In 1954 when they were constructing Disneyland, the building codes would not allow anything taller than the height of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. And, remember, this is Walt's castle. The castle he designed and walked through many times; as he walked the streets of Disneyland and spent weekends in his apartment above the fire station with his family. There is a magic and feeling of Walt's presence in Disneyland that is not matched in any other park. Matterhorn Bobsleds tracks were redone some years back because the original tubular steel rails had become old. Having said that, the original track on the bobsleds were smooth. You glided down the mountain. Oh, and the Matterhorn ride was the first tubular roller coaster in the world.

Thanks for this tour of the park. I'd visited last in 2015, so it's fun to see the various changes. Glad you and your friends had a fun visit. :)

This was so interesting! I was surprised at the differences like the castle and even the Pirates ride. I loved the refurbished “20,000 leagues under the sea” ride. So fun! Now I want to check it out.
