Those run down houses, are still devastation from hurricane Maria from 2019 or 2018.

The Pirates of the Caribbean Magic Kingdom ride entrance and queue was inspired by the Fort San Felipe del Morro located in Old San Juan. The ride has a Castillo del Morro sign at the entrance. Two scenes from the Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides movie were filmed in Puerto Rico. One scene was filmed in the Fort San Cristobal (where Kyle was) and the other scene in Palominito island off the east coast of PR.

San Juan is probably my favorite port to just walk around and explore. It’s beautiful!!!

I came down to see the ship just before the first rain storm. If I had known it was your first PR visit I would have met you at the ship early in the morning!! :) You missed a LOT of Old San Juan so you have a good reason to come back again....book another cruise! Been there once. Love the cobble stone roads and all the colored buildings. The views from the fort is amazing. Some old run down shacks have some prime ocean views!

My favorite port,,,, I’m surprised your didn’t eat!!! The food truck by where you scared the pigeons is amazing!!!!!

Those “ran down houses” are a humble neighborhood called La Perla. Some of those houses where heavily affected by hurricane Maria in 2017.

Wow! Beautiful footage from the morning. I like being awake to port. When I ported at a stop in Nova Scotia we were greeted by bagpipes. It was an experience. If you come to SF you HAVE TO to a meet up for your subscribers. Us west coasters who don't have the chance to run into you at WDW. I went on it’s first thanksgiving cruise this was and probably will be until I go on the jubilee the best ship I’ve been on. I made so may memories and im glad that we have an excel ship coming to my state Texas so I can experience something like the Mardi Gras.

I live in Puerto Rico and you need to see the rest of it. It is beautiful.

Kyle, It’s great to see you getting out of the Disney bubble and getting out in the world. Your viewers can truly see your excitement and joy in discovering and experiencing new things for the very first time. The only thing I would nitpick was calling certain areas “run down”. In 2017 Category 5 Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico head on. There were areas of the island that had no electricity for months. There were areas that had no running water for weeks. The island was completely decimated. It’s just growing pains. It’s hard enough just going through it. It’s even harder when you’re documenting it and it’s being seen and judged differently by 80,000 people. You’ll find a balance but don’t let it change who you are.

Congrats on 80k, is so nice that you enjoy Puerto Rico, I was watching local tv when they announce the first cruise since march last year arrived at port and when I saw it I was that is where Kyle and Jojo are, is to bad I live far from the Capitol and I couldn´t meet you, Pirates of the Caribbean ride is inspired by the forts in Old San Juan, that mansion is La Fortaleza where the governor lives, if you like San Juan you will love the beach and the other natural places around the island and we have great food and at night Old San Juan is a party all around well I don´t know now because of Covid how it is but we know how to party. And the houses in La Perla yes we got hit by a Hurricane back in September 2017 and it was really bad time for the island and some places haven´t fully recover from it. Hope you decided to come back and enjoy more the island.

Love PR! I would suggest staying at La Concha Renaissance in Old San Juan and busing to New SJ to experience a little of both areas. We visited the fort and did the peddle tour when it first arrived in OSJ. I don't know if it's still there but our guide was awesome!

Hey Kyle there are several forts in Nassau Bahamas too, you and JJ must have missed them on your visit. Lots of history throughout all the islands, many sea battles and changes in ownership of the islands depending on who won! Loving your videos of San Juan, true island vibe.

You should def. come back on a trip to see our rain forests, water falls, forest slides, food!

I was in San Juan Porto Rico age 21 summer 1980. I was on the Carnival Cruise ship named the Festivale. At the time it was one of the largest ships sailing. Fun fact was later called the Big Red Boat which I believe it was the the first Disney cruise package. I can’t wait to cruise again soon.

ugh, i miss puerto rico so much! i was just there in may visiting my partners family. hopefully we’ll go visit again soon haha.

You should visit Savannah, Georgia! It's the most beautiful city with an old history and you can walk around the better part of downtown with your drink in hand. It's the best city!

Blue Iguana is my favorite breakfast too. And San Juan is one of my favorite ports. I'll be on the Mardi Gras in November, and I'm going to Disney World for the first time in September because my September cruise was cancelled.
