Sudden compression or decompression due to instant atmospheric change would hurt... a lot and do significant soft tissue damage, but you wouldn't explode. Our tissues aren't that fragile that we would literally rupture like a balloon. Of course on the smaller scale, a lot of our surface vessels would rupture and cause internal bleeding and bruising, our eyes would probably be heavily damaged, and not to mention what the change might do to our lungs. What she should have did was compress/solidify the air around him. No atmosphere can hurt and do a lot of damage. ALL the atmosphere possible would have F'd him up 6 ways to sunday and probably immobilized him depending on how compressive the ability could go or what it would do to his lungs and inner ear canal.

Some apparently have trouble understanding New Order. New Order affects the parameters of something. She cant turn led into gold. Whatever her order is it has to fall within the parameters of whatever shes using it on. Its why her own order only doubles her current strength. She got that body through hard work. The super human aspect is her New Order. Humans can absorb heat meaning its theoretically possible for us to hold a laser. If only for a split second. Making the air vanish falls within the parameters of a vacuum suddenly forming. She cant just rewrite reality. She mods it.

Say you have a Regen factor that heals in a split second. Minority will take that healing factor and shut it off completely. Bc in that moment, Damage is now the minority and healing is the Majority.

I think the problem with her character was that it was introduced too late and had very little screentime during the whole series. It left us wanting to see more about her fighting style and the number 1 hero from another country. Shigaraki was very lucky of facing an identity crisis back then because if he didnt, Star and Stripes would have killed him or AFO very fast.

Yeah, this fight was the death knell of the manga's writing. She was fighting to kill, but didn't choose a lethal attack in the end. Like turning his blood into caustic acid to cause instant brain death or dissolve the dna in his body to stop regen. The second she was brought into the story, you knew she was going die to show how dangerous Shigiraki is, but for her death to be so pointless and weak just killed any hope for the story.

Because she didn't try to kill him with the first blow. Which is a sure way to lose the fight and die. There would be no reason to not use a lethal attack first. They brought laser cannons and nukes to the fight. So the terrible writing ruined the scene. If you're trying to set up and impossible fight against Shigaraki, just have her use a lethal attack and have him regenerate.

@@xzkilerymax8395 Because the name requirement is based on the victim's self perception of their own name. Shigaraki was still in control and recognized that name as belonging to him. Otherwise, any time she used it on a villain using their "hero name" would result in failure. She would know this limitation and not rely on the name. And the fact she immediately used the her quirk meant that she had already met the requirements and could use lethal attacks. But instead she used an immobilizing attack that he could easily heal from anyway. She could have just turned his skin cancerous and seen how his regeneration quirks handled it. Or compelled his blood to force its way through his brain. There are many ways she could have attempted to kill him instead of the stupid heart attack. Or better yet, control the explosion from a nuke to incinerate him completely without major fallout.

It's not really plot armor. It isn't a matter of catagorizing something correctly. It's based on perception A conciouss being has a perception of itself. If that perception and her perception do not align the power does not work. Air, Rocks and anything else has no perception of itself. Its not plot armor necessarily, its more that shigraki got lucky with what she said.

Her character was terrible because it was never built up at all and just served as a way to show us that Shigaraki was a big threat even though we had just seen the guy level cities by himself. It was pointless, stupid and unrealistic, the dude could be taken out by a bullet and is a world ending level threat so they send a single person after who knows how many other heroes failed??? Come on. Bad writing is still bad

In reality, with her special power, she is the strongest character currently, but knowing how they want to make their MC the most powerful. They killed her off within 20 chapters, got her power stolen, and used it in some form away to motivate the main hero to get motivated and grow.

Deku isn't even the most powerful and can't win alone. They will have to pull the mother of all deus ex machinas to let Deku win. Literally just let him win at the end because Shigaraki is invincible

I wish that this character was alive longer in the series. They introduced her and then killed her off like the next episode of her introduction.

New Order: when your cells are exposed to oxygen they self destruct. Shigaraki just explodes instantly as all his cells self destruct and he is reduced to atoms

Can we PLEASE acknowledge that while she was grabbing him she couldve said "space" then entirely erase the space shigaraki was occupying and ended the whole fight, and dont say she couldn't cus space isnt living and theres nothing that says she cant erase space esp since she literally erased air so shes the reason the war is still ongoing

when i first heard the description of her quirk i literally said "that's op. that like... shouldn't even exist" and the show was like "damn, u kinda right"

Still woudnt have worked given why the "his heart will stop" order didnt work either would stl apply, when she applies it to living creature its perception of self must align with the name she called them, shigaraki in this moment is fusing with AFO with a bit of tenko shimura mixed in, as such he no longer indentifies with the name she perceives him to be, hence wjy it didnt work, a diffrent rule/command woudnt change this
