i mean that’s how art is! when you paint a portrait it takes you so many tries to get the nose and hands right. same with videos - some shots or jokes take a little longer to get right. there’s this illusion that youtube is just some people that walk around with a camera and that footage gets uploaded, but for those who do it well that’s not how you make an entertaining piece of art you are proud of :)

she's so hardworking with everything she makes and it broke my heart to watch that. i have vocal tics and get stuck in loops of saying the same sentence over and over and know how frustrating it can be. i hope she can one day film her unfiltered self and still feel confident enough to post it.

Love that you went out there and promoted your thoughts on how sexual health should not be demonetized! OK, I always thought Ashely was not relatable at all... But then I saw her in the bathroom, being productive when she was alone in a social situation (like editing her video) and the way she talked to those guys walking in front of her. I realized for the first time I felt identified with a KZreadr. When I feel really awkward I hide somewhere and start to think about why am I like that BUT then if I feel comfortable I am really charismatic and even the jokester. Fuck. Thank you Ashley for showing how you are. It makes me happy that I am not alone in this. I thought I was weird.

She's an over priviledged self hating whitewashed Asian who has more disposable income than I can dream of any time soon yet harps on about how relatable she still is. She has no friends so she has to take all her instead pictures on self timer, an awkward tumblr personality that only works online, she somehow manages to dress like a grandma and sexualised toddler at the same time, no wonder

Ashley’s constant battle to figure out where she stands in the double bind is incredibly relatable. Like yes the world has gone to shit, so do i make it shittier or better? But what if i actually enjoy doing shitty things for the world and therefore loathe in self hatred for participating in this awful endless circle that is killing our world?? Anyways if someone has the answer, please fast forward it!

I don't have a perfect answer and I'm so far from perfect. But maybe ask yourself if the shitty things truly make you happy ? Like, is owning 50 pairs of shoes really make you feel joy on the long term not just when you buy them and the few firts times you wear them. And if the answer is yes, then maybe try to find an alternative that makes the shitty things less shitty ? Like for example for clothes, you can buy them second hand. As individual, the main causes of our carbon footprint is the food that we consume, the clothes and our car/plane use. So if you can make a change in one of the third, it's already a great start !
