@@johncarlodimaano7235 well they stated that peu would be replaced for brachiosaurus and it most likely be an ai bc I doubt many ppl will like to play a big sauropod that will take ages to grow and will consume insane amounts of food with it also being incredibly slow which a lot of ppl don't like.

@@graciliraptor3990 would be a little annoying to deal with a animal thats pretty much invincible though (unless its like a pack of 6 gigas nothings touching a arg)

A couple other ideas I had were to make it more of a supportive element for big herds. Maybe the ability to stun quicker animals so slower herbivores could land the finishing blow. Or maybe it can provide some sort of dietary buff. Like maybe it's dung acts like really good fertilizer and make plants spawn faster/ yield more nutrition. Another way would be to make it live on the beach. The real animal was an island dweller, so it's not a bad inference to say it swam well. Or maybe they can drink sea water or can eat seaweed. Not that many animals live on the coast so it would have at least some protection. The problem a lot of people seem to have with magy is it's stats being too realistic making it useless or being too absurd where it becomes a different animal. Maybe what magy needs is a couple of non stat related buffs to improve it's utility rather than it's matchups.

i think some people mentioned magy and some other dinos to be supportive to others's gameplay but they shut that idea down pretty quickly

I guess the whole problem with magy, is that irl it only got dwarfed when it was isolated from all potential predators in an island, so it is unbalanced in its essence 😂 but I hope they come up with an innovative way to fix it, otherwise I think its hella cool to play a mini sauropod

should be a good distance runner and take reduced damage in the tail

Honestly, I don't think it needs the weight buff. Give magy Tail whip: for smaller things Body Slam (does a little bleed from the armour, let it maybe stun) Neck attack -> stomp (can knock over creatures as big as a carno) Armour: attacks to its back deal .8x damage instead of 1.0x damage. Make it approximately teno speed, but give it much more stamina. Basically, have it similar to teno, able to fight carno (even though both of them can be knocked over) and win, but can outstam Allo and Alberto. I don't personally think it's too hard to balance magy, if you treat it similar to teno.

When I think of magy in the isle I think of an okapi, laying in thick jungles and only coming out to drink,eat fruit or migrate

I like the idea of making it heavier than it looks, making it slightly less than allo makes enough sense to me, being a sauropod it should be a bit more defensive

Magy's posture looks really sturdy as compared to other (theropod) dinos so bigger dinos will have hard time toppling it down and damaging its poise. A Defensive Stance ability with stun and bleed resistance and ability to topple bigger dinos of their feet will be good

1:43 Megalania is MUCH bigger than that based on the concept arts, it's even bigger than Magy.

Great video, Orni 👍 I don't think a weight buff is necessary, like Lvl 5 Dino said. You could give it stuns, reduced damage multiplier on body. Damage on its attacks can always be altered, so that doesn't matter. This would even it out in a fight against carno and let it defend well against smaller creatures. Also letting it be decently paced 38km/h~. with great stamina. It would probably have one bad matchup (vs allo) potentially, which can be changed around if you make specific creatures not live in similar biomes. Also onto the allo and cerato thing. Allo is significantly larger than cerato (over 2x), so if it was to be grabbed, there is no way it wouldn't man handle it. I see it more as it knocking it over, rather than it holding it up. Also, trample will be a universal feature - so magy will have it (like all creatures will)

About the allo being like over 2× larger. I don't think that's quite right. Yes it is bigger but like c'mon cera is like 7-8m (8m only the really large ones but still) and allo 8-9m. Everything bigger for allo would mean you are going of of the sizes for saurophaganax, which could be just a big allosaurus, but as of now it is still a separate animal. When it gets to weight you'd still have to think about ceratosaurus stocky build. But in all fairness I do think an allo could knock over a ceratosaurus like that if it got up to a certain speed.

I do wonder how the match up between magy and quetz will be sense magy used to have to worry about Hatzegopteryx. And presumably they likely didn’t have that even of a match up either sense most depictions just show hatze just devouring and running down magys.

I feel like magy should be 1650-1700kg. It looks like its a bit heavier than teno and a bit lighter than carno but could still knock things carno-sized animals and maybe a bit heavier

If they’re going for realistic sizes then not even close to that Magy IRL could barely reach a ton (750 - 1,100kg) But, look how big they made teno despite the irl size.

1.7 for magy is the sweet spot personally, i like the idea of it having decreased damage and bleed on it's body.

I desperately want Diplodocus in the game. I want to see herds of massive Diplodocus migrating across the map like in walking with dinosaurs

such a cool looking dino, hope it’s viable💀

Oh and I think that concept of Allo taking down the Cerato would be a pin attack on lower weight dino's that comes from a second attack only through a fully charged ambush. So an example is say a Gali cant just run off after one bite or claw slash. So id say that's ok but it should only be available for Sub adult/ adult Allo's again with a FULLY CHARGED AMBUSH, on the plus side of losing stamina quick like a Utah pin it does (small) bleed as allo claws amir.

Honestly I’m my opinion it shouldn’t have that much stamina if it is that big and it should rely on it’s fighting strength and hiding to survive

id understand 1.5 ton's but I cant fathom 1.7 -1.9 ton's but the defensive bleed or damage makes sense considering the reality of how prehistoric armour works. and a shove attack makes sense as well.

Devs should replace many with shunosaurus because it's also a small sauropod and and can actually be viable with it's club tail. Either shuno or amarga but PoT already has amarga so I'm more in favor of shuno.

I’ve heard people say that Magy is gonna have some kind of poison, if this is the case then I think you should only be able to get it by eating a particular plant. This way it will be more difficult to acquire, so it will give predators a chance to be able to attack/eat it without getting the effect.

@@Orni-Mega-Lonyx How about making Magy a sort of sauropod skunk, spraying a diet derived noxious dung/musk at opponents it can't outrun or physically fend off. The spray could temporarily mess with vision or smell and maybe cause some creatures to vomit. That way unless you can ambush Magy quickly from the front or unless your a predator that is meant to hunt Magy, you have a reason to be cautious and think twice about jumping it.

Cheetahs weighing 100 pounds can run up to 70 mph, wolves(who are about the same weight) can run half that fast and humans( who are a bit bigger) can run half of that. All of this is to say anatomy plays an important role in determining how fast an animal can run.

This is MY OPINION here folks, but just MY view on things with Magy. Whether or not its "realistic" or "Mechanic Quality of life" ect. 1. Weight being transferred to 1.7 from 1.1 seems a LIL over kill. Maybe like 1.2-1.4 AT MOST for an animal of its size and considering its a sauropod. Its still a DWARF sauropod, hell even in real life we have actual Smaller of the Smoll Sauropods who have actually been Dwarfisized due to their environment by like... almost 33%-66% just like mammoths have back in the Ice Age. But this is obviously not that and YES its a game, but this is still a legit small sauropod which is even smaller than an allo would be so of course it probs would be lighter even if by like 300 kg. This also goes with the ability to stand on its hind legs, yes it is a small lil thing but its still able to stand on its back legs to make it seem bigger even though most stuff WILL tower over it. Still a sauropod. 2. Armor is kind of a no brainer, especially for this thing. As said in the video its depicted to have some form of armor on its hind back and mid-section. Plus considering that ingame already it does lower dmg anyways it doesn't have to worry about that, Plus again.... Why do that against a Sauropod lol 3. Stamina, Having more stam than an Allo or really any medium predator seems.... Off. For a multitude of reasons even for ingame mech stuff for such an animal. Like sure since it is (Once again) a small sauropod, its still like this heavily built animal for its size and to outstam "bigger" predators of much bipedal lean running just doesn't seem right. Being able to run fast when it needs to? Yes I can see that, outstaming a predator in the open field even from a football lengths away of being watched? No I don't see that depending on its distance of course, Just doesn't make sense. Out running, but not outstamming. Its like an Elephant running away from 12 lions, can it run faster than the lions? Of course, but not for 15 minutes consistently and yes btw, Allo's are the Lions of the Jurassic and Cera's would be the Hyena's. 4. 6:05 I personally don't see a problem with this lol Its not like Cera was a big therapod dinosaur in the same environment as its bigger competitor. As mentioned before, Lions and Hyenas. 5. Having Tenno speed I don't see anything to change with that, just of course not as much stam. 6. Now I can see this thing just being... Absolutely fucked over by Utah's/Omniraptor (goodlord) unlike stego's cuz... Stego's. Dilo's I can see being quite a bitch to fight OF COURSE in the night, dilo's are much bigger than we previously thought back then (lol Jurassic park) I also agree its biggest weakness should be bleed which ALSO relates back to Dilo, UTAH(Omni), Cera AND Allosaurus. All are really good bleeders, carno's you sorta can think that too but its sorta that blunt inbetween but more reliant on force persay. Now if it runs into Alberto, just r.i.p man. R.I.P theres just almost no way unless of course you have good enough distance to run because the stam would be almost the same but gg if u try to good faceVface. It'd have a chance certainly but it'd be soo low against Albert and actually even against a single full allo on circumstance as a whole. Anything else it can just run but absolutely cannot fight cuz obviously you're basically a cow for killer whales on land so gg to you good sir. But thats just my thoughts on the video, long yes. But MY thoughts on the subject.

@@Lonely_dove I think they did that bc as a sauropod you're naturally not fast and being so small you can die from pretty much anything bigger than you so to make sure that magy doesn't die all the time from big preds they gave it poisoned flesh so u don't have a reason to attack it which again idk if this is the smartest move to do if they want magy in the game so badly but ye idk.

Magy is trash, it lived on a midget island IRL and got dunked on by an azhdarchid, then it went extinct once a land bridge opened up to its safespace island. Its running reel is slower than allosaurus, it needs to be upsized to even stand a chance against carnotaurus, they should have just replaced it with a better sauropod. There are so many amazing not-colossal and unique sauropods they could have picked from, and yet they went with the first google result for “smallest sauropod”, which is probably how they made their decision. I will kill every magy i see if I am still alive when it is released
