This album is incredible

The Samurai song hits different when you know the back drop to the concept of the album. This song is describing Amy Winehouse life .. the last verse: "took a bath, read a book and went to sleep" (that was essential how she passed) she was looking through old pics and fell asleep drinking and never woke up. And that beat switch makes sense because that's the beginning of her "Hip-hop career" at least in this portrait by LuPe Track 2 is her getting her "rap powers" or being anointed with the samurai skill set.

When I think of battle rap I think of aggressive bars. He doesn’t have aggression in this album. It’s calm so I’m confused. The battle rap theme is not translating to me.

The chorus of Samurai is a voicemail that Amy Winehouse left Rami before she died, presumably because she had written something. She was a big hip hop fan, and the song is a tribute to her in its entirety.
