Would be great to see a follow up to this video, how he got on over the year any dramas he ran into and his longer term thoughts on the car! A lot of people including me are considering buying on eas they are becoming more affordable but there is a version of the 320d with a very unreliable engine might be good to see how true that is!

Just bought exactly same car as a daily, got an e46 m3 for more spirited drives, feels nice and solid, engines abit rough sounding from outside but when inside and moving its smooth enough.

Excellent stuff! Looks like he's bought a smashing car for £2k, looks good, goes well and 50mpg! That diesel sounds a bit grumbly though there's something oddly charming about that Also "crumb collector" is my new favourite insult 😂 hope you're keeping yourself safe bud!

Fab stuff, looks nice, great shape

Always liked that shape of BMW, shame about the steering on it though! Seemed to push you towards getting the 335i which didn't have the electric setup.

Watch out for the cam chain as it is situated at the Bach of the engine unlike mine is a 318i cam chain is at the front. I recommend regular oil changes don't use cheap oil but good luck the bemmer looks banging.

i'm looking at one of these as an upgrade from the 46

£2000 is an absolute steal for an e92, especially one which runs and which seems to have everything in working order. I am in the market for one right now and all I see is cars £3000+ on autotrader. It's been a year since he bought it, maybe he should do a one year ownership report video.

just picked up a 05 320D SE for £800, it prefer than my 15 plate Fiesta when it had 200miles on it, so smooth and love the chunky steering wheel, as i'm lorry driver. also yes we need a follow up video.

Be very careful with the 2.0 4cyl Diesel engines of that era, it’s probably an N47 and if so, premature timing chain failure is a serious issue, just happened to my dads E90, looking at an engine replacement 😬

Yes I have the 2014 M Sport version. Thinking of saving myself/releasing £5K and getting a 2010 version..........

its just a shame these are renowned for timing chain issues. if its been done your laughing. the 6pot e92's are well worth it tho.

Hi, believe it was bought off auto trader. It’s a 2007. But prices have increased for all used cars in the UK since this car was bought.

Pretty crazy, prices in Holland are over twice as much for a used BMW with the same options, mileage and age.

Yes about the right hand drive, in UK the market is very tight. Hey, at the moment in UK got couple of 640D under 9000 pounds

Personally I really like the e92’s, but if you wrote off a 1 series that was front wheel drive..? Maybe a RWD coupe isn’t the best option? 😂😬

Always buy the best example that you can afford if it’s an older car. You’ll pay less in the long run if you plan to keep it. My honest opinion on any BMW with a 2.0L petrol is.. don’t do it.. unless you live in a low emission zone area? Get a 320d, will run longer, better MPG, faster in a real world scenario and worth more when it comes for re-sale.

@@CarThought thanks, i like the 320d too but i live in london and im at uni so i wont be going anywhere just to the shops or meet my friends. If i had a 320d i would need to blast it on the motorway, i only do about 5000 miles a year so could get dpf and other problems with diesel. what do you think is 'decent' mileage for these cars?

That’s a perfectly valid reason then, looks like the 320i is a better bet. Personally I think the mileage is not as important, as long as the vehicle has a good service history. I normally factor in 12.5K miles per year for a daily driver from new, I think that’s most manufacturers average annual service mileage. So if you are looking at a car that’s 5 years old, 5x12.5= 62.5K miles. A car 10 years old I would expect it to have 125k miles. But motorway cars tend to have more miles, but are usually lower stressed as they sit at a constant rpm on a motorway which is less taxing on the vehicle... so there’s no real way to tell other than service history! Hope that helps..?

@@hybridownzDK In my opinion, the 320i is not even worth buying. That's like putting a childs toy as an engine in the E92. 325i/330i. But you would be ok with the 320d even if you drove 90% city. Just complete the DPF regeneration when it comes on and you're good.

What was the mileage on the bmw or did i miss it lol 🤷‍♂️
