It's the people who do it strictly because they enjoy the idea of eating human flesh and killing others to get their fix that wind up in Hell. Of course, that's assuming that the cannibals in the Cannibal Colony/Cannibal Town are actually Sinners and not Hellborn natives of the Pride Ring as some people theorize. After all, many of the cannibals share similar features, which isn't something we really see with Sinners, at least not to the same extent as with Cannibal Town.

I noticed that Alastor only goes to Charlie when she's emotionally vulnerable: In the pilot, he shows up after she was ridiculed and embarrassed on television, in episode 5, when she confronts her father, and in episode 7, when she's completely isolated.

Charlie being upset about Vaggie not telling her about her past reminds me of a quote. " You never spoke of this creature." " Does that surprise you? That an old man would be ashamed of the mistakes he's made?" " No."

The Angel's weakness being their own weapons was hinted at when we saw Vaggie's backstory. Because she got her eye ripped out by an angelic sword showing that angels can be harmed.

I do love that the eyes are frequently called the windows to the soul, and every single demon and sinner we've seen has some detail paid to their eyes. And all the cannibals, to a one, have nothing but a black fathomless void for eyes. Neat detail.

One thing about the deal, while it was very vague, that can work both ways: Part of the deal is that Charlie can't hurt anyone, but that is also vague, meaning that if by Charlie accepting the deal mens she might hurt someone physically or emotionally in any shape or form then she might not be forced to. Fun fact: by sheer coincidence i learn what "ace" meant mere days before the episode XD

Yeah how does he make a deal NOT involving trading her soul seem more sinister? If there’s one thing I learned in reading fairy lore, Celtic tales, and all kinds of Faustian bargains, it’s that the devils in the details. I mean the favor could literally be having her stand aside while he does the murdering. Heck, there’s literally a Batman episode about this with holding a door open!

I don't think Alastor actually knows what the favor is yet. He's just filling up his bank account, as it were. And keep in mind, there's only so much freedom of operation he has. If he does anything to really hurt Charlie, he risks Lucifer coming down on him, and he _absolutely_ cannot handle that. I also have a funny feeling that the story has to end with Alastor either being the last villain, or actually being redeemed. OFC I could be wrong.

But no, I don’t think it’s a good idea to redeem someone who *doesn’t* want to, or even the too-obvious to be it idea of final villain. He’ll likely be a strong provider.

I know its headcanon territory but I like to think if a child sinner shows up, they get sent to Cannibal Town just so they can be safe. A bunch of old timey folks with that almost Leave it to Beaver vibe? Seems like a pretty dope place for a kid. Compared to the rest of hell. Especially if the cannibals will gladly eat any threat that wants to try and harm a child.

That "harm no one" stipulation honestly is EXTREMELY powerful...for Charlie. Its obvious that Alastor is going to use it to force her to find a way to break his leash, but given what he's known for, Charlie doing that could be argued to be harming people. If the writing team thinks things through well the end result of the deal could become Charlie's greatest moment.

My thought was the favor is giving him the throne when it's time.

When I think about how all the cannibals that get to hell have that same appearance I realize how much it resembles the actual folklore wendigo, the thin human with pal skin, sharp teeth, and sunken in eyes.

That training sequence gave me Mulan flashbacks. *Auntie Rosie is so wholesome, awww. Most precious cannibal ever.

Ws for both Rosie & Carmilla (who I already loved after ep3, but even more so now)! In ref to 26:25, I was thinking more like Mary Poppins :)

My guess is Alastor is going to use Charlie to get out of whatever chains bind him that Husk mentioned.

I wonder how Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss relate to each other chonologically. Because in Helluva we saw the three Cherubs being banished from heaven. If it had already happened, then "if Angels can fall from heaven, then surely sinner can rise from hell" would be a natural argument, but no one made it. Y'know, it's funny, the rewatch with Rich is casting a lot of earlier scenes and minor details in very different light. In particular, Husker's assessment in episode 4 that Vaggie hates herself. T_T EDIT: I *cannot believe* I didn't catch this before, but Our Good Noodle is the only one of the residents not talking shit about Charlie to Vaggie (or exploiting Charlie's vulnerability, *_Alastor_* ). He's a good noodle!

I love this and the final episode it was fantastic watching back to back

It’s funny how the CANNIBAL of all people is a moral expert in love. Love can be beneficial and it can help! But if not handled right, it can eat away at you both to where the hole can linger and bleed out. If you can chew out the bad in time, perhaps you can save it.

My guess is that Alastor will use the favor to become Charlie's right hand when she ascends to Hell's throne. This would make him second only to the Royal Family therefore outranking any sinner, demon noble and even Deadly Sin. In this episode, he has already voiced his desire to form her, making her an investment for him. I don't think he's stupid enough to aim for Hell's throne itself seeing as so far, no demon seems to give a sh*t about who sits there anyways (also, his ascension would likely cause the hellborn nobles and Deadly Sins to revolt, that is if Lucifer wouldn't just erase him for it to begin with, and I'm sure Alastor knows that). Therefore, I think it's more likely he wants to be the man behind the throne, whispering into Charlie's ear pulling everyone's strings, sinners, hellborn and Deadly Sins alike, as the puppeteer in the shadows.

Basically.

While Alastor’s deal certainly doesn’t bode well, it could have been a lot worse. It is binding, hence the lightshow and what we know of deals from Helluva Boss, but compared to what it could have been, Charlie got off lightly. The most common theory is that his contract is with Lilith, and his favour from Charlie is to convince her to return his soul to him (power intact). Which, granted isn’t a good thing for anyone, but it’s better than him owning her soul and then forcing her to do it anyway. Alastor is the most unabashedly evil member of the main cast and he keeps me very interested.

The details of the deal leave a brutal option. “Not hurt anyone” does not mean not hurt yourself. I foresee Alistair forcing Charlie to hurt herself in front of Lucifer to get a deal from Lucifer himself.

Carmilla with her hair down makes me wish I had $50 thousand dollars.

Charlie shouldn't have needed to make a deal with Alastor to find out angels can be harmed. The moment she found out Vaggie is an angel should have been all the evidence she needed. Because Vaggie's eye was gouged out by an angelic weapon, she's living proof that angels are in fact destructible. And speaking of Vaggie, her not knowing angels can be harmed is a massive plot hole. Sure, some people say that she just didn't know that demons could use angelic weapons to kill angels. But honestly, that's a really big stretch, and is not supported by any shown evidence. Demons have been shown to be able to use angelic weapons to do things that would normally be attributed to angels themselves. Like when Striker was going to use an angelic weapon to kill Stolas, a royal demon. It's like putting a gun into a monkey's hand, the gun can still kill. It doesn't matter who's holding it. If Vaggie had stayed a sinner, like she originally was, her not knowing angels are vulnerable to their own weapons would have made sense, as she'd be in just as much the dark as everyone else in hell. Also, why would Vaggie having an X across her eye be indicative of her being an angel? Plenty of demons have X's across their eyes, like Cherri.

Originally in the pilot, I thought that Alistor was angling for an Ursala gambit (like in the Little Mermaid, I release your kid from the deal if you take her place) on Lucifer. As the series went on, I started to think that maybe he was angling for information from Lilith. Remember, Lilith was originally a mortal, same as Adam, but Sinners in Hell can't reproduce, yet she had Charlie. On top of that, Lilith is supposedly just below Lucifer in power, and she was the one who originally empowered the other demons. There would have to be something more to her power, and I figured Alastor would want to find that out. After the finale, I'm getting the sense that he's on the back foot and he may not have a full plan right now, just a rough framework that he's desperately trying to fill out with everything he can scrape together and hopefully fit into something coherent. And he absolutely hates this.

Fun fact about Rosie and her cannibals all look the same because she and them are hellborns. Hence why suzan was an old lady and why there are a few cannibal children in the crowd.
