I have been to the Apple store several times to have different iPhones with this same problem fixed. They told me I had no problem. This was so frustrating. Thanks for given me a solution.

Just need to say that this was so helpful! It’s been driving me crazy why some calls ring and others don’t. For example, my doctor’s office called this morning and it never rang. So if I want it to ring when they call, I have to add them to contacts? I do have the “silence unknown callers” off.

Pretty helpful but mine does it two or three times in 30 seconds and that’s not what you described. Thanks anyway I am trying the switch again though, it’s been in off position for a week or so now and doesn’t do it there. TY, and by the way, I think that switch should be a battery bypass switch, so plugging phone in would make it usable right now!

Mine was not working if I tried to put it on silent, it wouldn’t work and I had to hold it a little bit to the right side, but I tried the first thing you said. Didn’t work, and I just blues into hard kinda hard and now it works lol.

I have an iPhone XS Max The button is working I cannot turn the ringer on or off by tapping the button and there is resistance. What I’m concerned about is when I silence the phone I could hear the button click but when I reenable the volume of the ringer that’s when I don’t hear the clicking sound of the button. Does that my phone needs to be serviced soon or its nothing to worry about?

My last iPhone I had flip the ringer switch so many times on the ringer switch got inverted/Swapped around so my iPhone switch when I turn the vibrate switch on it would turn off and vice versa but then the software fixed its own self without even doing anything so it was no longer swapped around

Do not disturb is the biggest culprit. I met a lady who was going to buy a new phone because she wasn’t hearing her phone ring. I saw the moon icon in the top and figured her DND was on. This has happened to a couple other people I know. I always schedule my DND to go on at 11:30pm and off at 11:30pm in ten even that gets turned on accidentally. If you don’t use your DND this is great thing to do in the event it gets turned on without you realizing it.

Have you tried using different headphones... it might be the headphones your using if it doesn’t work with other headphone then idk what to tell you I’m not a professional

Yes but if you want to ring the phone to find it's location you will not be able to locate it.

Why does my iphone 11 suddenly turn its self off ?

My phone started doing this... at first its 2x only.. switching to on and off then it stops then... after 30minutes it started doing it again this time more times then it stopped again.. then after a few hours it started doing it again... during those time i tried disconnecting it to wifi and turning off the phone.. there was a time that the button didnt seem to work so i turned my celphone off then turned it on then that seems to fix the button problem but the automatically switching to on and off still persist not all the time but suddenly and for a few seconds on and off continously... ive tried disconnecting it to wifi to know if its somehow connected to that... i havent experienced it while its not connected to wifi tho...

I kept wondering why the switch kept changing it's a backup phone I keep it plugged in. its a physical switch it should not happenthough the switch is fine

How ‘bout simply saying the ringer switch is too sensitive? Just putting the phone in your pocket or into it’s protective case is enough for the switch to be moved from one mode to the other.

My iPhone 8's ringer switch seems to have adequate resistance, and I cleaned it, but it still unpredictably clicks itself off either in my pocket or sitting by itself at night. I have it on vibrate as well as ring, and I suspect the vibrator mechanically flips the switch off sometimes. Annoying, but I can live with it.

I turn my Volume up it doesn’t go up silent mode just doesn’t turn on and off

My problem is that the ringer won’t turn on and off. I flip the switch, and nothing happens.

Happened to me, silent switch got jammed.

Whenever I get in my car to go to work in the morning my iPhone 10 automatically select iTunes and plays a track. I never use iTunes I use Spotify. It’s almost like Apple are forcing it on? How do I stop this annoying issue please?

If you hit the volume increase button when the Iphone has an incoming call it mutes all future calls. Is there any other way to either stop this from happening or resuming normal ring function that doesn't include turning off the phone totally and restarting it?

I did all of that and it’s not working

I bought the iPhone app from AT&T, and corn and never rang and had no speaker on one side and they were to fix it, instead they came out with a service from disconnecting my other two. 6S* phones As I needed all the information on them, but need them all exactly the same which means I lost my information since I couldn’t sign in the broken screen, they didn’t update all my valuable information that I paid $250 to fix and I am angry and very serious You from 9/11 as a first responder with the first victim. Which means I didn’t have the ability to Run there when I needed to And time has passed and this phone is even with the sound is so low it’s absolutely horrific and I am so angry everything I Touch seems to turn to crap, and I’m furious in my condition I don’t need this crap. I was under a year and they gave me a service phone not a new one and I’m furious any advice?
