To help with your confusion, James - the primary difference between Sephora and Ulta is that Ulta carries both high-end and affordable brands while Sephora is primarily high-end. Sephora also carries more exclusive brands (Rare Beauty, Glow Recipe, Milk, etc). Fenty used to be a part of that, but Ulta recently started carrying that brand as well. Hope that helps!

I actually use the Cetaphil clay mask! It has way more ingredients aside kaolin clay and does not dry down all cracked/stripping on the face. So I don’t particularly agree with the claim that all clay-masks are drying. Sure, good ones are rare but I definitely recommend it :)

I also found that hilarious. TBH, kaolin clay isn't terrible, but bentonite and whatever-the-other-one-is (forgot the name) irritate the crap out of my skin. I think both the Cetaphil and Inkey List's masks are kaolin-based. I'm not convinced kaolin actually does anything at all, though!😆 In my experience, if a clay mask works I can expect to break out two days after I use it. If it doesn't break me out, it doesn't work.🤷🏻‍♀️ C'est la vie, right?

I think Ulta started out as a more affordable Sephora. I think Sephora’s poor perks and then even eliminating the free services you get as a rouge member are what caused Ulta to grow into what it is. I’ve worked for both and I can say that even as an employer, Ulta has Sephora beat by a long shot. ETA: Sephora in my opinion has a complex similar to other luxury brands. They don’t feel like they HAVE to make it more appealing. They expect people to just go there because it is Sephora. Brands will learn soon that isn’t going to fly anymore.

Ulta > sephora by far! Even the environment is more welcoming. I hate shopping at sephora because it feels like you’re being watched like a hawk bc they assume everyone is there to steal. All the excessive cameras and security and the constant glances from employees that btw also act a bit stuck up Also ulta carries more affordable brands as well, and carries a lot of hair products as well. They’re more well rounded than sephora.

I love love love the Strivectin serum! My only gripe is the price--it's crazy expensive. I was almost hoping you'd say it wasn't worth the price and something cheaper would do the same things, so I could justify not buying it anymore🤣🤣

YES GLOW RECIPE!!! It has the only moisturizer I can use on my combo skim that doesn't feel heavy/sticky/suffocating or make me break out or gey rlly oily. It is perfect, it feels light and almost soft and it just melts into my skin. Its dazzling!! Their toner and masks are amazing as well as the blueberry bounce cleanser, super gentle but effective and smells sooooo nice. I adore it!! Deffo one of my favorite brands and completely worth the price

I didn’t experience any degradation or change in smell with Queen Screen sunscreen, and I’m onto my second bottle. That said I actually find the smell too ‘perfume-y’ and strong in general and not very modern compared to the product itself which is great under makeup! Which is why I keep going back to it.

Strivectin is amazing! I got it as a gift and was shocked at how good my skin looked. I was so sad when I ran out cause it's so expensive. If anyone decides to splurge on a skin care product, buy this. I have a really oily t-zone and uneven texture on my cheeks. This helped correct it within about 3 days of use. I miss it so much haha.

I just used the ordinary glycolic acid toner and I noticed how amazing my skin looked afterwards. The Ulta rewards system is the best. It is very easy to earn cash back and a lot of it. They also have Beauty seals where you get things like that StriVectin serum for half off.I also like them because they have more like in between brands that aren't so expensive or high-end but they also have premium brands as well.

Elf’s cleansing balm is amazing. I have tried a lot of them and it is a 10/10. A bit pricy for how little you get but it works better and feels better than all of the others. It is not greasy at all and is so hydrating somehow. It gets rid of any little flakes I have if my retinoid dries me out.

Glow recipe made my skin break out SO badly I felt like I was going through puberty again. I completely agree with 99% of all this but mu holy grail is the Estée lader serum. I’m 45 now I’ve been using it for about 10 years and I feel it really makes a difference. It also makes an excellent addition to add to your foundation if you wanna to sheer it out. I have very oily skin and I’ve never had an issue with it but certain skin care is it for everyone. Love your channel

I actually love my Queen Screen. Like you I hate overpowering scents like rose on my skincare so I was also initially put off. However, unlike yours, mine didn’t go putrid it actually smelt less over time (or I just got used to it) - and what I love about queen screen in particular is the fact it has gold micro glitter in it which give an instant illuminating/dewy finish which is absolutely brilliant for no makeup/low makeup days. It gives the same vibe as Rodial’s soft focus glow drops but actually has skin benefits and I am here for it. I’ve tried Ultra Violette’s fragrance free “gel” which I thought would be like supergoop unseen, but it is a pigmented cream and the delivery is through a hole in the cap (twist to open/twist to close) - I do have a few more UV products to try (got the mini kit to work out which I liked - but then also ended up getting the full size of queen screen anyway 😂) - compared to other “serum” delivery spf I have tried (coola sun silk drops) Ultra Violette’s Queen Screen has been my fave so far.

Loved this vid, would definitely love more like this. I had the same problem with Queen Screen fragrance. I tried their mineral one and it was so thick it just was such an effort to rub in, I'm also very fair and the "tint" or whatever it is in this looked insanely bad on my skin. I'm now using the Supreme Screen and it's fine, but not worth the price. I have a la roche posay one that I prefer. Here in Australia it's annoying because they are crazy strict with what is allowed. Almost all of the Paula's Choice sunscreens or with sunscreen within (bar one spf 30) are only rated spf 15 by Australian standards, but are apparently spf 40 or 50 in USA or the UK with no change to the formula. Really annoying tbh.

It is so expensive 🥹 but I totally felt my skin just looks so much more plump, hydrated, and glowy since using it! It made me feel validated when you liked it too! 😂 ❤️ Small note: Costco sells a pack of 2 for $100 and ulta has had occasional sales on it in case anyone in the US is interested. I bought The Ordinary's Glycolic Acid Toner a few months ago when they offered a 20% discount, so I got it for essentially less than $8 CAD, thinking, I'll buy it to have, but likely won't use. Well, I gave it a few tries and then reveled in the even skin-tone and texture it gave me. I absolutely wasn't expecting to see much of anything, but it transformed my skin. I only stopped using it as frequently because I started using Retinol and Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Toner, which is very nourishing. But if there's one product I truly miss using it's the Glycolic Toner, because it really did work, and it's a MASSIVE bang for your buck. I used it 3-4x a week for a few months and hardly made a dent.

First off thank you for agreeing with me on the Laneige. I have never liked but felt I was the only one out there. The other thing is the Estee Lauder night recovery serum. I started using as a spot treatment at night under my normal serum on the top of my cheeks. I was starting to get that orange peel look and feel and now it gone. For reference I am 65. I agree with what you said about the Laneige lip mask. It feels nourishing when I put it on, but my lips feel dry when I wake up. For the elf cleansing balm, I think people love it because it's a great price point and it works. It even works better than some of the really expensive cleansing balms, in my opinion.

James, you never steer me wrong! I have been using The Ordinary Glycolic Acid and I absolutely love it. It has done wonders for my skin. I have really bad rosecea and fortunately I haven't had any reactions to it. Will definitely try it for under my arms! I bought the Laneige Sleeping Mask - the pink and the blue one (I think it's a different formula) and I hate them both! They dry my lips out and and the blue mask causes my lips to tingle. I'll stick to my aquaphor.
