I have a feeling that Lindsey really tried to supress her dissapointment, to not make holywars in the comments, but i feel like, most of us reacted that way, when they wasted madara like that))

I think the way Madara died makes sense for his character because trust issues have always been a main theme with him every since it was jokingly said that he can't even pee when people are standing behind him. The first time he died, it was because he trusted Hashirama and was backstabbed and this time too it's because he trusted black zetsu to be his own will and that too lead to him getting backstabbed. There are a lot of hints about Madara's insecurity with letting people stand behind him and his inability to trust them in his backstory. I also think of Kaguya as an extension of Madara's themes with Human paradox.

Honestly I consider Zetsu mocking Madara for thinking he was any different from Obito to be one of the best karmic moments in Naruto. All this time, the seemingly all powerful, all knowing Madara, was himself merely a pawn. And of course as a cherry on top, that line in response to Madara claiming Black Zetsu is his will. "My will is, Kaguya's."

I love how everyone's reaction at the betrayal was either "GASP!!! what a twist!" Or along the lines of this which was exclusively wtf looks lol it literally comes out of nowhere

People with better understanding and influence in the industry seem to be agreeing to that ....youtube commentators like to think otherwise.

Kaguya really isn't the problem. The lore and mythos its based on is fascinating stuff. Its just that her story was tacked on as a final end game villian for naruto and it really should have all been saved for Boruto with more expanded plot lines and better over all execution. Boruto fans can back me up on this and it might even surpass expectations but it really held very little value in naruto's story. It should have been saved for the next saga. Kishimoto could of wrapped up the sage story in a different way, or herhaps give us an open ending that hints towards a greater threat as sort of like an epilogue. In that way it wouldn't have felt convulated and forced into the climax of the story as an excuse to replace madara with a bigger baddy.

There are some highlight moments in the anime from the source material but the anime is liky 80% filler so the manga is the way to go.

​@@Artimes. i get extremely mad when people categorize anime-canon as filler, like IT IS NOT FILLER. also the anime is way better than the manga and by this comment i assume you probably haven't watched the anime. first of all the manga is full of plot holes and it gets pretty confusing and it feels like there is a lot of ass-pulls at times.the anime gets rid of those and makes it way more believable and less random. also, certain bits that weren't shown in the manga are implemented in the anime. the anime has 100 times better character development in all the characters than the manga. please do not confuse anime-canon and filler together they are completely different things.

@@Artimes. in my opinion boruto is shit, I find it quite sad that to make boruto seem stronger they need to make Sasuke and Naruto weaker ... why take away the rinegan and kurama? It seems absurd to me.

For those who don't like this plot-twist: Madara succumbing in this way is the perfect conclusion to his arc for a number of reasons, mainly because a large part of his character is about trust. Living in a world in perennial war, he lived life being constantly on edge and he had trouble trusting others. Even though it's also used as a joke, he couldn't focus when someone was behind him and his back had never been hurt. He only puts down his guard in front of Hashirama and he is able to trust him for a while. But eventually he gives up on the hope his friend gave him, not once but twice, unable to entrust his legacy to others. And the position Hashirama offered him isn’t one he can accept: the hokage is the one who walks in front of everyone and paves the path, so how could he, wary of his back and unable to trust others, be the one to fulfil that role? Hashirama was hoping for him to change but instead the opposite happened, he stopped trusting and believing in everything. Madara wanted to erase the conflicts that took away from him what he loved and to do so he was ready to change the world on a structural level, incapable of imagining a future when others aside from him would be able to bring positive change. So he decided to erase the concept of duality itself, by making everything into one through the plan of the Tsuki no Me. If all are one, there can be no conflict, no wars and no suffering and everyone can just live the perfect life in the dream world created by his genjutsu. He thought that would be the right path and he considered himself to be the only one who could do it, to ascend humanity and reign above all, but he never really could. Madara is yet another Naruto villain characterised by hypocrisy. Fighting is part of human nature and he loved to fight, perhaps because it is in battle that he forged some of his most important bonds, above all the one with Hashirama, that no one else was able to reach. High-level shinobi communicate through battle, yet somehow Madara couldn’t understand that. He wanted to reject pain as well, but this is also a part of human nature that allows people to connect to one another. Madara rejected all his bonds, his own humanity and reality itself, machinating a plan spanning through generations. Unable to trust anyone, not even Nagato or Obito (he shows spite when they betray his expectations), he preferred to manipulate everyone, rejecting everyone else’s will. He understood his own hypocrisy and he understood that his plan would come at a price, but he was willing to accept that price to reach his goal. He imposed his will overpowering everyone else's with strength and he thought he had finally achieved his objective, becoming a god and standing above everyone. But as he was looking down on everyone, an actual god was looking down on him all along, waiting for him to be ripe. And while he thought he was manipulating everyone, he ended up being manipulated himself, betrayed by the one he was fooled into believing was his ally. Kaguya is everything Madara aspired to be. Godly and detached from humanity, wholly uninterested in humans and their conflict, powerful like no other. She is the least sympathetic villain in Naruto, which is why everyone hates her, but she is meant to be that way, and she is also the best villain to conclude the story. Since the confrontation with Nagato, Naruto’s goal has been to find a solution to the cycle of hatred. Cycle that started with Indra and Ashura’s conflict, sparked by Black Zetsu, embodiment of Kaluga’s own hatred. So team 7 now has the chance to destroy all the hatred in the shinobi world at the source, and there really aren’t many better ways to thematically conclude the story.

@@MrCoolAttitude i personally just didint like the fact that black zetsu was used as a sudden plot device to kill off madara. Kishimoto backed himself into a corner by making Madara too strong. On top of the war arc having weird pacing and then we got Kaguya who ended up begin a forgettable villain the war arc left me a tad bit dissapointed. And then the battle btw naruto and sasuke was dope as hell and we all knew it was coming but it almost felt forced into the story in a way. All in all the war arc was a solid arc but couldve been more fleshed out and nothing is perfect. Thats just how I see it.

I also strongly believe that there wasnt any need for Kaguya. Obito was right there, as the "aprentice" of Madara, the one that used the name for such a long time, the one that was already the villain all along and had his own reasons to betray the real Madara. You could have let him slap Madara, and say "you are not Madara, I am" as he is the real ghost of the Uchiha that caused so much calamity, and then him be the last villain, he was perfect for the role of Kaguya, but was done dirty. If you wanted to make him be good again, then fine, but only after they got rid of Madara and Zetsu. And if you dont know how to kill him you could just let Sasuke do it after turning good

Idk if u remember but there has been foreshadowing about her in OG Naruto.. as they said Kimimaro was apart of the Kaguya clan.. he used the bone jutsu thing that is similar to what she uses and the facial features were similar to that if hers

It's kind funny to me that some people saying that this Kaguya switch up came suddenly but if you can tell Madara had achieve his goal (to some degree) and we got a sort of teaser from SOSP about his mother, at that moment I kinda had a feel she would make an appearance in the show since "Madara's justsu" was based on some stone tablet he "believed" was written by the SOSP. I think Kishi at the point in the manga was so tired and exhausted from written every week that he just wanted this story to end hence how this happened and it for sure felt like it can out of nowhere. But I believe it just that people wanted Madara to be the final boss since they all had a very good interest in his character.

Leaving this comment cuz ppl always skip the first part of the video. They said it at the beginning that they will watch itachi shinden after they watch all the canons and completed the main story that’s why never skip the first 10 seconds of the video.

true fans will watch even the filler episodes. there are so many filler episodes that are so important to understand the true feeling and true story. some filler episodes are so important than whole story for character development. for example itachi filler episode are so important.

I absolutely loved kaguya fillers with Hagoromo and his brother, those are my fav fillers in Naruto, even the fight with Kaguya is amazing serisouly, I hope Lindsay is gonna love those.

In all honesty as badass as madara is after his introduction there is big power escalation problem that continues on all the way into boruto despite having the perfect chance to reset it.

Tbf there were hints that something was still hidden harishama and madara fight harishama mentioned someone was watching and the sage also mentioned that his tablet someone got "misinterpreted" by the uchiha descendats which also alludes to Madara being deceived somehow and of course how did Kabuto find Madara corpse without Obito knowing and the fact that like the real Bible it can be changed and rewritten by anyone and people down the line can believe anything that is written by them

I believe that the way Kaguya was defeated could also apply to Madara and it could make the series better IMO.

@@AnwarF_ it’s bc while Kaguya was technically stronger, madara was the much better fighter and strategist. Remember Kaguya had black zetsu giving her tips most of the fight on things that would’ve never fooled madara. Kaguya was stronger, but madara would’ve been harder to beat. I think another reason for Kaguya too is that after the fight. Naruto and Saskue didn’t really seem that tired, this was bc Kishimoto knew he still had to have the final naruto v Saskue fight

I also thought the introduction of Kaguya was rushed but I wanted to see her since that time so to see Kaguya, even if at that rythim, hyped me. To be fair I think Madara lost his charm when he became Juubi Jinchuuriki being exceptions when he was pressured (as in the fight against Guy), also everything was going too well for him even if he had planned all. The origin of Zetsu wasn't really clear till now and Kaguya connects the legend of the Sage of Six Paths (a God which someday existed like yes and gave chakra to people) with a more "logical" approach (even if you like or not, I am not as supporter as you may think of aliens but I rather want it than "Ninja Jesus "). Not trying to convince anyone here, I really understand the reasons why is not generally appreciated and wanted to share a bit of my thoughts.

I liked the Kaguya addition for history but yeah this twist sucked and is very contradictory, still though Kaguya got a banging theme

I know a lot of people don't like this whole Kaguya switch up and I can understand that but I personally didn't really give a fk that she was the end villain because they showed her in previous episodes, I believe had Kishi set this up more earlier in the story fans would not have mind it.

While outta nowhere, I do like that Madara was simply used and gets put down like a clown, just cause it's so demeaning and rather poetic. He doesn't deserve the honor of being beaten by protagonists in a fair and glorious fight after all that arrogance tbh.

In my opinion this was a good way for Madara’s end. Besides the trust theme that many have pointed out in the comments, manipulation is also an important theme. Many characters like Pain, Sasuke and Obito were sure that they are controlling others. They feel superior and undervalue others yet at the end they were the ones being manipulated.

Don’t forget Kabuto as well, he thought he was superior and he was literally controlling others but got outdone by the Uchiha brothers and few reanimated shinobi resisted the control tag. Plus he was manipulated by both Danzo and Orochimaru from the beginning.

@@geats2142 Ultimately he went wrong by reading a sketchy stone tablet and not once questioning the shit it was saying. Why would the Sage of Six Paths, who we know sealed away the Ten Tails to begin with, want anyone to bring it back out to cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi?

Here's what I think they should have done: First, Naruto's shadow clones and Sasuke fight off Madara's shadows while the real Naruto, Sakura, and Kakasho fight the real Madara. Then, after immobilizing all of the shadows, Sasuke joins up with the others, and the four of them gain the upper hand on Madara together. And once they weaken him, that's when Black Zetsu makes his move. What do you think?

I'm a fan of the switch up because for starters why tf would the sage of six paths have left that exact plan as the salvation for the Shinobi world specifically enacted and given to the uchiha that would've been a major plot hole. Her resurrection imo was placed perfectly because if we're being honest naruto and sasuke wouldve murked madara rather quickly it was obvious madara lost the battle after sasuke and naruto were given six paths form right then and there.

An alternative ending⚠️⚠️: Madara loses half of his chakra putting billions of ppl in a genjutsu, now it’s madara and black zetsu/obito vs team 7 and the 2nd and 3rd hokage, madara loses and sasuke taking advantage of his weakness goes to absorb his leftover chakra and fight naruto, they make up, get married (cuz it makes more sense than their current wives) and adopt orphans due to them being traumatized orphans themselves, rebuilding the uchiha neighborhood and passing down their traditions and culture reviving them in a sense and ending the story the same way it begins with naruto and sasuke kissing
