The problem is that these pinheads are part of his normal friend group. He should explain to his wife that these idiots were making inappropriate comments about her. One of them even divorced his poor wife for gaining normal pregnancy weight. Those oit-of-line comments are why he lost his temper. He should also talk to everyone else it the friend group and emphasize that he is going no contact with the idiots.

Unfortunately, OP will have to tell his wife. They should invite the group to a get together, minus the ignorant dipchits. Tell them everything, including their reactions at the previous meet up. I'm sure some of the others don't know about the divorced guy and his true reason. Also let the group know that from now on they won't be around those JA's. They still would like to have contact and get together with them.

YES sorry, my doctor told me that i was underweight being 115 pounds at 5'3. She said healthy weight would be 120 to 135 for my body type, and it took a lot to gain the extra 5 pounds and keep it. That poor woman went through so much and finally has confidence. Those friends need a dose of reality

It sux when ur feeling like ur in a good space about ur body regardless of weight and then people's comments reactivate those feelings. I had lost weight from not eating but I had other reasons for it and was in a better place with my ed and the nurses meant well but they kept telling how skinny I was. I started having those thoughts again.

she was already having heart attacks, so she is genuinely healthier now no matter her weight, those friends just care about how her body looks

Yeah, like she just had a baby. Her body and mental focus is still on care and nurture for the little one! It takes time for new moms to ‘lose the baby fat’ for her, I hope she can be healthy and happy!

Story that this reminded me of: when we started dating my boyfriend was 90 pounds at 5 feet tall. I was 200 at 5’4. When he gained weight out former friend said that “my obesity is spreading” I am now 158 pounds and he is 97. I am proud of us both but wow was that a blow to my confidence.
