Here’s an overview of my Jeep. His name is “Dippy” I bought the Jeep in November of 2017. It was a rusted box of parts. By February 2018 I was almost finished ....but the Jeep needed a new engine. I had a spare alh tdi in the garage so I decided to diesel swap it! In April of 2018 “Dippy” was on the road! The rest is history! redeyecafem...

mygirlemily thank you! Haha I was wondering if you would recognize that spot! I was trying to think of a good backdrop....
Nice one! Must have taken a lot of time setting up the camera in all those spots to drive by. It's funny, you and Brooks Holt are the only 2 channels I give thumbs up before even watching. Also the only 2 I look forward to

The last Powder blue’49 Jeep I saw like this with a different engine was Carl & Pam Sparks’ mud bogger “Thumper”. From the Merritt Island Florida. Is this what announcer Larry Huffman meant when he referred to it as a flattop?
Nice .great work.
That looks sweet! Nice Ace Venture move at the end. :)

MANOWAR KILLS I’m glad you got my reference! I always knew I liked you! “Bumblebee tuna”
I've also thought that it didn't look like a WWII Jeep. You've made a great job of restoring it and improving it. I'm UK so my 4x4's of choice are Land-Rovers.

Troy Tuckwell they’re aren’t too many nice older Jeeps in my area either. The northern winters have claimed them all. Road salt and moisture destroy them quickly. It’s very sad.

@@StehHiesher yes very sad i haven't seen one here for less than 40k australian. So that puts them out of my reach unfortunately.

Troy Tuckwell Have you looked online at brand new tubs for just a few grand? You can also find the frames and everything you need to build a brand new old Willys jeep for a reasonable price.
Nice jeep there dad scared momma lol kids have fun god bless you take care my friends
Awesome Jeep, if it were mine is hate to get it dirty
Can it keep up with freeway traffic?
Yep, that’s the Jeep I know, you spend more time in the air than you do in the seat on anything but the smoothest trails.
Love the color. I am getting ready to do my tdi swap I'm curious what the angle of the engine in your build and what oil pan did you run I'm worried about engine to axle and hood clearance.

Thanks. My engine leans 8 degrees. I’m using a hybrid oil/aluminum pan. I had the stock pan for awhile and that fit fine too.
Beautyfull Jeep you made, do you have a report somewhere, would like to see how you adapted the TDl to the Jeep bellhousing.

Soweit Sobitter cool! It’s a small world. 😆 Europe has so many cool small diesel options. I bet that will be a great engine for you. Post a link if you have a thread...I will follow along. Thanks for watching!
Amazing build! Which transmission and transfer case did you use?

Was this swap worth the time and money to do it? Because I’m looking into doing a TDI on my 1943 Willy’s.
That's very neat, but did you think of dropping in the Mitsubishi 4DR6 or 4DR5 turbo engine from the Jeeps made under license in Japan? Might have been a lot less work.
@StehHiesher

Thanks! The tdi is such a cheap and readily available option....it was a no brainer for me. The mistubishi engine is cool but expensive and not readily available. Parts are also not easily sourced locally. Not a good option for my situation. Tdi all the way for me!
@LesSharp
3 жыл бұрын
@@StehHiesher I guess it depends where you are. For us, a TDi motor is more than the price of a jeep. The 4DRx engine is in so many Mitsubishi and Fusu trucks and forklifts they are quite common. Not really cheap but at least common. Your blue color is really classic for the CJ3B, really suits it!
@LesSharp
3 жыл бұрын
@@StehHiesher oh wait, are there a ton of TDi motors available because of Dieselgate?
@StehHiesher
3 жыл бұрын
@@LesSharp no most swappers use pre dieselgate engines. There are plentiful because they made like 4 million of them and now the cars are rusting out but the engines are still good.
Beautiful scenery what state are you in? I want to do that swap on my S10 Blazer.

Roy Harper this video was made for a calendar submission for a Jeep group. It’s goal was to display key features of the Jeep. So, that’s why I filmed it that way.
