    He takes down the Dancing Lion at Level 80, Scadu-level: (1), wearing a Soreseal (reduces his defenses) and no Gauntlets. This man uses his Physic to maintain his Runes despite refusing to use them, effectively playing a game within the game at all times. People are complaining about the difficulty of the DLC and Brando is out here dishing out "Nah, I'd bonk" without a care in the world.

    Just do be aware, if you do audiobooks, they are a mixed bag. The Mistborne audiobooks were great...but Stormlight Archive audiobooks are....fine. the narrators can be very.....plain, when it comes to enthusiasm. In defense of Ranni's ending in regards to the lore of the different outcomes of the game - Ranni is probably the best ending of a lot of REALLY AWFUL outcomes for The Lands Between. her entire conclusion is 'The outer gods are, all around, AWFUL for everyone. I'm linked to the only one that seems to want to claim dominion and LEAVE. Let's win, and let everyone sort themselves out without eldritch interference." Then there's also that she seems to actually like the tarnished, under all her mega-tsundere tendencies.

  • @UnlimitedBick

    all criticisms aside, if you don't like the current ruling power, you can just walk in, kill them, and establish a new status quo, so ranni taking the rune to space means that there could be no future tarnished (Chosen Undead, Ashen One) like the player character (i'm pretending there aren't portals to farum azula) ranni removes the goal, golden order removes free will, frenzied flame removes all life and we eventually start over best answer is clearly fia ending because now skeletons can vote

  • @TheLetterH111

    @TheLetterH111

    I think if anything the DLC suggests that goldmasks rune of perfect order would probably lead to a pretty okay ending too. We know from Metyr's rememberance that the Greater Will abandoned the lands between almost as soon as it sent its envoys. So the Golden Order and its crimes are a contrivance of Marika, Radagon, the demigods, the fingers and the elden beast. With Goldmasks rune of perfect order, the demigods and the elden beast dead, we can probably expect the Golden Order to follow a somewhat similar material progression to medieval societies in our own history. There is hope for this world, unlike in Dark Souls, and without Marika there is a chance that the depravities of the Golden Order become a thing of the past. At the very least society wont be dictated by immortal beings with their own interests placed above all else.

    "Is there a way to replicate soulslike descriptions in books" I mean... I feel like the Stormlight epigraphs are actually kind of similar in nature and purpose to the Souls item descriptions. I don't know if it's possible to do any serious written storytelling using ONLY stuff like that, but Brandon has actually done a pretty good job of incorporating a similar concept. EDIT: LMAO seconds after I said that he mentions epigraphs. Although weirdly enough not his own XD

    Not much of a fan of his writing but his playthroughs are genuinely hilarious. Also excellent note about epigraphs. Maybe in a big book you could do a few chapters where some scholar or investigator is collecting scraps of information and throw them all in there, or start each chapter with a few epigraphs that build on one another.

    Gaol is indeed meant to be "Jail", it is its etymological precursor irl. However it's still technically pronounced with a hard G.

    About the storytelling of the game, I understand the appeal the From Software way of storytelling can have. My problem is that most of the time I have no idea what I'm actually facing until after the fight I can read who I actually just battled. I would generally appreciate it if From Software was just a bit more forthcoming with the story bits. I enjoy a game more if I have at least some idea what's going on.
