I never did digital art. I admire digital and I'm a big fan of various artists, but my passion always be Traditional. I like to touch the media, feel the pencils, pens, the texture of paper, etc. Great video. Keep the traditional art alive!

Same. I don't feel digital. Too artificial. Traditional is the only way.
It is easier to color and shade digitally but sketching and drawing and inking is easier traditionally for me

Shading is also easier traditionally once you start using diluted ink in a brush pen

Thank you for sharing .It’s funny I know many artists that have gone from traditional to Digital.I think traditional is so much more authentic and more satisfying (plus you can sell it)I completely get what you say about buying colours etc then finding the time to use them I’m guilty of that ! .It’s great that you said you spent 5yrs perfecting your craft it’s shows that you have to put in the hours of practice - Inspirational.

I'm with you on all that. It's personal, and I'm stubborn. Creating art is tough enough, might as well enjoy it as much as possible right. :D
I started in traditional and eventually began doing digital because flashy colors and digital file sharing was what made the workflow easier with others. But I personally never liked it that much. The feel of the pen against the tablet surface and overall I just didn't like what I produced. Now I'm beginning to practice mixed media and YT recommends this, I see it as a sign of being down the positive path again.

I bought a big expensive drawing tablet not long ago. Used it a lot for the first couple weeks. Then I went back to my pens and paper and I'm wondering why I bought the thing.
As a person who also uses both traditional and digital mediums, I say the fun part for me the constant experimentation. I just can't get enough of trying new supplies and software, haha. Each new tool helps me figure out how to improve my current workflow to produce work closer to what I imagined in my head, therefore it's impossible for me to pick just one! What I use just varies on what kind of project I take on.
Not only is watching you inspirational it's also pure satisfaction, it's so satisfying watching you ink a piece love your work
FANTASTIC!
Every time I think of giving up on art I love to watch these videos and it inspires me so much :^)
came out amazing
You are shockingly talented. A real artist!
I love your artwork! I will always love traditional over digital.
Gorgeous work! Subscribed!
I'm an old "by hand" inker... much cruder art than what you do (and engineery in type rather than comic art). Can't make Photoshop work to save my life, which is fine... Although I use a technical illustration software called Canvas GFX that has a pretty marvelous vector tracer that converts a hand inked piece into a pretty clean vector format for electronic publishing. I've also been to Dick Blick's in Seattle. Used to get sign painter supplies there (quill brushes and one-shot enamels). One good thing about by-hand artistry is that you remain productive when the power goes out. Computers break, software fails, but the hand stands steady. Thanks for showing your work here.

Thanks so much! That vector tracer tech sounds very cool! I'm too addicted to drawing by hand to completely go digital. Have a wonderful New Year's!
I agree I like certain time saving tools from digital but I enjoy finishing on a piece of paper so I'm a hybrid
Your art is compelling.
Well done!

Oh the brush strokes.
This is gorgeous work. I love watching an artist just work. It's so satisfying. I've also started to gravitate more to traditional lineart in my process and it's got a catharsis that I find absent when I do things digitally. Really enjoy your work.

Thank you so much! It really is more rewarding for me to do traditional work, although I've been doing a lot of digital art for work lately.
Hi Siya, I absolutely love to watch an artist create traditional art from a sheet of blank paper, it's so satisfying to watch. Digital Art has it's place and is a very fast & useful tool to have but I personally being from the old school prefer pencil to paper and then paint or ink. Your artwork is stunning itself but I was very intrigued by that beautiful brush you was using, I've had this love/hate relationship with traditional chinese brushes, the ones that I have got from Amazon in the past seem to lose their bristles and they never seem to perform their function properly, maybe it was my choice of brush make that was the problem but after watching you use that particular brush I am willing to buy that and try it out for myself, it seems to perform the it's task beautifully. Thankyou for posting yet another great video and maybe you could do a feature length one starting from your drawing right through to the finished piece....that would be a real treat. I shall definitely be subscribing and will look forward to your next creation, lots of love & Best Wishes from the 🇬🇧
LOVE IT

Thank you for sharing your story! I can relate alot, from doing mostly traditional art in high school, to changing to digital for the industry... and now I'm working on my own comic and asking if I should make it traditional again. Thank you for your thoughts! It really gives alot of perspective. Part of the reason also for wanting to switch is that I find my hand hurts often drawing on a tablet, but for some reason on paper it's fine. Love your inking, its very smooth! :>

I can relate to the finger and wrist pain with digital. It may be the pressure sensitivity causing to press harder than we normally would with pencil, etc. I find paper more enjoyable. I may have to color digitally, but at least the line-art can be traditional. Good luck with your project. It'll be so rewarding!

I’m really trying to go back to traditional myself. I unconsciously became a solely digital artist for the last five years and I feel like I’ve gone a bit stagnant. Are you creating work you are proud of digitally? If you are, I think you're on the path you wanted to be on. A lot of times we feel guilty about not pursuing something, even though, it was an experiment to see what we really wanted. I hope you are doing great!

@@SiyaOum Am I creating work that I’m proud of? Of man that is actually a good question to ask myself, because at this moment I don’t know.😅 I feel like I went to digital for convenience opposed to truly enjoying it. I will never move away from traditional art. I’ve just never had any interest in doing digital. I wouldn’t even know where to start.
sometimes traditional takes less time than digital, cuz with digital you have infinite ways to noodle with a piece and sometimes it makes it harder to call it done
