    Hi! Love your video! Do you know if they have any vegan option for breakfast and dinner??

    Hey, thanks for your comment! From what I can remember, vegan options were not standard on the menu, but I’m pretty there was an option that you could request it ahead of time ☺️ I think it’s important to keep in mind that a lot of dishes use dashi (fish or konbu broth) so if you are looking for a vegan option double check dishes use konbu dashi, especially when eating out! 👍

    はじめましてニコラと申します。イギリツの東海岸の小さい町に住んでいます。Hi. How I wish I'd learnt a language when I was young, instead of waiting till I was 50yrs old!!. I would love to study in Japan. My love affair with Japan started in 2016 when me and my partner went Japan, which we only booked because we couldn't get tickets to a concert to see one of our favourite bands. Saddened by this, we drank maybe a little to much wine and decided to see if we could get tickets abroad as the band were doing a world tour starting the next month. Though tickets were available in a couple of nearby European countries, we pick the 'Summer Sonic festival' in Osaka, as my partner's nickname is 'Sonic'. As usual we did little research on Japan, apart from buying and reading 'Rough Guide to Japan' travel guide (mini version). Wow, what an amazing country. (Even some of the written rules we slowly learnt about during or stay). Fast forward to 2020, during the lockdown that forced us to stay at home, and after my partner said there was no way I could do it, (challenge accepted) I started my Japanese language learning journey. This year I passed level 4 Japanese language proficiency test. I read and write well for my level and understand slowly spoken Japanese. But I fail at speaking Japanese. To rectify this I applied to study in Japan for 6months on an intensive course, but was turned down because of my age. 😭 Confidence burned a bit, Im going to visit Japan for 3weeks March/April, with the hope of finding a course for old people.

    It’s a shame to know that you were turned down due to your age, I didn’t think that would be an issue if you were applying for a private intensive course! Hopefully you will be able to find a course that will accept you! If not, you could always go back to university and do a Japanese course that sends you to Japan (like I’m doing), although that’s an expensive and time consuming option.. Look forward to your stay next year and enjoy as much as you can! Using just a little bit of the language here opens you up to so many more opportunities and experiences ☺️

    Depends on how much you plan to take I suppose! I had a full backpack filled mostly with my electronics (can’t pack batteries etc in suitcase) and I had one full suitcase going there, and on the way back I purchased a second suitcase to fill with the things I bought over the year Had to throw lots away/give them to people though Just pay attention to your airline and their baggage rules, weight etc

    クロエさんこんにちは!簡単にいうと、めちゃくちゃ大変ですよ🤣 I’ve been wanting to make a video about this but it’s been so hectic I haven’t had time to think about it! I’ll go in depth in the video, but yes there are clubs and societies! It is very intense compared to other universities but the teaching is top notch 👌 if there’s anything you want to know, let me know and I’ll address it in the next video!! いつもありがとうございます!🙇‍♂️

    Is it a university dorm or residential place for students to stay?

  • @monkeydlewi

    @monkeydlewi

    Basically a residential building for students! But non-students also live there. I think the university must rent a large portion of the building from the Dormy company

    Oh no I’m sorry to hear that! Are you selecting subjects then? I’m not sure if your situation is the same as mine, however, on the Japanese course you do 10 compulsory Japanese modules which are 1 credit each. They want you to choose a minimum of 14 credits for each semester - which is a minimum of 3 additional classes that you can choose from (some modules are worth 2 credits like the traditional culture classes tea ceremony etc) Does that help at all?

    Might be easier than the other residences to be honest, more people living there, a lot of them KUFS students, some may even be in your class 👍

    how much was your average monthly expenses?

  • @monkeydlewi

    @monkeydlewi

    Bit hard to judge, I didn't track it very well, and I also either ate out or got meals from the convenience stores so I wasn't being that careful with money! if I had to guess I would say on average around 10万円 per month / £600? some months higher/lower depending on travel and buying things xD - also that doesn't factor in rent.

    It’s 18sqm total (measurement probably includes the balcony), the smallest out of the accommodation options for this university. The other options were bigger, around 23-28sqm

    Are the students the ones who choose their dorm?

  • @monkeydlewi

    @monkeydlewi

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes and no, You can choose which dormitory you want on a first come first serve basis, the college residences have a much smaller capacity than the Dormy residence so there might be more competition You don’t get to choose which room you are given in the building though 🥺 for one of the college residences, you can choose between two types of rooms with one having slightly more space for additional cost.
