He was at one time the chairman of kalki, Mangaiyar malar and Gokulam. I can imagine the excitement of one of Kalki's greatest ever stories is made into a movie for millions of people all over the world to enjoy. My dear father's name became synonymous with the magazine that people fondly called him Kalki Vaidyanathan. I wish he was alive to enjoy this moment. Very Very happy to see this review from Senior Ponniyin selvan story reader and fan(Chennai girl in London). Akka they way explain your experience is awesome. Best of luck akka. Actually I am started reading this book in 2022 Jan finished in Feb 2022. At that time PS team revealed the Cast of the film. So, I fixed the cast as the Character. For example Karthi as VD. Beautiful narration. You have have expressed my mind about the PS-1 and I am sure it is the same feeling for millions I guess. What a movie. Maniratnam has done a brilliant and competitive job with ease. It is an Himalayan task to make thus 5 volume story movie. But PS is an absolute treat. I only will say, story line was intact. No where it is deviated or changed.... Music is class apart, first time I liked A R Rehman music. So nice.

I was extremely nervous to watch it, but turned out to be a beautiful experience

Very well said. I can understand your feelings as a hardcore reader. Unlike you I never read the book (did my homework though to get to know the family tree, story line etc) in spite was terribly nervous for the first few minutes fearing to put up with the unrealistic story telling, bad sendhamil pronunciation and terrible CGI like many other movies. But to my surprise it was quite the opposite.The movie was outstanding with the acceptable CGI and had excellent flow of story telling. The cast, cinematography, costumes, jewellery etc were exquisite. Mani Rathnam has maintained his high calibre through out and proved he could live up to the Hollywood standard. I would really like to applaud and thank Mani and the whole team to present us with such a wonderful exquisite period Tamil drama and hope it continues for ever. Weird! never went so far to appreciate a movie like this !

If u haven’t read the novel over and over again, u will not have the fear of losing those memories 😍 it’s an excellent movie. There were quite a few flaws in the costume and jewellery, designer should have done more research on what was worn in that era. But we can overlook that for the love of maniratnam, aishwarya and vikram 😍
