Accessories, as we know, play a key role in the appearance of any person. Even the simplest clothes will sparkle in a new way if you add an accessory.
This could be a headscarf, headscarf, scarf, or headdress. Hats look especially beautiful and elegant. Nowadays you rarely see real felt hats, and simpler styles made from completely different materials in this style are often found.
I suggest sewing a hat with a small brim for autumn. The style will suit any outerwear - a coat or a sports jacket, in any case it will be in place.
What fabrics are suitable? These are drape, bologna, jeans, corduroy, fur.
To make a pattern, you need to take one measurement - head circumference (HC). It is measured above the eyebrow line and at the back of the head.
The hat consists of 3 parts: bottom, crown and brim:
1) For the crown, we build a rectangle, equal in height to 8-9 cm and width equal to OG. Further everything according to the scheme.
2) To calculate the radius of the bottom, measure the length of the upper part of the crown. For me it is 25 cm. We apply the formula R = 25: 3.14 = 8 cm.
3) Fields. We measure the lower part of the crown, mine is 28 cm. We build a rectangle, 6-9 cm high. We divide it into 7 equal parts and cut along the lines without reaching the end. We move the parts apart from 0.5 to 1.5 cm. We get an arc, redraw it on paper.
Now you can move on to sewing. For my hat, I took bologna from a black umbrella. The fabric is water-repellent and is no different from other similar fabrics.
4) I cut out the parts, laid padding polyester and quilting. Thanks to this, the hat will keep its shape when worn.
5) Connected 2 parts of the crown.
6) For the brim, I cut out two more pieces from bologna and stitched them together. I attached the bottom and brim to the crown.
7) I sewed the lining using the same pattern, but without borders.
8) I connected the hat and the lining with the right sides facing inward and stitched.
9) I left room for turning, and sewed the open seam by hand.
The hat is ready.
No one will guess that it is made from an umbrella.
