Facts..took me about 3 listens to figure out its a bop. At first it sounds messy because there are multiple different beat changes in the song but the pre-chorus is really good and I especially like Karina and Giselle's first rap verses. The chorus of "gimme gimme now" is also pretty catchy. Repetitive but catchy. I still have some gripes about the song like the bridge and the ending but I think people will change their mind about this one after performances.

But I really don't have a problem with the parts before the bridge I was so hooked at first listen I swear, I got hooked more because of the rap after the first chorus like it makes you want to dance with the beat. I just got confused because of the random bridge😂😂and until now i still cringe to "my naevis we love you" lol. And finally the last part, the electronic thingy in the break dance got me hooked again and then the multiple highnote comes which I think is messy for me, I mean I totally appreciate winter and ning²'s vocals but i think the multiple highnotes is unecessary.

@@alizya6295 i agree, don't get me wrong, the girls are amazing dancers but the æs need more development. They look okay when they're not moving to fast but when they dance along with the girls they move like a wooden stick glued together. Amazing concept but could've use more work.

For me, Savage is “easier” to listen to than Next Level. I mean, I also loved Next Level the first time I listened to it, but idk, I feel like Savage is more easy to process. The pre-chorus is my favourite. WinNing+Karina’s voices there are so good, the choreo is so pretty, and the background vocals...wow! It reminded me of the bg vocals for Black Mamba’s bridge. Was that Giselle doing that again? Also, the naevis we love you part-I admit, I cringe for it a bit, but I think it blended well during the performance version.

SM is doing this with NCT and aespa, putting together very different sounding parts into a single song, turning discord to harmony. In fact it's become an arrangement that we can expect. This was excellently broken down by Zsunder on the "SM sound". Gotta say this time I'm still not getting into the chorus yet. Everything but the chorus has been bomb af for me 😭💕

Savage is pretty good, but it's kind of messy like the flow is disturbing. The pre chorus is what I kept on loop, I mean winter and ningning vocals aaah~ the chorus is also sexy but the rest is meh, the part "nævis I love you" it's it's a bit weird. The high notes are cool but the ending is pretty confusing. Don't get me on the lyrics 😫 Overall the album is wonderful and lucid dream and yeppi yeppi are my current favs ✨

the album is INSANE. these girls can SING. their voices harmonize so well together. many kpop albums have 1 or 2 good bsides. this album had multiple amazing songs. you can tell that if they used some of these bsides as the title, it would get praised by all kpop stans. but they stick to their concept and stick to their sound. i really love everything about this group.

I am honestly having a hard time liking this cb. I love Black mamba right away, which was a surprised 'cause I think I didn't like a debut song from SM's gg since Into the new world, and Next level, I didn't love it as much but it was so catchy that I fell in love at second listen. However, I don't know why but I just seem not to be able to click with Savage, and even though I love some parts, others just throw me off completly

this is the first aespa comeback I fell in love with I think it’s an experimental kpop sounding song which made a lotta sense w the video and the concept of aespa

Aespa's song is not messy it's experimental and futuristic. Every aespa song has this unique sound that only aespa pulls off that's why i like their songs. Plus their melodic bridges focuses on their vocalist, so even if the song is rap driven each one of them shines.

I'm a casual listener, not a Stan/fan, but I've listened to all their title tracks since debut, and honestly for my opinion I don't like Savage. It's messy, much more confusing than Next Level ever was to me (and yes I dont like Next Level either). At least with Next Level I enjoyed the part Ningning took over with her vocals and there was a switch in how it sounded compared to the Next Level song itself, I literally didn't like any of their songs tbh, I'm still listening tho because the members have nothing to do with a song sounding nice to me or not, their vocals are amazing, and I might come to enjoy one of their songs in the future. But yeah I didn't enjoy it much, to everyone who did I'm glad, have fun with it. The girls nonetheless were amazing.

At first listen, Savage really got me coz it is THAT good! I was soooo hooked right away compared to NL (which took me few listens to love it and now it’s a hit even the point choreo is so iconic) Karina’s “I’m a killah” really got me and what excites me most was Giselle’s rap and then we have Ning and Winter doing high note battle (reminds me of Chen and Baekhyun) soooo SAVAGE IS A FUCKING CHEF’S KISS! ps: Savage is breaking the charts in SK though. They broke the record in Next Level. Consistent #2’s and last night it peaked #1 in melOn but now it’s in rank #2 which is STILL good!

I think I'm now immune from SM style sound that's why I always like it after first listen lol

Overall the song is a bop! But, I agree that that the bridge didn’t exactly fit and it got a little muddled at the end. My biggest thing is that for the concept they are going to go with visually, SM needs to put the same money behind each music video. Or find a way to go do it with practical effects and real sets. Like the ae’s were very much giving sims 4

If I were to rank the songs on the album, for me it would go Lucid Dream, ICONIC, Yeppi Yeppi (it initially wasn't a fave but it grew on me), I'll Make You Cry, and then Savage and Aenergy tie for last place. I just cannot get behind the naevis and kwangya concept, so including it in the lyrics is a major turn off for me. But all the songs that don't include any mention of kwangya are amazing. Lucid Dream is probably one of the best songs released this year. The lyrics like "ningning e.d. hacker" and "naevis we love you" and "oh my god, don't you know i'm a... savage" are so cringey, but the lines like "I feel like I'm missing something, I feel like I'm lost in consciousness and dreams, So sweet in this thick fog, A dream of walking constantly, Don't have any clue on the direction" from Lucid Dream or "My wild is hidden behind my kind eyes, yeah, I'm wild, I try to provoke you now, I skip the unfolding of a beginning and I expose my teeth" from ICONIC are stunning. I understand that their kwangya concept is working for them and SM is unlikely to drop it anytime soon, but I really worry that aespa's title tracks will have very limited longevity because of it. Lucid Dream or I'll Make You Cry have timeless lyrics, but Savage and Aenergy don't.

Out of all aespa song next level and savage are the songs I listen to the most, black mamba is still good but savage and next level both have a different vibe, also my fav part in savage is Giselles first rap

I think that SM trying to do the same as with Next Level but I don't know if it will work again

Savage: 7/10 I think that the songs was like awesome ningning and winter really got to show their vocals and karina and giselle got to show their rapping and awesome dancing skill but i think some of the parts shouldnt have the sound effect added like when karina breaks the glass it sounds like a car accident and like through out the song their are unnecasarry sounds and during the bridge it wouldve been 10x better if they didnt say "My naevis we love u" i know its all cute and everyone is gonna hate on my opinion but this is MY opinion but other then these things the song is flawless. Aenergy:9.5/10 I really like the song a lot, sounds awesome and awesome vocals, althought, i heard it might be considered as their intro and its very short and also i think instead of energy the aenergy is really smart and overall thing song is great, the -0.5 is just the shortness of the song but i respect it so im fine with it but it sounds really good. I'll make you cry: 10/10 I LOVE THIS SONG like this song made aespa turn into aespa like these vocals are INSANEEEEE and the first verse is just so good and i like have nothing bad to say its just phenomenal i love it. Yeppi Yeppi: 6.5/10 I feel like it isnt a song i would really listen to and it just doesnt have my vibe of music, chorus is a very catchy and very good vocals. Pretty good song but i just think if it was my type wouldve been better but that isnt even their problem and if i had this taste of music it wouldve been really good. Iconic:9/10 I would just listen to this song over and over its so catchy and the chorus is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO catchy and i like how they spell out iconic, one thing i would say isnt the best is the fact that i personally think that winter shouldve gotten more lines in the bridge and throughout the song which brought it down to a 9.5 and i dont really want any of the songs to be the same ranking so i just saved it at 9/10. Great song though! Lucid Dream:10/10 Aespa the angels literally this song gave me sooooooo many red velvet vibes and red velvet are like my favorite group and this song made me in loveeee, so smooth and the chorus is so catchy, this song and ill make you cry are like a tie of my favorite songs on the album but overall all the songs are awesome especially for a mini album this is literally chefs kiss and i look foward to listening to more of their music in the future.

That was the first Aespa MV i saw. Then I saw Next Level. This thing is a whole universe, huh? I don’t really follow😩 there was a LOT going on that idk if I’m impressed or overwhelmed lol. that “zuzuzuzu” part still rings in my head tho lol.

Yeah aespas concept since debut is that they have their own lore/universe involving their ae (the avatars u see appearing and mentioned in their songs). That’s why their songs mention kwangya, POS, nævis etc

Like next level grows on you, but it's hard to say the same for savage, some parts were really outstanding whereas some were underwhelming. Maybe this year is a year of experiment for sm, first with sticker and now with Savage, because they have to strongly establish the Smcu this year. One concern for aespa is they may turn into characters just in smcu and nothing more. Currently aespa music sounds like an Ost for SMCU.

Hahaha oh my, you're sooo right. From Black Mamba to Next Level to Savage, all were like an OST for Aespa's part in the SMCU. Honestly, I just don't buy that Kwangya shit at all 😂😂 There are shining and meh moments in Savage but that "naevis we love you" part is so ridiculous, it makes me cringe sooo hard lol but I guess fans like that stuff so to each of its own.🤷

I really commend them for their music and experiment, as long as I am not focused on the lyrics, as soon as I read the lyrics I am like wtf is this s**t. Right now with SMCU I appreciate the work they are putting into to build the universe, but my question is what is the theme/core of your story line. Like the MCU has infinity stones, the DCEU has the motherboard. They have not created enough source material, and apart from the core fandom nobody gets it.

My opinion: (Also, before you read this, I hope you don't get offended by it. I don't stan Aespa but I listen to them sometimes. And if I get any details wrong pls tell me- Ty ^^) In all honesty, when I first listened to this I wasn't a big fan of it. And imo, I found the start of the song quite confusing for me. But when the chorus hit it was quite catchy, I gotta say. Up until now I can't stop myself from playing the "Zu zu zu" part in my head- But honestly I still find this song a little confusing. It was still good but for me, it had some improvements. The concept overall wasn't my taste but fit them. For me, Black Mamba still holds a place in my heart because it's my favorite song from them. But for now, I hate to say it but "Savage" and "Next Level" wasn't my cup of tea. But I hope I didn't offend you, this song still might grow on me! their songs are still pretty good! Again, I hope I didn't offend anyone! I have no intention of offending you or anyone else

What the bridge in both savage in next level are the best part

I like certain parts of the song but some parts are a bit weird to listen to. The MV was cool though and I loved the animated part. It reminded me of Winx Club or Sailor Moon. One thing that I don’t like is the talk rapping that Aespa and Red Velvet do in some of their songs. I wish they would either fully rap or just sing if they can’t rap that well or with a good flow. I think SM wants Aespa to sound futuristic and experimental and if that’s their goal, I think they are definitely accomplishing that. To me, Aespa is like a more updated, futuristic, and robotic version of f(x) which isn’t a bad thing I guess.

Same with Next Level, it's not digestible at first listen because it's so overwhelming but then who knows. I guess I will give this a chance to grow

It’s not aespa’s songs but even NCT, RV, etc 😉 it’s SM’s style being experimental. And from what I observed, just like f(x) is the female counterpart of SHINee, aespa is the female counterpart of NCT !

Ngl I loved Next Level as soon I listened to it however Savage ehh I think it’ll grow on me definitely Karina vocals are amazing it definitely cool song very definitely I love Aespa songs tho so different

personally i think the choreography is also important, and aespa did it, thats why i like savage, but i can hear pretty savage instrumental but i think it's just the same vibes of music as expected from aespa ,it's a little bit weird for me at first bcs their music like a mix up of a few songs, but after a while im used to it

To be honest I hated the song,am not a edm fan,more if its a bad song,its not like I enjoyed next level a lot but savage is really not at all in my fav list. I feel like kpoppers like which song top Korean chart and will hype whatever hit top melon😒. Personally I feel like this year is the worst year in kpop,verry few songs did it for me. The choreo was really not that hard!! The camera make it look good but over all not appealing . The mv? I know some kpoppers who can make better work, for me itzy mv is still way better and expensive. aespa are popular because they r from sm,because kpoppers likes to follow the popular group,as long as they top k chart,have 100m views and have more sales than others then they will claim their fav discography as phenomenon. For gg I waited for lisa/itzy and aespa, all of them did desapointed me, it focused too much on visual and mv but the music was really bad.😒

@zow oh I have nothing to say about their skill, the vocal were really the best, not a fan of idols rap honestly,I prefere next level rap more , of course aespa are gorgeous,but I have to say I don't feel anything watching them, it's like they r the avatar and the avatar are the humans,it feels empty! And u right,I really did think I will like a song from aespa but ig am just not a fan🤷‍♀️ am skipping them from my list of probability. Am just not a fan of sm music.

They say you should listen to without the mv because it's overwhelming I think it's true but I loved this song on the first listen even with watching the mv I didn't really pay attention to the mv but I loved the song but honestly it slapped and definitely song of the year

What do u mean u will not remember any lyrics from yeppi yeppi even if ull listen to it many times? Like am I the only one who's lss of the chorus?

One thing that made me confuse was the last part(Its the chorus maybe).. the part"Gimme gimme now" with Extremely highnotes at the back.I really appreciate and praise Ningning and winter but When (Nigning) did the highnote (The "YEAH^" after dance break) and changed keys.. i felt like something was off .. SORRY for people might who read this and hate me but Im really not a hater/I Love aespa since BLACK MAMBA, Im Just QUESTIONING(?)/CONFUSED..😅.😊

their concept&style is really next level… like different from other girl groups or even the whole kpop industry.

Like last time... At first i Hated Next level but Since i play my songs in random I Slowly started to like it.. Maybe BEFORE im the kind of person who prefer songs with a lot of melody changes..... I'll listen to AESPA-SAVAGE many more times so i could jam and feel the music even more..

Lookin at most reviews im in the minority but Personally not a fan of the song but i just overall dont like some of sm weird beats. Kind of a nct 127sticker situation for me tbh. Its a shame too cause the album is a 10/10 Yeppi is one of the best songs iv heard this year.

They are one of the only few group in kpop that is still taking any risk with their concept

I thought next level was a terrible song but savage made next level look like a masterpiece. Everyone is saying how it will be a bop after a few listens just like next level. But i think this time ppl will actually not like it anymore even after a few listens because savage is way worse than next level. Next level is tolerable, but savage just aint it. No matter how many listens, savage just aint it.

I've never had any problem with their concept/storyline focused lyrics before. But the bridge part of 'savage' was a big NO for me especially the 'naevis we luv u' part....it just felt a bit off ?....But overall i really liked the song.

idk i personally didn't like the 'anti drop¿¿'-i don't know if that's how it's said- of the chorus, i think i would've preferred an actual drop but idk, also the "don't you know i'm a savage" and "naevis, we lovd you" felt cringey, also the highnotes in the end i'm not sure if i love them or i dislike them? but anyways. It's still in the back of my mind even if it's not their best song for me.

This is not about aespa.One genuine question do you guys listen to a song until it grows on you?? I am kinda new to kpop it's really news to me how I see people saying "it grows on me". personally if I don't like a song then I don't listen to it 2nd time. So if you don't like a song at 1st listen why do you keep listening to it. I am started to think,in kpop the group or the company matters the most not the song. Was this like this from the beginning or happening recently??

I think you should hear a song often if you don't like, then only it will grow on you.. otherwise u'l miss out some gems in kpop songs.. Most of the kpoppers do this when they didn't like the song at first and henve we say it grew on us

With due respect, i think kpopers are the one who are Missing a lot of things cz I think these listening so many times before liking a song only happen with big companies. What's your experience?? You do these with all groups or the groups from specific company?? I hope my question didn't offend you, I am genuinely curious.
