Heidi, I am so sorry this is happening. This is so traumatic. I know how much you are into hair care. My daughter is a junior hair stylist, and I often think and worry about accidents like this. Anyway, we are here for you.

Heidi, I had this happen to me. The stylist sent me home without telling me my hair was broken off in the back. It has been a journey, I used K18, Olaplex and coconut oil, stopped using hot tools and baby my hair for a year. It was tough but we will be on this journey with you. I know you will teach us how to get through this with the style and grace. Your videos are always a learning experience.

I had similar and I ended up cutting it all off into a pixie cut, growing it out and also using Olaplex, various hair oils like Kerastase and Argan oil, and immersed bought K18 when it was released. It took ages. My hair is still so short, like a boyish bob, but I used to have nice long shiny black hair. My graduation photo on my wall has me with that long shiny hair and I look at and thing, it will probably take a years to grow it back to that.

Hello again…just another thought…having been a salon owner I definitely would have offered you free conditioning treatments for a full year if someone in my salon had done that damage to your hair !! You have every right to ask for this !! They are lucky you aren’t suing them ! There’s no reason you should have to spend your money on treatments for the damage they caused !! Also closely monitor what type of conditioning treatment they are using and how they are performing the service and definitely speak up if you don’t like or feel comfortable with something !! Please keep us informed of your progress !!

Dear Heidi, I am extremely sorry that this has happened to you. This video gave me bad anxiety and I can only imagine how this situation must make you feel. As a guy with long hair who is also really really attached to his hair as it is sort of a part of me and my personality I can totally relate that this feels much worse than people who say stuff like "it will grow back, its just hair" will ever be able to realize. You and Abbey Young gave me so many tips and I've changed my hair care routine because of your advices and it made my hair twice as full again and I was able to get some babylights. Thank you so much for this. My heart goes out to you and I hope that your hair will be fine again soon. Lots of love and greetings from Germany.

Danke ❤ I love that you shared your male perspective to confirm what I suspected: we’re all emotionally attached to our hair, for some reason. It’s true what they say that it grows back but on my length it may take many many years. 😬Like you said, not a 100% comforting statement. But I am confident that things will get better and better every day.

However my hairdresser didn't say anything was wrong and went ahead and blow dried and flat ironed my damaged hair! When I got home I saw little pieces just falling off like confetti. You have such beautiful skin and face you could be bald and still be so beautiful! I had my hair burned off about 4 years ago. I stopped going blond. It grew, then I decided this year to go blond again. Tons of breakage again. I love being blond, but is it worth the loss of length and fullness? I use k18, and it helps but still have daily breakage. Sorry your going thru this too. My hair is multi colors too.

Oh sweet Heidi! As I’m watching your video, I feel your pain. I went through a similar situation over 20 years ago with a perm. I decided not to go to my regular hairdresser because she was on vacation and I wanted some beachy waves. She decided to leave my hair wet and as I was driving home, I could see me turning into an Afro. Literally my heart went in my mouth as yours probably did too. I get home and I call her and she said she doesn’t know what happened. She use the gentlest formula but that’s not what my hair was saying. I cried and cried didn’t know what to do. They said to wash your hair when you have a perm and it will come out but it didn’t. Even using a flat iron wasn’t doing the trick. It was actually making it worse. We’re here for you! Lately I’ve been using the hair density in my scalp from the Ordinary and it seems to help with a lot of hair growth. Also, you might wanna try mix in a little bit of castor oil with the coconut oil. Castor oil really helps with strengthening the hair and regrowth. Sending you big big hugs!🤗🤗🤗

I just had to stopped hair coloring or using any harsh chemical. I just did tons of masks and allowed the hair and scalp heal itself. Perhaps, this will be a great opportunity to see the growth of your natural hair color! Your blonde is awesome, but I see that your natural dirty blond hair is gorgeous!

Hey Heidi, I am so sorry. Had the same issue in April, not that much breakage but definitely noticeably in the crown of my hair. I used k18 (6 times in a row and now I am to my maintenance stage). It helped me so much!!!! I was so unhappy and I ordered k18 cause it was my last chance to rescue my hair. Same issue with the color. I am lucky that I have cut my hair to a longer bob before my bleaching accident cause I think that helped too. What is good as well is the gisou hairmask. Made my hair soft and hydrated. Since i have a bob I try to cut it in august again and maybe some soft highlights but nothing more.

Hey I'm so sorry you had this experience. I think your doing everything right, the only other suggestion I can offer is to actually use a sleep bonnet (lilysilk offers some good ones) because it's going to protect any damaged areas even a little more. 😢 Heidi, I was just wondering yesterday why you had not published a new video and today 😮😢… thank you for sharing your journey , it takes courage and authenticity especially for someone as passionate as you about haircare to embrace the experience even if it hurts and to share it. As I was watching the first minutes , I thought “please tell me that you tried k18 and that it helped” . I tend to alternate between bond builder and I use also living proof but have no idea whether it helps or not . Anyway, the results you got are amazing especially considering that it is a heatless style !!

Dear Heidi, So sorry to hear that you are going through this. I know how it feels as I also had a similar situation. I’m Indian and I have super dark hair (level 4) and god knows what I was thinking when I decided to go blonde!!! (Level 9) the bleach left my hair burnt! Your content has helped me restore my hair to its natural glory over the years. In my experience, K18 is much superior than Olaplex. Even Aveda Botanical Repair mask is awesome. It will help you too. In fact I like it much better than the Kerastase Resistance mask.

Hi Heidi, it is a great video, you've explained very well my feelings after my hair was burned out 9 weeks ago, I made a balayage in a salon where they didn't know what do they do, the result was a disaster and my very long hair was destroyed, then my self-stream was damaged. looking for solutions I discovered Olaplex and K18, I think K18 is superior because was the only that worked to make the ends softer and flexible, I also use the K18 oil. Another products that helped to avoid the gum sensation were Alfaparf blue and cells of argan oil together with the restructuring liquid, that was magic. But I insist, K18 is the solution for burned and broken bleach hair.

Actually another stylist I know had her hair fried recently by another stylist as well!!!!! She had to cut her hair super short . I'm done trusting anyone with my hair especially color. I went to another hairdresser for advice she said just buy another hair colour put it over the colour it had gone from dark brown to various shades of orange which I was most concerned about at the time. I think with the shock of it it was a few days before I realised my scalp was burned too. I should have gone to a dermatologist. I still have a bald patch at the front and my parting is very wide. @Heidi I just waited it out! What else can we do. First months were so difficult as my short stubby hair was just sticking up and I looked ridiculous! I just sucked it up. Once it grows a little, you can stick them down with some hair spray. And now after a year the short hair are 12 cm or so long so they blend in well enough… it’s not fun… FYI i am a regular olaplex user and my hairdresser also used olaplex and did the treatment as always. But there is only so much olaplex can do.. there is no real way to reverse that kind of damage tbh.

I have heavily highlighted fragile long hair. It dries your hair without heat plates and without using a brush on already fragile wet hair. It leaves hair dry and straight in just minutes. I let my hair air dry for about 1 hour and then use it. I think that it works best when hair is not soaking wet. ❤❤❤❤❤

I'm so sorry this happened. I know you can do this though. I wanted to note that I don't think 'some' heat is bad. In fact, you don't want your hair to sit wet or blowdry on cold for a super long time. Better to blowdry with a bit of heat to dry the hair, then leave it to dry the rest of the way. I think there is a study that has shown this to be effective as well. My thoughts are with you. Thanks for sharing - I did this to myself years ago. I now know the exact time to leave bleach on my hair to get what I want without major damage.

Thank you, thank you for this video. I went trough this about a week ago and I have a very long hair like you. It wasn't that much fried but it was extremely dry. I didn't want to wash it with shampoo so soon as I usually do it every 6 to 8 days, so I applied 2 hair masks one after another for probably 30 mins each. Then I applied ampules for damage hair and then leave-in conditioner. It felt much softer, the ends were still breaking, but much, much less. After 2 days I applied Olaplex 3 for about 40 mins, then mask for another 15, then again ampules for damage hair and then leave-in conditioner. All products I use are for professional use. So far my hair looks much more hydrated and I think maybe I saved it. The hairdresser did it very patchy also but I think for now I will have to leave it as it is to save my hair. And this is a hairdresser I use for a decay now. She didn't even apology - she was very fast to finish me and I was kind of wondering what is going on. I saw it when I went home as I couldn't believe after all those years and monthly visits (as I need my regrowth dyed) she can do such a thing. I understand it can go wrong but I deserve at least and apology. Thank you again for this video, I definitely will watch it a few times to try to save my hair also and not to need to cut it shorter.

Thanks Elizabeth 🙏🏻 I am very sad that it happened to you too! How long did it take you until it grew to a more decent length and blended with the rest?
