You did it successfully as you perceived initially. I would suggest the project convertible. Simply remove the handle for manual rotation and design a bolt in the same spiral shaft where the other end is compatible with your drill chuck. Surely you need a thin end for the drill chuck and for good strength, you may work on an SS bolt.

just an advice. don't ever use grinder without disc guard. never hold object in hand while using power tool. ppl here follows you so you must educate them using power tools safely. if you would have made the round piece square and have used socket to hold it, it would have been easier. none less than a good project. good luck for your future endeavors. waiting for your haleem grinder's practical video. I have blown my drill this season trying to grind haleem with it. :)
