The situation upfront looks as dire as ever, although Retegui goals the other night were masterclass and give some hope. Otherwise, I feel the rise of Belanova and Cambiaso recently makes overall picture looks brighter

This squad seems like the "design a horse meme" it starts with a phenomenal keeper and a strong and qualitative defense, a midfield on par with the best midfield out there... and just decent forwards, who don't add that much value... or better: wingers can do something good, the striker is the weakest part of the team. And let's be grateful that Retegui is Italian, and in great shape

Joke on Inzaghi for passing on Bellanova! For me it is all about profile. Fabian is great but we got that profile in Fratessi. Locatelli is decent but we can play Veratti and Jorginho as regista. I still call Locatelli and play him in other positions. I’d call Politano instead of Zaniolo for discipline reasons. And Scalvini is definitely a yes. Can play RCB just fine.

I wouldn't compare Chiesa to Rashford disfavourably - they're pretty similar, talented but inconsistent guys who you want at least on the bench to make something happen

Cristante can play several positions and will be invaluable for Spalletti in a tournament crisis situation. El Sha and Zaniolo have to go.

Mancini is a bad choice cause I'm really sure his own goal during Roma VS Leverkusen wasn't his first. He makes way too much horibble mistakes in big games and no matter who is Italia's opponent they could outplay him cause he looks so lost in most situations. Plus I don't know what exactly they do in practice but they should do extra training sessions of penalties and freekicks they lack that.

Regarding the acrebi thing. Its very clear that hes guilty, but the italian F.A dont want to cause issues for the NT. Sad.

@UncleSharma you don't make stuff like that up. Also acerbi apologised for something, why would he if he did nothing? There's no evidence because they want there to be no evidence. It's good for us inter fans, terrible for the soul.

Defense, Midfield and Goalkeeper look decent, attack very bad. Cambiaso should play as a midfielder

433 is what they have to play period.. 343 is a tactical nightmare with 2 midfielders.. Never seen a good team running 343. And 352 wont work because Chiesa doesn't fit it. Need 6 attackers 6 mids and 8 defenders with the 433.. Any other formation and they crash out.. This squad is bad with the talent at hand regardless. Compared to our last euro we downgrade with no verratti in the midfield and defense is much worse.

It’s 23 man squad was only 26 due to Covid

What is the point of keeping raging about that? We can't time-travel back to replay the match, the only thing you can do is to prepare for the future.

Your efforts are respected but Italy won't make it out of the group. They'll be last. Italy is in crisis beyond many people's understanding. Italy won't even qualify for the next world cup.

Don’t sleep on the Italians playing in England. Gnonto is electric, he’s so direct and is a must go for me. Leeds may be in the 2nd division but England championship is played at a crazy pace. As for Emerson, he’s been incredible at West Ham and is definitely in for a shout.
