You have a nice garden. To amp it up you can change the area where the black rocks are with a ground covered in moss.

It's absolutely wonderful. I have a Japanese garden and they are surprisingly easy to maintain. No endless pruning, mowing or dead heading flowers. I would put the biggest mirror I could on the brick wall to reflect back into the garden and maybe render and paint that side a more neutral colour. What an amazing job. It's stunning.

I would love to make a small section of my garden into a Japanese garden. I always loved going to Japanese gardens at any botanical garden. I have been to San Francisco’s, Tokyo, St. Louis, Omaha, several in England. That will be my plan next season. I need to find one of those stone pagodas.
