I’ve been anemic since I was 12. I was later diagnosed with Chronic Anemia. I had several uterine surgeries to help with excessive monthly blood loss and am at the point where a Hematologist was recommended. After my first appt she suggested an Iron Infusion. I am 40 and am very nervous only because of the possible side effects. However, I am ready after seeing your transformation from the beginning of the video to the end. My Infusion is on Monday. Thank you for posting this. It’s helped a lot!

You do look healthy and happy. I give blood frequently, and some people who give blood can't rejuvenate iron fast enough so they need supplements. I believe I am one of those people, and luckily don't need transfusions or infusion. Blood transfusion is a lot more involved. Iron will help me have more energy, I believe. I have been slightly low at my last donation, but was high enough to donation. For a couple of months, I haven't been motivated to do much with low energy and low iron could be the cause.

Very common to feel like hell after, for me it wasn't aches but I was completely heat intolerant, having hot flashes, dizzy etc.- too bad the freaking doctors didn't tell me that! They said oh it'll help right away, no side effects. Huh? IV iron definitely has side effects and even if you don't experience any, you don't feel better instantly because your body needs time to process the iron. How much did they give you? Giving smaller doses further apart really helps curb side effects from what I know. I used to feel worse once they did too much at once (200 mg over an hour) but I now do it over 2 hours cause it makes me feel less sick. The first week after is always the worst for me. We are too young to go through this. Stay strong girl

girl I know how you feel. I have had severe iron deficiency anaemia since I was 15, but didn't know until I was 17 where my ferritin levels went into negatives, and my hemoglobin was very low. Since then I've had iron infusions yearly (I'm 22 now), but more recently it's gotten worse. I found out that my body is actually physically unable to store iron, and as such supplements and/or eating red meat etc won't ever do anything for me because there's no way for my body to absorb it. My Dr recently said it isn't going to get better and the only thing I can do is get infusions once to twice a year for the rest of my life, because it depletes so quickly (my last infusion earlier this year barely lasted 7 months before it dropped again). I know the achy shaky feeling you're talking about that you get afterwards :(

Amelia Jade I have got my first infusion 5 days ago and I am still having lot of body aches. Could you share your side effects and how long it lasted? I cancel my second appointment because I feel very painful in my whole body.

@@payalpatel486 Hello there, from my experience i was ill on the second day after the injection/IV and the third day for me was the worse. I had the sweats and the chills and my migraines were the worst thing id experienced, then i was praying to get better as i had work the next day. By day 4/5 the symptoms subsided alot. Drinks lots of water and hydralite if its available to you. Id go back to the doctor if you dont feel better by a week out.
