I got a '95 Impala ss as well. I love my LT1. I just put some racing headers and an after marker air intake, BUT, I'm keeping my LT1. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

@joeymissouri2690 thanks bro and congrats on copping your 96. I would take it to a shop that specializes in suspension or a good mechanic so they can put it on a lift and look over it. It could be several different things causing the rough ride, shocks, tires not balanced, ball joints, ect. But the play in the steering wheel is probably going to be from the steering gearbox or the steering column. A good mechanic can tell you for sure to take the guessing out of it so you dont blow a lot of money. Goodluck on getting your ride fixed, let me know how it goes and thanks for subscribing💯

@Jose Luis Servin appreciate it! added 2" coil spring lifters (twist in knuckles) to the front (2 on each side).. air shocks in the rear... had to cut out 4" of the front inner fender behind the front wheel to get my full turn.. trimmed a little bit of the wheel moldings in the rear.. I didn't want to over cut so I trimmed a little bit at a time until it cleared enough.

What motor u for in there to do that !?? Stock lT1???

Keep the original motor and into it later on then switch it out to different motor and then the motor go out the car is good

Whats up bro, dope ass SS. I have a 96 chevy caprice with the SS package (lowered suspension and K&N cool air intake). I've been having this issue with my wheels tho....I have 22s but when I drive it awhile they start to shake when I go 38-45mph and more wobble when I start braking. Any suggestions bro?

@Bigg Buddha Thanks fam.. And you probably should check your rotors, brake calipers, and front suspension. Just look around, jack it up and shake on some parts to see if anything moves that shouldn't. Wheels could be out of balance too so I would check that

Lt1 is a Good motor, I don't understand why people be trying to shit on the motor, that motor was one of the 1st in its time. You can always beef up the motor.

@guidojones3212 I did remove resonators and catalytic converters. To get the wheels to fit I went with air shocks in the rear, two 2" lifting spring knuckles on each side in the front, then trim an cut until wheels cleared for full turn and scrubbing.

Ok thanks,,I put super 10 muffler on an shop guy tried to talk me out of resonator delete,,i will be taking it to my original guy to,do that,,,I also ordered adjustable rear trailing arms upper an lower to center rear wheel,,I bought 24 but eventually i do 26

@@guidojones3212 no problem.. I thought about doing the adjustable trailing arms because the impala rear wheels sits closer to the front of the car vs the caprice rear wheels being centered. Less you'll have to cut by changing out the arms

That stock LT1 has more torque than a stack LS1. I swapped a 5.7 LT1 for a LS1 and I've regretted it since day 1nothing but issues

@@lifeofgotti8942 put a stage 2 or truck cam in it, headers and possibly a turbo and you’ll get the power you want. I believe the turbo kit from Summit Racing is about $2k, so even with install you’ll be a little cheaper than LS swap. The LS swap has more small details involved other than just the motor. New AC lines, accessorie brackets, computer and all that crap really adds up. You’ll end up spending $7k + to do the LS swap right

@TooTall Jones quick and simple setup.. air shocks in the rear, twist in coil spring lifter(2 on each side) had to cut out the lower part of the inner fender behind the front tires to get a full turn. Trim rear molding as needed in the rear. I'm not a fan of cutting on the body to make rims fit so I was careful not to over cut. Can't even tell I cut anything.

96 is probably the most desirable because of the floor shifter. That doesn't mean the 95 a fake one.

@Michael Howard from my knowledge the impala ss was made 94-96. The last year (96) came with the cool floor shifter. Mine is a 95 SS, didn't have a caprice badge anywhere on it. At age 16 I didn't care where the shifter was located, I just wanted a SS lol Now I would like to have a black 96(w/floor shifter) for my collection.

Yea it's a 95 fam

Old LTs have the reputation they have for a reason, the LQ9s or 4s and LM7s have the rep they have for a reason. You wanna go fast reliably, for less, go with one of them. Hell, an LR4 is superior to the old LT. But honestly if you aint racing, i wouldnt bother.

@@lifeofgotti8942 does it stop fine with those small calipers on it? You ever had to slam the brakes while ridin? It can be dangerous putting big rims on the whip n not going bigger brakes. That impala clean tho, I always loved those cars. I had a 86 caprice brougham,90,kit only 56000 miles basically gave it to my lil brother he needed a slider n the lil mf sold it I was hot lol
