True Story: Hank, I used your Crash Course videos to self study for a bunch of AP exams in high school, and in this way I was the first person in my family to afford to attend college. I went to college in Boston (cold city) and went on a date with a girl from Orlando (hot city). It was immediately apparent that she had not packed for cold weather, so my first present to her was a subscription to the Awesome Socks Club so that she would at least have some reasonable socks to wear. Flash forward a bit. I'm in the hospital and one of the things that has become incredibly difficult for me is putting my shoes on. My girlfriend brought me those same Awesome Socks so that the fun patterns would make putting on shoes just a little more enjoyable. Flash forward to today. I've been with her for five years. I run my own non-profit that brings equitable education abroad, and there is at least one pair of Awesome Socks in my suitcase every time I fly. And literally today, I just had my first meeting with an angel investor to hopefully scale operations and reach more kids. Thank you and thanks for socks.

For decades, all my father in law asked for for gifts was plain black socks. Then the Awesome Socks Club was born, and I said “nah man, we can do better than that.” So we gifted him a subscription way back at the beginning and now ALL of his socks are awesome. And he proudly shows them off to the grandkids whenever we come to visit 🥰

If you ever feel like doing sock advertisements over and over again isn't working just know that I've known about the Awesome Socks Club since y'all started and have always distantly thought, "Yeah I'll do that one day but :/ my sock drawer is pretty full so not right now." and then I started watching this video while cleaning out my dresser and realized how many hole-y socks I have. @@midnightcdc It's funny that over the years I've bought the same socks from the same store multiple times so even if one sock from a pair gets too holey there's plenty of identical socks to re-pair the good ones with, constantly shuffling them like the Sock Drawer of Theseus. BUT if I ever manage to go through them all, I'll get in on the sock subscription train.

I love that you've always been changing hank, ever since i first learned of you in highschool when my science teacher had our class watch crash course videos. Youre one of my favorite science communicators and general Internet personalities.

Hank I discovered you when I was in 6th grade, and to me you were "John's brother" guy. Now I am starting a new career as an EMT, and life is crazy. You've become "one of those guys who helped me get through the early stages of life so I can get to this moment" guy.

Because of you and your videos, i was inspired, now after my own cancer situation, to re-educate myself on hpwto get excited about things, even let myself get a bit overwhelmed about all the different things out there I could and want to be. For some of us, broken by the pandemic, broke and totally alone in the world, with zero "get well cards" when we have cancer, and nothing but toxic abusive families gloating over our demise, the "what s the point" post treatment phase can be quite extensive, so it was interesting to hear in another of your videos in which you admitted that ...that is a thing!🎉 cheers!

At first, I wasn't going to buy the socks because I have a very specific style and even more specific super sensitive disabled feet. But then I saw the model who's like me. It warmed my heart more than any sock could. I think I'm going to subscribe to those socks. You're great at this sock guy thing, Hank.

It's you and John who taught me that diversifying your identity is the best way to be a happy and fulfilled person, but I definitely understand feeling like you're being pulled in too many directions. Just be yourself! We appreciate your multifacetedness! I don't think you need to worry about being stuck in a pigeonhole by being sock guy or science guy. Part of your "brand" is doing and talking about all the cool things. I think we appreciate it bc you speak about all these things with so much sincere enthusiasm and bc it reminds us of ourselves -- we are all super multifaceted; just most people aren't able to show off so many areas that they are interested in publicly or with their careers as effectively as you. You reflect something nuanced and valuable in all of us. I hope someday I can have a career that ties a bunch of my different interests together too!

I have to say, being sock guy is one of the the best guys you can be. I check back on your progress videos about the hospital in Sierra Leone every now and then, and I want you to know that by being sock guy, you’re really also being “working directly to provide a vital healthcare center to a whole country” guy. You and your socks have had a huge impact, and I’m glad. Thank you for using your platform to help so many people. Also- do you think you’d ever introduce some grippy socks to your awesome sock club? I recently have been wearing socks inside (long story, basically need to be nonslip at all times), and they’re all bright colors, but they’re all solid colors. I would love some funky nonslip socks, especially if they’d go to help built a hospital

Awesome socks help me get through gloomy Canadian winters. They also brighten other people's days. My proctologist, during a preliminary exam actually asked me where she could get fun socks for her dad. It was one of the greatest fashion compliments I've ever gotten.
