‘I’m sorry Paul’ perfectly sums up this campaign lmao, he’s suffered a lot through this campaign, which was very entertaining to watch on stream. I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but if you haven’t, you should watch The Legend of Vox Machina. It’s a animated adaptation of Critical Role’s first d&d campaign which is also called The Legend of Vox Machina. I think it started as a kickstarter before Prime Video picked it up and turned it into an actual animated show. Anyways, the original voice actors from the campaign are professions voice actors so they also voice their characters in the show. It’s really good, and I’m sure quite a few people would watch if you reacted to it. If you’ve seen the show or aren’t interested disregard this, I just thought it would be something that might peak your interest.

Ive only ever played DnD once at an event my library was hoating but it was very fun! I expected it to be more complicated but it was actually really easy to pick up. Jaiden did the whole session during her subathon so there's a clip of the whole thing if you wanna watch that (i think its 4 hours?). There was a whole extra plot with Zoot dealing with the devil that was cut from the video.

Speaking of D&D, I've recommended this before. Please consider watching Dingo Doodles. Her D&D sessions are great. She actually has an on-going story that I feel should be published as an official manga. (I even asked her about that at Animethon once. She said that would be too much work, and I get that) I also really hope if you do, you stick with it to the end and you don't stop posting reactions somewhere in the middle like you did for Undertale the Musical.

I love how fun this playthrough was. Also I'm not sure if it was intentional, but I wonder if Marc Thompson was supposed to be a parody of Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec?

The game can be as silly or as serious as you and others at the table want. I am playing in 3 campaigns right now and DM the 4th + make Xmas one shots. One campaign is dark and serious, other is mixed serious with fun, and the one shots... well. My players treat Geneva convention as a checklist, so there's that. I highly recommend playing with someone who played before, and before the game itself have a serious talk about your expectations, wants and, VERY IMPORTANT, limitations (that's called session 0where you talk things out and prepare characters). It is to avoid a situation where you are in a setting with some triggering or very nsfw stuff that makes you feel uncomfortable. For example, I know that I can't mess with memories of my player because she has an IRL phobia of actually loosing memories. And I don't want any actual sex roleplay at the table I play at. My other friend wants the sessions to be serious and with heavy consequences for our actions. There is also a thing if you and the table want to actually roleplay your charatcers or just state what they do, without making voices and stuff. I can highly recommend the system itself, but it's hard to tell how much fun you will have as it is 100% depending on the people you play with and what you want from the game. If you want to check out how the game itself can be played, I can recommend watching DnD campaign of Oxventures, over on Outside Xtra channel - that is an example of light-hearted game. If you want to see people going full-on realistic, there is Critical Role - however, and I cannot stress it enough, don't expect every DM to be like other DMs from those channels. Matthew Mercer is an amazing DM and many fans set him as a standard, which is ridiculously high. Sorry for the long comment, I am just very passionate about the game :)

I don't get to play D&D(or any ttrpg) nearly as often as I'd like. Right now I just started a campaign where I'm playing a wandering chef Alchemy Artificer(basically flavoring their potions as edibles). It's high-level, so our literal first enemy was an ancient red dragon. Very fun fight, mixed in with RP because the dice gods were not kind to me and wouldn't let my spells hit the darn thing. We did win though, & the DM decided we each got a powerup because I decided to cook a feast for us out of its heart.

I've been playing in a group now for about 10 months. We're all playing different types of rogues who were hired by a lich mob boss to steal an artifact called a Chrono Stone from the vault of Mammon, the demon lord of greed (this was planned before certain episodes of Helluva Boss came out). It's been pretty fun so far. I was suprised how compatible all our characters were with each other. For example, my character (who is a freelance spy/investigator) enjoys collecting the BS stories our gladiator spouts at random, he enjoys the random acts of chaos our scout tries to do (who once tried to cheat our lich boss at a game of cards), and he finds common ground with the parties assassin as a fellow paid professional.

I played Dungeons & Dragons twice before. The first time, I was a gnome (because I am smol) but also a fighter. I would just hit things with my club. And I remember when I got to the point where I could upgrade my weapon, I just got a bigger club lol. And the second time I was a centaur and I made my name Wolfc*ck because my last name is Wolf and my mom's maiden name was Adcock and I thought it be funny if the last names were combined. But since I was a centaur, the DM kept accidentally calling me Horsec*ck the entire campaign 😂

My only thought was "What the H did I just WATCH??!!!!" I have no idea. THIS doesn't jive with my preconceived notions of the game. Obviously, I've never played it. I wanted to when I was younger, but that was at a time to where I didn't have many friends, and I don't even know what else was in the way, preventing me from playing it.
