Mental illness is not an excuse for action but it is an explanation. I think people often times gloss over an explanation as an excuse, using it as a way to try not to hold yourself accountable is using it as an excuse of course. I just find too many people call a valid explanation an excuse, the actions that come after explaining are what determines the difference imo

@@jamie.nelson98 I’m not sure I know how to do it, but if you type in exactly what I wrote it pops right up with all the updates. It involves SO much more than the pool incident. It’s wild.

100% selfish to stay together for the kids! People act like they either have to pretend to love each other and grow to resent each other or break up and hate each other. If you can live with someone you're not in love with "for the kids" you can separate and be happy and be friends for the kids! I have parents that stayed "for me" then for my kids etc and its not fair to have to go through that! Its not healthy and the kids KNOW and you should absolutely never stay "for the kids" unless u can 100% fake the love and happiness. I think if they were honest with themselves, theyd know they dont stay for the kids, they stay for comfortability and normalcy
