I added the shortcuts to my most used programs to caps lock + 1, 2, 3. I even added multimedia controls and volume controls with caps lock + A,S,D,Q and W I took the idea from the chromebooks keyboard, which replace the caps lock key with something else

very useful. I'm surprised you're not using qttabbar (the one from wikidot, not the older sourceforge version). like Clover, it adds tabbed browsing to windows explorer, except qttabbar is much more mature with way more customization option than clover. it allows you to set hot keys for a ton of different browsing and file management actions in explorer which I'm sure you could put to use in scripts (like scrolling through file browsing tabs, going to certain favorite folder locations, etc). mainly though, having tabbed browsing with middle click on folders to open in a new tab just like chrome is a god send. all I can say is imagine 10 years ago when you would browse the internet and have to deal with 15 browser windows open because tabs weren't a thing. that's what you're doing now with file browsing and it's a huge PITA :)

what I do in interceptor is have a keystroke, say "numpad5 down" trigger F24 down, numpad5 down, numpad5 up, F24 up. Then in autohotkey, I have the code: #if (getKeyState("F24", "P")) F24::return ;here is where you put all the keypresses. numpad5::msgbox, lol #if you COULD program everything straight from interceptor... but i am not good enough to do that. if you figure it out, document your findings and publish it somewhere, and send me a link!

Just in case you or anyone else wants some hints on autohotkey: To access your script even easier you can use caps as an additional modifier. In autohotkey you can type: SetCapsLockState, AlwaysOff ^ This will disable caps from ever turning on (phew, what a relief) After this you can just go to ahk and use: CapsLock & q:: do something return Your left hand is probably already on top of that area of the keyboard anyway, so pressing that is incredibly quick. You can also swap 'q' to any other key.

However, I have dozens of keys especially alphabet keys mapped to macros. I tried assigning escape to a function called Suspend, but it's a forgettable thing to first press F2 and then escape and then the system goes haywire(cause I'm typing with all hotkeys firing off). How can I make it so that when I press F2, the hotkeys temporarily get disabled and then I can type text normally and then after finishing typing the hotkeys again get re enabled?

Hm. I watched a lot of these videos from you now. And i thought about this: What about having a key, e.g. Ctrl and each time you press and release it, the keyboard goes into a different mode and each mode has different makros/routines attached to the buttons. Which basically means, you could cycle through infinite different keyboards on a single keyboard. Ctrl Ctrl Ctrl would access the third additional keyboard layout and press A would do something. Or an alternative: you could press Ctrl+Q for the first keyboard mode, Ctrl+W for the second, Ctrl+E for the third, ect. This way, you could technically have thousands of makros by just using the left hand on the left side of the keyboard alone.

Those are called "layers." People keep bringing them up, It's a bad solution for me. They sacrifice time, to save space. Not a good trade-off. You'll have to spend time to see what layer you're in, and spend more time switching to the correct layer. Layers are dumb.

My laziness brought me here and looking at the complexity of the task (I am no programmer), I am now in conflict on whether I should make an effort to learn this now and be lazy later. Or if I should be lazy now and keep making an effort every time I want to switch between programs...

taran, when i am running the script. it'll says can't find that app. i tell him it is in the program files under my C drive. but on the video you just typed in Premiere.exe, how did that work?

Kinda late but it really depends whether premiere is registered as a direct exe or something like that because I always thought that it would work if it was in program files. Whatever the case is, you can check it by using the windows run dialog, windows + r

Thanks for sharing! However, I optimized the script to be more generic. After each reload of Autohotkey, you can then switch between active windows #t:: ;switch windows WinGetClass, Title, A GroupAdd, taranpdfs, ahk_class %Title% GroupActivate, taranpdfs, r WinActivate ahk_class %Title%

Reason you were quoted $2000 is because it's a commercial license. Otherwise, for personal use, the source code is there for you to recompile. I've done it, got the 2 dlls (x86 and x64) but don't have enough keyboards to try them. Since I don't have 10 devices, I'm not sure if the dll is embedded in the installer or simply replace the dlls in the library folder is enough.

ok strange question, I have a smart plug socket and i want to control it using a hot key. i found a relatively easy way of doing it but its slow and not reliable, first i use IfTTT (If receive webhooks GET web request THEN turn switch on) now this is related because i use AHK to send that GET request but for some reason it triggers twice sometimes and sometimes not at all. if anyone wants to help that would be cool. or even point me in the right direction. i can make a quick video explaining this if someone thinks they can help. anyway taren you are the AHK king is there a simple way of sending HTTP GET requests using AHK or another program that allows me to use hotkeys to send GET requests?

But Taran you could have made the macro keys just execute AHK files instead of mapping numpad and linking shortcut to numpad..? Anyway love your work and you have some, impressive work:)

It looks like Corsair CUE 2.0 CAN indeed launch programs directly. So yes, I could do that. But then I'd have to have a huge folder with one script for every single function WITH parameters. This is what I did for the stream Deck, since I had run out of normal keys. It's more of a PITA to deal with, AND you can end up with scripts massively interfering with one another, as they all try to run at the same time, and don't wait in line like they should. It's often better to just trigger the functions with keyboard shortcuts. ;) (ones that use the CTRL modifier so they never type anything in.)

You are right and we've got the same PC peripheral's EXACTLY just mine is 5960X :) Downloaded your right mouse move playhead in premiere and it's awesome! IJust bought 3x Panasonic GH5 to do my cooking videos and I'm pretty happy with them! Just bought 2x corsair K65 RGB LUX with 3x G700s which I store in closet for a later date when they stop manufacturing those :D like I don't want to have that K95 scenario..ever :D. Amazing how far you as a group went , fully amazing up travel here on Yt!! There is a AHK script that you can move windows from anywhere in the window frame I am using for quite some time and its wayyyy more easier to use than the slim bar on top it's called Easy Window Dragging , look it up :) I set mine as ctrl+alt + right mouse and !` to suspend. Cheers man! Hi to LTT !:) autohotkey.com/docs/scripts/EasyWindowDrag_(KDE).htm
