    You are very welcome and I am so glad it was helpful :) I didn't know too until this moment when I realised I have encouraged most of my roses here to grow taller. It was brilliant at first but unfortunately I just don't have enough stakes/woods to support all of them, so I just had to prune them shorter this year. Keeping everything crossed that E.B will still impress us this year! I have planted mine in a sunny spot, receiving direct sunlight throughout the day, although we don't always have sunny weather here (being in the UK :D). So maybe saying it 'being in a sunny position all the time' is a lie from our weather's perspective! :D Also, how old is yours, if you don't mind me asking :) I observed my EB didn't really flower these many during year 1 and 2 ;) Thank you for appreciating my EB :). ---- Maggie x

    Thank you for appreciating my EB rose 🥰. She is turning 4 years old in December. I bought her online in bare-root state directly from David Austin website. I find this particular rose to be on my top 5 best performing roses in my garden. I always get incredible amount of flowers during her first flush of blooms in early up to middle-summer. After this, she'll require proper dead-heading and sufficient feeding to encourage same amount of blooms for the second time, but expect to have a gap in between the 1st and 2nd flush of blooms, depending on how well I have been looking after her during that season, the waiting time could be shorter. ☺ However, this year I noticed most of my roses struggled to perform well the second time. I suspect it was due to lack of rainy days? and the warmer weather we had in the summer. Also, I have not been so diligent in feeding them well this year as I wanted to see how they will perform with less TLC from me 🙉 Not so good outcome!😅 So I'll need to go back to mollycoddling them again next year 🥰 Happy gardening :) xx

    that little worm on your leaf is a rose slug, the ‘worm’ stage of the sawfly. The can be a destructive pest. Your Emily Bronte is looking beautiful, can you tell me how long the flowers last until they shatter and do you have it in sun or shade ?

    Hello thank you for appreciating my Emily and for the information regarding the little worms living on my leaves. I might need to find a natural way to help control them in my garden if they get out of control but fingers crossed they'll remain amiable lodgers in my garden and not cause too much problem :) From my estimation, the flowers on mine usually last up to a week, I think? However, I have some that are just about to flower now. I will start counting the days from the day these ones bloom. I will get back to you soon with an update, to be more accurate. :) Also, depending on the weather, for example heavy rain spoils them quickly and so does strong wind. I have this one planted where it's getting direct sunlight all day. I honestly, love this particular DA rose not only because of it's unique beauty but also it's one of the healthy-growing ones that you can get from DA. Have a nice day! :)

    Hello roontunes :) I am just coming back to quickly say hello and to add to my below comments from 2 weeks ago, that indeed after closely observing the flowers on my EB, on average they last for just a week in a good weather. However, we've had durations of heavy rain too, so I noticed the flowers that are affected by the heavy rain only lasted 2-3 days before the petails drop-off and some buds just dropped off completely! Hello Maria thank you for your kind words :) I totally agree with Melissa's message for some reason DA roses seem to thrive well in the UK environment (cold and wet 85%? of the time!) I believe they also like a heavy soil type, mine is/was a heavy clay which I had to mix some top soil with to break it up and make it easier to plant more varieties of plants. I think personally this is one of the reasons why despite the fact that I mostly fail to give my roses 110% care, miraculously they are still giving me beautiful blooms. Having said that, I belive there are other means to encourage bigger rosebuds for example feeding your roses sufficiently and giving them extra TLC (if you have not already) ;) Happy gardening :) x

    Hi. How much sunlight is EBrose enjoying in the garden? Depending on the amount of sunlight, there is a problem that seriously hinders the growth of this rose. My rose is not growing in a place full of sunlight. How many hours a day did your rose get exposed to sunlight?

  • @lifeisbeautiful-smile

    @lifeisbeautiful-smile

    10 ай бұрын

    Hello - thank you so much for visiting my channel :) My EB rose is situated in a direct sunny position where it gets full sunshine all day, until the sun sets (on average 10-12 hours? if the weather is good). However, I am in the UK so most of the time it is raining here even in the summer season. I was just beggining to believe now that although roses like sunshine, too much of it for a long period can be bad for them too! Especially during long periods of dry season. Also I noticed that they prefer rainwater over tap water. For example, we've just been away on holiday abroad and had to leave my garden unattended for a week but I was so surprise to find them looking better than they did before we went! Prior to this we had very warm and dry weather and I had to use tap water to water them but despite the effort they just looked wilted and poorly. I think the only reason they recuperated again was because of the heavy downpour we've just had last week and probably we'll have again this week! Would it be doable for you to transplant your EBrose where it can also take refuge from direct sunlight? I'm really sorry to hear that she is not performing well in your garden. If you haven't already, I wonder if giving her extra food and TLC might encourage a better growth? (fingers crossed). May the gardening force be with you :) xxx

And I think it will be very helpful to me because you said that the rose condition can vary greatly depending on the water quality. You are very welcome - oh how exciting to hear about your EB! 🥰 I will keep everything crossed here that you'll finally see your own EB bloom profusely soon.🙏 At the moment my EB rose only gets her dose of rainwater when it rains here directly from the heaven :) (luckily for her it happens very often!) but I don't yet have the facility to catch some rainwater via roof water drain system to store it using water butts. Due to how our home is built it's currently not so easy to install one. I wonder if you can have one in yours? It would be easier for you to collect rainwater this way and you'll get to store some, available during dry weather :) Thank you too for appreciating my roses and for your time. I will endeavour to upload more videos next time🥰. Happy weekend xx

    Hello there, this one is 3 years old :). I am sorry to hear that your EB rose has not produced as many flowers yet. :( I must admit that with mine, this is the first time I have seen her flowering this plentiful. She did flower during the previous years, with the same flower size and varierying hues but not as many. Now, this could be because she has finally settled in my garden bed after two and a half-year. Or maybe because prior to her blooming time, I had fed it with Fish Blood & Bone fertilizer, I used Westland, powder one. I live in the UK so I did this in March last year. I also dressed her with my homemade compost. :) How old is yours and also where about have you planted it? I have mine planted in a sunny location I got her as a bare-root rose in late November (2021) and planted it the following month early December. What type of soil do you have? Our garden soil is very heavy-clay naturally, but we have added loads of good quality top soil on top and made a bedding. I hope this helps 🙏. Maggie :) Xxx

    Hello Anne, thank you so much for watching my videos and I am always happy to help with any information I can provide to my fellow gardener, although I am not a pro-gardener myself but I will try my best to share what I have learnt so far in my short years of pottering around. 🥰 I have just re-read my earlier reply to you and I noticed some descrepancies on the year I said I planted this one, it should have been 2020 and not 2021 (sorry I was enjoying a glass of pina colada or two when I typed the earlier message to you🤭) Wow! I must admit I admire you re-locating your rose and I will keep everything crossed here that she'll soon settle in well in her new location. I am unsure if you have seen this video from Jason kzread.info/dash/bejne/c4qCtJqoe5O1h6g.html I feel your EB rose might be okay, as she seemed that has not fully established herself in your garden, yet. I read somewhere from one of the comments on KZread (not in my videos) that you can feed your rose with the Fish, Blood, Bone fertilizer more often, ie., once every week or once every month? during its flowering season. However, I have never tried it yet personally, as I only fed my roses so far, twice in a year; during early Springtime in April and during their second blooming season in the summer around July? after I gave them dead-heading. I am not too sure how hot and dry is your weather but she might also need frequent watering as well during warm weather. I am from the UK, most of the time it's raining. It can get pretty hot and dry here too in the summer, but I only water mine during this time (from late May? up to September? depends on the weather) Apologies for the long response. I really do hope your EB rose will soon cheer you up with some beautiful flowers too. Please don't lose hope. All the best, Maggie x 🙏🤗 xxx🙏
