Ascension has been out for years. It is called "classless" Warcraft and you can build your own class to fill a role as you level. You can build some really good toons once you get some experience with the game and you have things like rogues that can heal and paladins that have "pet" mounts like a beastmaster hunter.

The Trainers you see in the Starting Areas are from the official Ascension Realm. They use this world for COA but the trainers do nothing at this point. I leveled every class to max (50 atm) and its so much fun. The Class design is really awesome. Every class got like 2-5 Playstyles. The Sun Cleric for example can be a Tank, Ranged Caster DPS, Melee (2hand or dual wield) or Healer. Damn i wish it would be finished already :D

You can see the CoA Server on the realmlist in the middle section there. You gotta buy access to it tho

Oh my God I've been dying to know your take on CoA!!!! I will say a lot of the stuff in game is left over from their main realms like the trainers, marks of ascension, random enchants/world enchants and some of the trials like draft mode. The world and everything in it is just copy pasted so they just need to remove lots of stuff still I would love if you did a video series of you just playing each class and your thoughts on them. Personally I still can't decide what to main between sun cleric, star caller, knight of xoroth and cultist.

I think you're right about the cost, I think a lot of private server players likely cannot afford $35 for the privilege of participating in Alpha, I think they should lower the cost to take into consideration of other countries where the value of money is much less. Also the free weekend sounds like a good idea, I find there is not a lot of players online these days due to Thrall and their other servers new season incoming. I agree also this is going to steamroll basically every server including Retail itself, it's fun, and it would be much more fun if they opened it up to be affordable for other not-so-fortunate players.

Look at it this way, USD 15 a month for retail, is USD 180 a year, unless you buy two 6-month memberships at USD 70 each. With PA, however, you can play the game for free for a few months and for just USD 15 with 47 DP each month, well, there you go. You learn to get used to the game and have plenty of DP.

$35 is nothing these days it should just stay how it is tbh. If people can't afford a measly $35 to play a game then just don't play it, it's that simple.

I started playing CoA today as well. I'm Cunnybunny in the video at 9:34. The gear I got at level-1 came from my vanity collection which is synced with the other Ascension servers. The Bringer of Light isn't a cash shop item. You buy it with prestige points, which you get for prestiging. (resetting your character to level 1 and re-leveling to 60 for rewards) It costs 100,000 points which back in the day took me 100 prestiges to get.

There are 2 that I know of, one Russian and the other one Spanish/International - but only in testing stage, I would wait for Firestorm if you need to play DF on privates, that one should probably be coming out towards the end of this year (rough estimate)

I downloaded ascension, and i dont have an option to pick a class like necromancer ( hense the whole point i downloaded it), but i only get the clasless option. Any help? idk what im doing wrong.

If this will kill Retail? Definetly not. But definetly will make some huge impact, but in what cases currently hard to say. Btw. I miss some potential classes like Brigand, Pirate, Felsworn, Void Stalker, Evoker etc.

they actually changed a few classes that were in CoA are no longer there and were replaced (or renamed at least), and private servers overall are definitely a worthy rival to retail and Classic, I am sure there's lots of ppl that switched from retail to pservers and if pservers keep improving like they have been (Ascension, Turtle WoW) it might not be enough to just take down their KZread channels 🤐

Welcome to the dark side my brother lol. I have returned to Ascension myself, Helios is dying and who knows when 5.2 will release, that's when MoP gets good imo. By then CoA may finally release in totality so I may never return to Helios. Glad you are having fun on CoA, I haven't bought it yet, I may or may not, but definitely want to try many classes myself. EDIT: If you need any help to understand Ascension many players online are definitely willing to help you and I can answer any questions that you may have, like where are the bracers, they automatically get equipped if you have nothing slotted there yet. Also your trainer for the most part is books of Ascension, you can buy them or do what I do is use other players books. They usually have them out in the city by the AH. Individual trainers are available also.

@@MEYTRIX I wouldn't say Helios disappointed me per se, it's a fine server. Just population is still declining, content release is a bit slow and the start of MoP is meh imo anyway. I cleared the raids on normal, got decent gear and probably will return to continue the legendary quest line when it releases. As for CoA, yeah right now it would be just for fun and your characters would be deleted or not carried on to the live server whenever it releases. As for the live servers your characters never get deleted, just moved to the main server Area 52 if you are on a seasonal server when it ends. The vanity items that you collect like mounts, transmog and pets stay on your account forever but only usable on the realm you earned them on unless you buy a vanity sync. They can be bought for gold from the AH or the dp shop. When seasonal servers end and are merged with A52 your vanity items come with you. What you may want to try is Area 52 Featured Build under Hero Architect tab, you automatically learn ME's, talents and abilities as you level. I think there is about 100 different builds to choose from lol. There definitely is a learning curve with Ascension but I have been a WoW player for 15 years and keep returning to it, the Devs seem to understand that we play this game for fun, something Blizzard forgot or hasn't cared about for many years.

CoA is seperate from "classless" ascension. It's their take on WoW with 20+ fully custom classes to pick from. Classless ascension is free, but CoA Alpha access is around $30 until it is released.

I've been waiting for this to release for so long! I do have access to the beta but last I checked it was a dead server atm. They are shooting for a release before next year according to Mcdoubles.

had no issues, smooth experience, you can probably play from any part of the world, however, latency may change depending on where in the world you are, it was perfect for me in EU...which one is better - that comes down to personal preference, for me it's Ascension, and to pay Conquest of Azeroth - you need to either buy it for real money, ingame gold or newsletter and have a chance of being a lucky winner

Lol well I’m enjoying it been paying for subscription from release day 2004 - 2017.. and it’s been out since I ended my sub 😢 wish I would have known back then.

I still think Ascension would be tuning the classes overtime and hopefully even come with new zones and content, there’s no limits to what they can do to keep players interested, so although the thumbnail may be a hyperbole, both Ascension and Turtle-like servers are making Blizz nervous as we saw them banning their youtubes last year

Well this didnt boil over well. I doubt this server had even a fraction of an imoact on retail servers considering 1 realm alone had close to 200k people on it in SoD release. Comparing to the maybe 400 people that log on to this server?

yep, it's been years, and reworked completely too, pservers just take their time for some reason, like with Twinstar's MoP or Tauri's Legion which have both been in development for 4+ years

The classes are definitely cool and there’s lots of variety… probably a little too much and some will need to be cut. But what about content? Will CoA have custom raids and dungeons? I’m just not interested in running old content anymore, even with OP custom classes.

@@elmedinbabajic2573 Helios is like a B-C tier server, around 700 ppl online at peak these days, but if you like solo gameplay and slow progression with no rush - this will be perfect for you...otherwise it's Mistblade 2, but that one won't last longer than a few months either, it will be a fresh hype even more so than Mistblade 1 was (which now, after over a year, is also near-dead)

Rexxar's gonna be so fucking fun once it drops, literally can't wait.

@@canyonsand I don't mean gatekeepers exactly but once it got to the media and younger generation it got worse. I'm not sure where all the people who actually enjoy playing wow are but most of them don't show up for fresh servers anymore. It's kinda like every server is filled with tourists. They are real, and you can interact with them, but they are just visiting and don't really care about the game or playing it.

I want to try this but I really don't like the Donate to Win aspect lol.

I tried classless but it gave me too much freedom lol

Dead server 2 years in alpha and still bug's like if you jump in scorpion form as a Venomancer your character animation will stuck don't recommend buying it, it's a waste of money i don't think they will ever relise it for free oh and btw server location is from Russia ... 0 hope from me

I don't think I would like this mode, to me, the best in Ascension is the classless feature and just the mystic enchants. Adding classes destroys the whole idea and will fall in the same mistakes Blizzard did (unbalanced AF).

I respect your opinion. I play both and they are both fun but I like CoA better. Everyone will have their preference. I personally don’t care if every class is perfectly balanced I just play what’s fun for me.
