    Found it's best to roll up the paper in long lengths and wrap around the insides to allow a hole in the center allowing air flow upwards. This works much better than placing wads of it in the whole bottom. Saw Alton Brown demonstrate that, and he adds some cooking oil on the paper too.

    Just bought one of these yesterday. Made the mistake of filling it all the way up and dumping them all in my grill. Brought it to over 500 with the lid closed. I only really needed half. Lesson learned. Awesome chimney starter though.

    Can't wait to get mine. Should make grilling in the winter easier. Don't have to worry about the wind blowing out the flames on my " pyramid".

    make sure when dumping the hot coals to dump in the same direction as the wind. Nothing like some burning embers and smoke in your face.

    Your set up is mighty close to your siding. In the event of stray flame possible damage to paint job or burn down wall

    L Derby well worth it and you really don't need more then one small piece of paper to get it going other ways might be faster but this is very easy and you can prep other things and just leave it alone

    Really funny video. Another way to light the chimney is with 2 lighter fluid cubes. Put then on the bottom. Light them up. Put the chimney on top of the fire. Then poor out on half side of the BBQ so you have your hot side and low heat side for like Hot dogs. Buns, etc...

    Roll your paper (about 3 sheets) into thin roles and then put them in around edges leaving a hole in the middle for air.

    Brand new grill, but Ed, your using the wrong briquettes man, I could tell by the amount of dust coming out the bag. Kingsford son, cleanest burn, best flavor.

    Holy crap that was a lot of paper. I'm still just trying to figure out what is so funny that the camera lady kept laughing. Also, FYI, you may not want to start a fire right up next to your house like that. If the fire get out of control, it can spread to your house.

    I used more than one a couple of newspapers I used and rolled around than insert into the bottom of chimney starter and lighted it at the bottom omg! Flame of fire rised up and after a few minutes the flames calmed and lowed down. Reading your comment than I will use one rolled of newspaper next time.

    Also that grill needs to be pull further out in the yard. not near close to the wall where you can loose your home dear god. must be safe.

    Weber 7403 Char-Basket Charcoal Briquet Holders --- they are really good to hold the coals in the place you want them

    Thanks! I actually haven't seen that in my country yet.. I ordered the Weber Mastertouch this morning and it is supposed to be included (from what I've seen in other videos), so will see if we have them over here. That might solve a lot of my problems if I do get it.. Otherwise I'll have to get something made

    I've been using a chimney starter for years... use gloves. The temperature of the handle is irrelevant.

    Take about 2 to 3 cotton balls and soak them with alcohol then light them up and set the chimney over them on your grill. much better then using paper.

    I've used Kingsford for years picked up a bag of Royal oak all natural hardwood briquettes. Royal Oak All day 😎👍🤙 I will not ever use Kingsford ever again.

    For those who are serious about their BBQ lighter fluid is sacrilege. The fumes from the lighter fluid cooks into the food.

    I guess you can drop some lighter fluid on newspaper to speed up the burning. The fluid will burn out way before the charcoal is ready.
