Colby doesnt clinch against the cage like usman does. He pushes against the cage tgen immediatly drops to a double leg. he spends his time around waist level 90% of the time. Leon will not beable to punish with elbows unless theyre 12 to 6 on the ears

Leon was able to use his size and strength to get usman off of him when pressed against the fence, I’m sure he can shuck Colby off, at least a big portion of the time. I think your right that back to the fence with Colby hugging onto his waist he won’t get much clinch work in, but it will be in the center that he gets his best clinch work in. Leon has good footwork, fights well off the back foot and moves laterally well to avoid getting trapped, Colby will press him, throwing those sloppy shots at a much longer Leon with no set up, Leon will use his footwork to retreat, counter Colby, but so often Leon will plant his feet while retreating and punish Colby as he comes barreling into Leon with knees to the body and that’s when a much bigger Leon will clinch him, and butcher him with those sharp elbows off his and knees on the break.

@@xax2952 Sorry, kid, but a slight, plodding, 5'11" about to turn 36 year-old is NOT going to just impose "relentless pressure" against a 32 year-old 6'2" 190lb who has superior agility, speed, range, strength, and elite striking. Doing that to guys who were his own weight and height but who were close to 40 years old when he fought them.... was one thing. Trying to doing that to the champ who had just dispatched someone who is so big, so strong, with elite exactly like Colby's own wrestling so that the latter was not able to do ANY THING against, in 2 consecutive fights... Colby could easily get himself KOed. It's not Leon who has not fought someone like Colby; instead, it's Colby who has NEVER fought someone like Leon, who, again, is bigger, taller, rangier, younger, faster, more agile and superior in everything EXCEPT normal undergraduate college division I, Greco Roman wrestling, of which UFC's MMA is not about.

I believe Colby will get it done !! 35 is still prime time, he had a loonnng layout but he is always training always in shape. Leon is also not one of the most active guys, people forget that Kamaru in the third fight was not the same kamaru from the second fight. TBH I believe Kamaru just made leon look amazing. Kamaru was not constantly shooting for a takedown, Kamaru wanted to have a striking match and wanted a KO win. He tried some takedown but make leon gas out.. I say Colby becomes the new WW champion.

Leon was not very unactive until very recently which doesn’t make sense to point out because Colby has been like 3x as unactive the cope is crazy, Leon’s takedown defense is extremely good and his striking is levels above usman and usman striking was better then Colby’s I’ve got Colby getting knocked out

If you don't know the difference, chances of you visiting Joe Rogan's Shadow Realm are very high. Just because the 6'2" 190lb champ, operating on a deliberate TACTICAL basis.... doesn't swing for the fences like Jorge, Burns, Colby, Usman et al. ---- to minimize tangling up, to minimize over extension ---- it don't mean he doesn't have the power to put your lights out with one punch to your chin or one kick to your head. Iron Mike said it best, decades ago: everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. ELITE MMA is about punching someone in the mouth OR being punched in the mouth yourself. Elite MMA is not undergraduate college division I wrestling or WWE.

Colby isn’t gonna rush a sniper like Leon recklessly, if he takes the risk of trying to rush Leon he has to get past the leg kicks and long range hands and worry about the elbows in the clinch he might start out slower

I think Kevin Holland has a way better chin than Shav, this is probably a huge cope but shav has been dropped and wobbled bad , if wonderboy hits him clean I think that might determine the outcome of the fight

I would love for Colby to get it done. But if we look at the three major upsets this year. O'Malley, DDP, Sean Strickland. All three them had some advantages physically speaking. Sean is long and tall for the division with good TTD. Meaning Aljo would have to strike more with him. Giving more opportunities for a KO/TKO. DDP has solid power and physically more imposing then Robert. And Izzy has tough fights with fighters who are taller than 6'1. Alex, Jan, and Sean. Colby is the smaller guy. Plus, he's the older guy. He has no pop in his shot. And even assuming he's still in his prime. Which is doubtful. Ring rust is real. Look at Cejudo. Nothing about this fight makes me in confident in Colby.

Based on what, neither Jan nor Sean is above 6ft1, Alex was but Alex still got knocked out cold. Anyway Colby will outwork Leon. People act like Leon is some kind of power puncher killer now. The man's a point fighter, who nearly got slept by Nate Diaz. He's good but Colby will give him too much pressure and he will eventually crumble just like he did against Kamaru in every fight they've ever had together.

⁠​⁠@@Ace_Jermaine Jan is 6’2 and Sean is 6’1 which style is closer to Izzy and have the striking for him. Colby was stopped by Usman then dropped and dominated by Usman again. Colby was also dropped by Masvidal and that pressure from Usman never broke Leon. Leon dominated the 3rd fight and got the KO the second fight and since Colby doesn’t do anything better then Usman so Leon has it easy.

My picks: luque, paddy(sadly), Shavkat, pantoja, and Colby. Hear me out. Luque tko’s Garry in the second round after losing a striking battle in the first. Paddy most likely subs tony probably second round, Shavkat by whatever he wants, pantoja by whatever he wants, and I think Colby weathers a storm and beats Leon by a decision. Control time 😢

gonna be an awesome card for sure ian garry vs vicente luque- i got ian garry, put his personal stuff aside he’s a great fighter and very talented, i think he wins round 2 tko. tony ferguson vs paddy pimblett- i think paddy wins this relatively easy. i think paddy gets it done by round 1 sub. shavkat rakhmanov vs wonderboy- honestly i’m taking wonderboy. we’ve learnt shavkat doesn’t have the best head movement and i think wonderboy can capitalise on that and win a decision 29-28. alexandre pantoja vs brandon royval- pantoja wins this but i think royval will put up a better fight than the first but pantoja will end up finishing him. round 3 sub. leon edwards vs colby covington- i think either fighter can win this because both fighters have their own specialties and ways of winning. edwards either outposts him and out damages him or colby just brings it to leon and outworks him with his relentless pressure and takedowns. but yk what sometimes too have to go with your gut feeling and my guys telling me colby wins this 49-46 with his pressure and takedowns.

i don't uderstand why lot of people underestimate leon like that. maybe mma maths doesn't work but this is guy who beat usman twice vs guy who lost to usman twice. considering colby and kamaru are very similar fighters i think the answere is pretty easy

Would really love to see Leon edwards vs wonderboy. They're both incredible strikers and I think a fight between the two would be the right kind of challenge for both fighters. Leon, to prove if he can out strike the legend and wonderboy, to prove if he can still compete at the very top of the sport.
