No joke, as hilarious as this film is, it may actually have one of the most satisfying and enjoyable endings of any comedy film ever. Brennan faces his fear of singing in public, Dale rocks the fuck out of the drums, Derek learns to appreciate his brother, Nancy and Robert get back together, even Brennan's therapist comes around to him! And the Gilded Lady in the tree? Priceless.

I contend that Derek is the unsung hero of this movie if you think about it. Without him Brennan and Dale would have remained enemies and also never have been forced to grow up and improve themselves. If you haven't seen Blazing Saddles that would be an absolutely epic movie to react to because Mel Brooks is a comedic genius and something tells me it has the kind of humor that a cultured person such as yourself would deeply appreciate.

She fell from our bunkbed and hit her mouth on the way down and there was blood everywhere... mum went mad and we were all looking around to see if we could find her teeth on the floor but we couldn't find them anywhere. Turns out she'd actually managed to push her two front teeth back up into the gums and had to wait about a year for them to come back through again.

For a while there was a 'One Villainous Scene' series that was making the rounds, which people would analyze what one scene establishes a villain the best, and Derek's car-singing scene should have been there. Nothing got to the core of a villain better than that. He's egotistical and domineering, he's warped his children into miniature versions of his yuppie lifestyle, he's emotionally abusive to his wife, and such a show-off that he carelessly drives and risks his life and his family's. But also, he's petty and psychologically stuck in his high-school triumphs (see also his realtor sign paying homage to his 'Ice Ice Baby' performance). I can't think of a scene that more effectively establishes a character as a materialistic, self-aggrandizing, and prideful douchebag.

I leave the door open. Because my cat will scratch at the door to get in. Tried cracking it so he can get in, he pushes it open. My bathroom is tiny too. Tub/shower on one side, sink and toilet on other. Space between and enough room for the door to swing in till it gets to the tub.
