These are not meant to be setting powders (especially for oily skin). They’re meant to be finishing powders, meaning they give different finishes to the skin after setting, such as smoothing, giving a glow and warming up the face. They’re meant to mimic different light. This is how the company trained me in these products. I’m by no means saying how you use them is wrong!! Just saying what Hourglass taught me over the years and how to use their products

Thank you, Elle! This is going into my saved videos so that at the end of the week, when I do most of my online shopping I can come back to it and just click the link and FINALLY purchase the correct powder and feel confident about it. The tip with the damp beauty blender was something I had never thought of when it comes to using powder to set my makeup in areas with those damn "fine lines". I'll give it a try. Love your tips and tricks.

Love my Hourglass finishing powder in luminous light, it gives me a stunning champagne glow and their blush is still my favourite powder blush even though I have become a big fan of cream blushes. I would still consider repurchasing one of their blushes. Gives my cheeks a real glow that’s incomparable to other beauty products on the market. Thanks for more application tips 🙏

I have a makeup drawer with several HG products in it gathering dust because they didn’t “work” for me, but thanks to you I now know the problem wasn’t the product. It was my incorrect application. I watched this video and others you did on HG and oh, my! I have been using these powders & their foundation stick all wrong! I am 61 and can’t believe that I can finally have a “glowy” look without highlighting every crack, crevice, and pore on my face. Thank you for all your excellent tutorials. I am definitely benefiting from proper prep and make-up application as taught by YOU! Thanks again. ❤️

I love Hourglass powders! I have a collection of loose, finishing, bronzer, blush and the Edit palettes. When I use the all-over finishing powder, I have to be careful not to use too much because it can show the pores/texture in my skin. But when used properly they give me the glow my mature skin needs. Your tips were so helpful! ~Susanne xoxo

Elle ~ thank you SO MUCH for this video! I turned 50 last week & I think this will take my dry, ‘mature’ skin to a whole other level. I’m one of those lucky ladies that struggles with setting powders. I can’t tell you how awful I look with setting powder. It’s not good. Awful, actually. Good thing is I don’t need traditional setting powder. I’ve really struggled the past several years, trying to figure out how to get a nice, natural, non-shimmer, non-glimmer, lit from within look. I’ve wanted to try these powders, but with my crazy, mature skin, I had NO idea about how to use them effectively... until now!! Thank you!!

A tiny amount of ethereal light on inner corners of eyes is a favorite little trick...smoothing and brightening without being shimmery, perfect with more natural makeup looks.

Thank you Elle!!! My Sephora doesn't carry them but I am leaning towards getting the Dim Light.

I’ve never tried using a damp beauty blender I’m excited to experiment now:) I use a combination of Etherial and Dim, been meaning to order diffused as I think it would look nice over/under bronzer ...kinda like a finishing powder for my bronzer ...lol

Thank you for this!! I am older and post menopause and the one thing that i need to find is a powder that doesn't dry my face out or settle into lines especially around my eyesI! I am also looking for a really good foundation that has light reflecting technology that gives skin a supple dewy glow! 💖

Such a great video, different things to try with these now! I love these powders. I’m very fair with cool undertones so use Mood and Ethereal, almost like contour/highlight. You really do only need one light layer. I have dry skin so it can’t take heavy make up. They help me skip so many steps and cheat a good skin day in seconds 💗 worth every penny!
