the environment also.
